No, I won’t have at it!
RightWinged on May 3, 2007 at 7:32 PM
Go FRED!!! (Thompson)
Finally a ‘real’ president.
What’s his stance on illegal immigration, anyone know?
Aylios on May 3, 2007 at 7:32 PM
Oh yeah … and why wasn’t he in the debate???
Aylios on May 3, 2007 at 7:34 PM
The next President must be able to withstand the continuous onslaught from the treasonous media and democrats while fighting to wipe islamic fascism from the face of the earth. Of course shutting down our borders and controlling, if not stopping immigration altogether is part of that fight.
darwin on May 3, 2007 at 7:34 PM

I hear Chris Mathews is the mediator.
Doesn’t that just beat all.
Kini on May 3, 2007 at 7:37 PM
Wow, am I a total dumbass? I now realize that this thread is probably about the GOP presidential candidate debate… I just thought it was sort of a Hot Air free for all (which seemed odd). I’m stupid.
RightWinged on May 3, 2007 at 7:39 PM
If you’re talking about Fred, it’s because it’s a debate for the candidates. If you haven’t declared, you aren’t a candidate. So, no Fred in the Republican Presidential candidate debate.
JadeNYU on May 3, 2007 at 7:40 PM
Fred! debates and all the others what equal time to Boston Legal.
conservativecaveman on May 3, 2007 at 7:40 PM
He hasn’t declared.
amerpundit on May 3, 2007 at 7:40 PM
I actually thought the exact same thing at first. I clicked on it expecting to see some controversial topic to get us all fired up. I was very confused when it just said “have at it”. Then, my brain kicked into gear and I realized what was going on. :)
JadeNYU on May 3, 2007 at 7:41 PM
We. Need. Direction.
If I may though, if anyone could give me some good anti man-made global warming info, or point me the way, it would be much appreciated. I’m in a huge debate about this with some friends, and could use some ammo…
Thanks!
JetBoy on May 3, 2007 at 7:43 PM
What’s killin’ me here is that this debate is happening in the town where I live; the Library is about a three minute drive away. Alas! The Library’s closed to the public for obvious reasons.
ccwbass on May 3, 2007 at 7:44 PM
My prediction: Rudy will walk away smelling like a rose, the others not so much.
Then he will call Fred!.
bbz123 on May 3, 2007 at 7:45 PM
The front runner for Political Hack of the Year is addressing the crowd now.
amerpundit on May 3, 2007 at 7:48 PM
cripes…this is about the GOP debate…
*knocks head on table*
need coffee…
JetBoy on May 3, 2007 at 7:49 PM
darwin,
The next president needs to TALK/COMMUNICATE to the American people on a regular basis, Reagan was unsurpassed in his ability to do this and Bill Clinton was as close a runner up at it as anyone has come. Fred Thompson has Reagan’s level of comfort in front of a television camera and a powerfully projected persona of down to earth corn fed American values and realism. If Fred Thompson uses his ease and comfort in front of the camera to communicate with the American people and treats them like they are not imbecile needing to be told what to think we will see a repeat of 1980…
Rock on……………………
doriangrey on May 3, 2007 at 7:51 PM
Has the Iraqi gov’t gone on vacation for two months?
Which is better, Direct TV or Dish Network?
Zorro on May 3, 2007 at 7:53 PM
I can’t stand to watch that twit Chris Matthews. I will just watch and read about the highlights.
SouthernGent on May 3, 2007 at 7:53 PM
I’m debating whether to watch this or reruns of Law and Order.
tommuck on May 3, 2007 at 7:55 PM
Debate? What is to debate? All us Republicans think alike.
Limerick on May 3, 2007 at 7:55 PM
JetBoy – Ronald Bailey over at Reason has some great articles over the years concerning Global Warming:
http://reason.com/staff/show/133.html
Also there was a great debunking of Inconvenient Truth at WSJ which I can’t find right now.
tine on May 3, 2007 at 7:56 PM
I think Dill Pickles are better than Sweet Pickles…
… oh, it isn’t that kind of debate?
jeffshultz on May 3, 2007 at 7:56 PM
Thanks…I’ll check the WSJ for it…
I’ve been told I need “peer-reviewed” sources…I’m just not able to find one.

Kosher dill vs Regular dill.
That’s a debate.
CrimsonFisted on May 3, 2007 at 7:59 PM
Chris Matthews, bah.
CrimsonFisted on May 3, 2007 at 8:00 PM
About the debate, take a look at the “evil” picture of Giuliani at the top of Yahoo right now and a confused looking McCain.
I wonder how long it will take before Giuliani’s poll numbers come down because of relentless bad press and photos.
januarius on May 3, 2007 at 8:01 PM
Oh, great. Matthews is in charge.
amerpundit on May 3, 2007 at 8:03 PM
Am I allowed to bring up Ann COulter in this thread? =>
JayHaw Phrenzie on May 3, 2007 at 8:03 PM
What is with that ugly green tie of Mathews?
CrimsonFisted on May 3, 2007 at 8:03 PM
Ronald Reagan mentioned at 8:04.
CrimsonFisted on May 3, 2007 at 8:04 PM
There’s nothing to discuss yet and I’m posting anyway. Sigh.
naliaka on May 3, 2007 at 8:06 PM
McCain says that the war was totally mismanaged.
amerpundit on May 3, 2007 at 8:06 PM
Should the GOP have said “no” to MSNBC the way the Dems did to FOX?
ugh…they just had to let Matthews moderate…imagine Olbermann?
JetBoy on May 3, 2007 at 8:07 PM
Thompson just repeated everything he said this afternoon on MSNBC, word for word.
amerpundit on May 3, 2007 at 8:07 PM
Well I’m just reading Michael Crighton’s ‘State of Fear’. It pretty much sums up all the great global warming swindle points in a nice exciting thriller format. I picked it up on special, not even realising what it was about and then was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up.
Crighton always adds some really interesting possibilities, like the fact that many of those Hollywood moviestar billions are possibly being invested in extemely irresponsable ways, like the inadvertent (or not so inadvertent) funding of eco-terrorism.
When you have a bunch of extremely wealthy airheads throwing serious money about, odds are that the results are also going to be pretty serious and not in a good way by any means.
