Lindsay Graham to La Raza: “We’re gonna tell the bigots to shut up.”

posted at 12:23 pm on May 4, 2007 by Bryan

Sen. Lindsay Graham, it’s fair to say, is a squish in immigration law enforcement. He supports “comprehensive immigration reform,” which is code for amnesty. Graham received an award last March from La Raza (English: The Race–and they’re not talking track & field), and among the other open borders bromides had this to say:

You can watch the whole speech here, and I encourage you to do so. Graham comes off as a sincere, well-meaning but misguided fellow until the personal story professing such surprise that a man named Garza could be a great American–soft bigotry of low expectations, anyone?–and that late line about “bigots.”

Who is he talking about?

Not them.

Or them.

Or them.

He’s surely not talking about the people right in front of him, who belong to a group called “The Race” and who say things like this.

I get it. He must be talking about them. And him. And all of us who support border enforcement.

Which is outrageous, of course.

(thanks to MR)

Anywho… he’s officially a RINO. Why the heck he’s cavorting with La Raza, second only to MEChA in anti-”AmeriKKKa”ism, white hate, and ultra-pure racism, is beyond me. Like most politicos, he is addressing a niche of voters saying whatever it takes to induce them to love (and vote for) him, be it wrong or right. He scratches their backs, they scratch his. It’s always a popularity contest with our politicians, never what is the right thing to do. It’s like a reality TV show and they’re all attention whore$ trying to keep from being voted off the island by doing/saying whatever it takes no matter how despicable.

Calling all people who desire the immigration law’s to be enforced, “bigots”, is a childish and reprehensible tactic to do nothing more than elicit votes. The illegal immigrant popularity contest is a duel between the Socialists/Communists, Liberals, and bottom feeding RINO’s, which are all basically the same thing only with different labels. It’s 12 Million +/- votes for the winner once the illegal immigrants get their official right to vote, among other rights generally reserved for LEGAL immigrants and citizens.

If he’s a Republican, I’m a long-haired hippy commie pinko. He’s pond scum like most all other politicians, and I have definitely and officially voted him off MY island!

This might be the dumbest argument I’ve ever seen in the comments here. They hold the ceremony in the capital city, Washington, so it’s called the Capital Awards. It’s not just about members of Congress or politicians, or Cardinal Mahony wouldn’t have received an award along with Graham, so it’s not about the capitol, but the capital–since that’s where they hold the ceremony and they want it to sound like a grand affair. The capitol is on the logo because it evokes thoughts of the capital city better than any other building in the city. It’s all perfectly obvious, to me anyway.

Slublog,

Is it possible for you to make an argument without resorting to profanity?

Is it possible for you to not be politically correct?? Let’s see, my dad was a sailor…as in enlisted navy circa 1956 – 1984, my brothers are all hard core bikers and if you were to check my tagline you would find out that I am a rock musician. So could I make an argument without resorting to profanity? Quite possibly but it would also probably sound as phony as Harry Reid’s assertion that he supports our troops does.

You still haven’t explained how insults translate into truth.

Well let’s examine what I said.

You are being a stinking liberal elitist grammar/spelling Nazi.

Is honora, a liberal elitist …

The answer to that is incontrovertibly yes.

Stinking in this context is clearly a verb modifier for liberal elitist, which honora herself has provided ample documentation to sustain a charge of.

Was her post an attempt at her being a grammar/spelling Nazi, the answer again is incontrovertibly yes.

So what exactly is your argument here???

My father was also a sailor. Enlisted Navy – 1970-1990. However, one’s vocabulary is only influenced, not predetermined, by their parentage.

Is honora, a liberal elitist …

The answer to that is incontrovertibly yes.

Stinking in this context is clearly a verb modifier for liberal elitist, which honora herself has provided ample documentation to sustain a charge of.

That is the silliest thing you’ve said yet. You’re again attempting to pass off your opinion as truth.

And that phrase, “politically correct.” I do not think it means what you think it means.

I say it’s a squiggly line sandwiched between two quotations marks. Who is taking the con?

No way. it’s two creepy eyes with a mustache.

Prove me wrong.

Slublog on May 4, 2007 at 2:30 PM

Well, as a resident of southern Arizona who sees the damage racist groups like La Raza and MEChA and their “liberal” American enablers do every single day, all I can say to the rest of the country is, buy more ammo, ‘cuz your gonna need it!

Race is a meaningless pseudo-scientific concept. Criminals invading my country is detrimental to the safety and welfare of my fellow citizens.

It’s such a simple concept. Race meaningless. Invaders bad. Ignore race. Shoot invaders. Problem solved.

>Stop being a troll with that “rock on” stuff.

I think it’s a retro 70s thing or something. I don’t think anybody in real life says that anymore, at least not seriously.

Bryan,

How does one get a username and password on this site? My buddy’s emailed you a bunch of times for one.

Sigh. Another bleeding heart conceptualist. EVERYTHING is a symbol. I suppose this, “@”, isn’t an ampersand but an ear canal. I would prove you wrong, but I’d have to deploy my full intellectual arsenal of blockhead and nazi epithets. Luckily, however, profanity = truth, so it’s a squiggly line sandwiched between two quotation marks because I effing say it is.

IMO, a little “Spring house-cleaning” may be in order before new commenters are added.

Honestly, just look at the trash folks are posting in this thread alone.

Darn CAPITALISTS!!!

Dorien is just here for the traffic. “Rock on” is his very best marketing tool.

What I wanna know (other than another spelling lesson) is how the heck these SPANISH speaking people who’s ancestors OBVIOUSLY came from SPAIN, and their SPANISH ancestors KILLED OFF all of the indigenous people in Mexico like the Aztecs, how the hell are WE the EUROPEANS, and they’re NOT????
Someone should give them a GEOGRAPHY and HISTORY LESSON. They are NOT American Indians and it’s an insult for ‘them’ to even think it.
And Graham? He should just Shut TFU!

Slublog,

The answer to that is incontrovertibly yes.

That is not an opinion, it is a well documented fact right here at Hotair……

And that phrase, “politically correct.” I do not think it means what you think it means.

Hmmm, lets see…In its original form it was defined thus…

politically correct definition
adj. Abbr. PC
1. Of, relating to, or supporting broad social, political, and educational change, especially to redress historical injustices in matters such as race, class, gender, and sexual orientation.
2. Being or perceived as being overconcerned with such change, often to the exclusion of other matters.

However as we all know it has long since morphed into euphuistic phrases and concepts to avoid offending the delicate sensibilities of any minority or sub-set of American society. Fat people are no longer fat, they are gravitationally or caloric challenged. Retards are no longer retarded they are intellectually challenged. Sexual perverts are no longer faggots, they are Gay.

No I think its rather evident that I understand what it means and have applied it in an appropriate manner.

Bryan,

The

Rock on

is my tagline, it goes with me every where I post, and unless there is a specific policy here that forbids my using it it stays. If there is a specific policy then I will drop it.

Nice try but no……..I’m here because as a conservative from California I feel a need to express my opinions in a public forum where it can be noticed that not everyone in California is a liberal left tard. And especially that it can be noticed that not all liberal arts majors are retarded liberals. Yes I am/was a liberal art’s major as in Bachelors Degree in Music.

Let the record show that exhibits a, b and c have been admitted as evidence.

Maybe lonely ‘rock on’ from California is a narcissist with an inferiority complex? ( and definitely not a math major)

welcome rocky.

PRCalDude,

Would you mind if you were one of them? Oh………Not exactly very Christian of you now is it. How’s that go…Do unto others before they do unto you…No actually I believe that quote goes…Do unto others as you would have them do unto you…So I guess that means that what you are saying is that you want to be disappeared…

Now thats funny, I know its funny because nobody could be that stupid. I got my degree in 86, never even remotely suggested that that was when I started playing. I started playing back in the early 70′s. Played in my first band back in 1976.
