The video is equally straight forward as it is appalling: Valet said the employee is a legal U.S. citizen who has been with the station for about five years.
Nonfactor, how many times do you have to go in the same circle pretending to be stupid, when you're really just living up to your responsibility as a liberal to be shockingly dishonest. He may be an American citizen and have every right to wave the flag (AS I'VE REPEATEDLY SAID!), but why would it make any sense to wave it at a rally where illegals are known to wave it while demanding American rights. He's clearly showing which side of the issue he's on, which is unethical for starters. But it's also stupid. HOW MANY F-ING TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU IT'S THE VENUE!? Stick a bumper sticker on your car or hang a flag from your car radio antenna, or off your apartment balcony if you feel like it... But why the hell would you show up at a rally for Mexicans who break our laws and want to demand our rights, waving a Mexican flag, celebrating that crappy country they escaped. I'm not going off topic when I talk about the other people, because despite the fact that he's supposed to be there in a professional capacity, he's there showing his support for law breakers who for no reason (that makes any sense) wave Mexico's flat at these events.

It’s my right/duty to point out that it’s stupid and makes no sense to wave a flag of a country that sucked so bad you had to leave it and illegally sneak in to another!?

I see the problem here: I'm staying on topic and talking about the cameraman (who didn't think his country was "so bad you had to leave it and illegally sneak in to another") and you're off-topic. Let me remind you that the man who was waving the flag was an American citizen just as my Scottish friend I mentioned in the first post I made and I believe they have a right to wave what flag they wish and it isn't up to me to judge what is "stupid" or "unreasonable."

This discussion is over.

You're still ignoring the point about the venue so why do I bother repeating it? And you're also playing the liberal victim card acting as if I've said they "can't" or don't have the "right" to wave whatever flag they want. It's my right/duty to point out that it's stupid and makes no sense to wave a flag of a country that sucked so bad you had to leave it and illegally sneak in to another!? Can I repeat this 100 more times for you? I don't care if they fly the flag off of their car, or on a Mexican holiday, or whatever. But don't come to my country illegally, demand my rights, and wave your shi**y country's flag (again, shitty by the waver's definition, or they would have had to flee).

Well, I’ve repeatedly explained that there’s no reason to wave a Mexican flag at an illegal alien rally, when people hated that country so bad that they illegally snuck in to ours. There is NO REASON for them to do this.

That's a non-answer. I ask who are you to say what's within reason and you simply restate that there is no reason to do something. Something may have reason to somebody else that you may not see.

What this boils down to me believing that U.S. citizens can wave a flag if they want to regardless of whether I agree with them or not and you believing that U.S. citizens shouldn't be able to do something if you don't agree with it (and not just that, but assuming that there is no reason to do something if you don't agree with it). You're not even taking a right or left position you're taking a totalitarian position.

Dude, you are dancing!!! You either admit you’re a complete retard, or just another dishoneset lib.

I like how you open your post with two fallacies. Just a side note.

this non-partisan cameraman shouldn’t be, in a professional capacity at an ILLEGAL ALIEN rally (where Mexican flags are waved while they demand our rights), waving a Mexican flag.

I guess that's the difference between me and you. I'm not willing to tell U.S. citizens what they should and should not do. And apart from that I'm not assuming (like you) that the reason the cameraman was waving this flag was in support of illegal immigrants or amnesty, and if he was I wouldn't care, just as I wouldn't care if a cameraman had a Republican or Democratic sticker on their camera--it's a cameraman for crying out loud.

where Mexican flags are regularly (and without reason) waved.

Who are you to say what's within reason?

(here’s where you again play dumb, take a sentence or two out and say that I have a problem with someone celebrating their heritage, as if you don’t really understand the issue here)

What does this have to do with the cameraman? He is a legal U.S. citizen and does indeed have the right to wave the flag from his family’s origin. Why is it “f-ing retarded” to wave a flag out of pride for the country your family came from?

You act as if it's just by coincidence, and that he probably always has the flag or something. And no it's not his right, because he's on the job, and the company says it's against their policy (as it should be).

If he's just another guy celebrating his heritage with a flag on the roof of his personal car that's entirely different than a local mainstream news cameraman waving a flag at an illegal alien rally where Mexican flags are regularly (and without reason) waved.

But it’s my right, or duty, to point out how f-ing retarded it is, to escape your crappy country, sneak in to ours illegally, then openly demand OUR rights, while waving THEIR flag.

What does this have to do with the cameraman? He is a legal U.S. citizen and does indeed have the right to wave the flag from his family's origin. Why is it "f-ing retarded" to wave a flag out of pride for the country your family came from?

If Mexico is so great, why are you here demanding OUR rights?

Again, still the cameraman or no? U.S. citizens can wave flags from their country of origin if they wish. If my Scottish friend wants to wave a Scottish flag I don't care, even if he was illegal I wouldn't care--show pride in the country generations of your family came from if you want to.

Wave flags of your former countries all you want, but it makes absolutely no sense to wave the flag of a country that sucked so bad you had to illegally sneak in to a neighboring one!?

Let me make this as clear as I can for you: You can be proud of your heritage and love the country you live in, and it is your choice to wave whatever flag you want. Get it? This isn't a "liberal" way of thinking, if anything it's libertarian.

Oh, and let me get this straight, NBC only punished him because of people like me?

RightWinged on May 2, 2007 at 10:10 PM

I didn't say that's what they did. I began the sentence with the word "maybe." You don't know they "agreed with you" so much as you don't know they punished the guy simply to placate you.

And by the way, we do have a right to protest (even for the right to do illegal things).

Nonfactor on May 2, 2007 at 8:05 PM

Not if you're an illegal alien you don't. And yes, I had moved on to the issue of others (not just the cameraman) waving the flag, though it's all related. He's supposed to be a journalist covering the event, not cheering on illegal aliens who are demanding OUR rights while waving THEIR flag.

Now I have to ask you, are you just employing the usual liberal dishonesty tactics, or are you really as f-ing stupid as your comment implies? In reference to

To be frank, RightWinged, when you make statements like this you sound like a loon. People are free to wave their country’s flag in this country.

Where did I say people didn't have that right? Illegals have no right to be here period, but legal people have the right to do that. But it's my right, or duty, to point out how f-ing retarded it is, to escape your crappy country, sneak in to ours illegally, then openly demand OUR rights, while waving THEIR flag. Obviously you don't get it. It's not like it's a Mexican Day Parade, or some other Mexican holiday. Are you getting this yet? It's the venue. If Mexico is so great, why are you here demanding OUR rights? I'm just stunned at the stupidity, so I'm going to have to assume it's just your liberalism forcing you to be this dishonest, because you have absolutely no point here. Wave flags of your former countries all you want, but it makes absolutely no sense to wave the flag of a country that sucked so bad you had to illegally sneak in to a neighboring one!? Am I getting through here yet Nonfactor?

Oh, and let me get this straight, NBC only punished him because of people like me? Not because they have a policy against that sort of behavior, and needed to act when it was brought to their attention. You can assume this so easily, while at the same time attacking me for assuming that the camerman was flying his flag in support of the illegals, and not just in general to celebrate his heritage? Yeah, I know, it was just a coincidence that he happened to be covering that event, right?

Why don’t we start selling tshirts with the word “caucasian” on them? How about a tshirt that says “The white race”?

There is nothing racist about that either. "La Raza" is mainly used for ethnic pride and in no way discriminates against another race. I can't believe how offended some of you people get.

Lol! Do a technorati search of 'la raza' and see what you turn up.

This site's my favorite: page 3 of a google search. Look who he's blaming for his problems:

It’s definitely not racism to say “Latino” or “La Raza;” I don’t know how anyone could interpret those words to be racist.

Yeah, well don't abandon your objectivity either. "The race" isn't racism??? Have you read MEChA's charter: "For those in the race, everything. For those outside the race, nothing." Nothing to see there, lol! Just replace 'latino' with 'white' with all these news posts and see how far your subjectivity goes.

Exactly, you quoted me out of context.

Again, no I didn't. I quoted an entire sentence (and entire point for that matter) and responded to it. If you didn't want me to respond to that sentence you could've left it out.

don’t come here and wave your crappy country’s flag while demanding OUR constitutional rights

I refer again to my first post. To be frank, RightWinged, when you make statements like this you sound like a loon. People are free to wave their country's flag in this country.

It’s a matter of don’t put the flag of your country in my face, in the context of demanding OUR constitutional rights for Mexican criminals, especially when you’re working for a mainstream news organization.

Talk about taking things out of context. A guy shows a flag of his country of origin and you take it to mean whatever you want. I'm grinning at how ironic this is.

I’m not saying they should be waving American flags, they shouldn’t be out in the open protesting at all, because the entire issue is stupid.

We're still talking about cameramen, right? Or did you move on to a separate subject so you could rant for a bit?

Hey, why don’t I go out and protest because I want the right to shoot people, or protest because I want the right to deal drugs!

I smell a red herring! And by the way, we do have a right to protest (even for the right to do illegal things).

Bottom line is, NBC agreed with me and punished their employee.

RightWinged on May 2, 2007 at 3:54 PM

Who's to say they agreed with you? Maybe they punished the guy (and remember, you don't even know the punishment) simply to placate people like you who won't shut up until you know that your complaining did something?

As a resident of California, I no longer can.

I live in Southern California too and it doesn't force me to abandon my subjectivity.

I’d love to take you down to the garment district in Los Angeles and show you all of the shirts proclaiming “la raza” that are for sale. Or show you the signs for radio stations named “Latino” or “Raza.” If it’s not racism, what is it?

I've seen the shirts, and by the looks of your post I'm sure they represent something different to you than they do to me. It's definitely not racism to say "Latino" or "La Raza;" I don't know how anyone could interpret those words to be racist.

In regard to immigration reform, I'm all for it.

I'm all for reforming the government so that it will actually enforce the laws. I'm all for reforming the process so that an illegal who is ordered deported is immediately taken directly from the court to the border. I'm all for reforming the response so that a second-strike illegal goes to jail, does directly to jail, and never gets out. I'm all for reforming the law so that a baby born in the U.S. does receive American citizenship, but this would have absolutely no effect whatever on the status of it's parents; let the term "anchor baby" go to the same linguistic boneyard as "buggy whip" and "twenty-three skiddoo".

That kind of reform, I can support. The "reform" these illegals are demanding is not reform, it is abject surrender.

Out of context? I quoted an entire sentence. You could’ve removed that sentence if you didn’t want anyone responding to it. The section I quoted was basically the thesis of your entire post–you don’t think people should be waving any flag besides the U.S. Flag, you don’t think the Constitution should apply to non-citizens, you think that if people like a country so much they should live there (as I type that I’m reminded how childish that sounds “if you like her so much why don’t you marry her”).

Exactly, you quoted me out of context. Because that is a very important point, don't come here and wave your crappy country's flag while demanding OUR constitutional rights. Guy, this isn't opinion, this is common f-ing sense! It's not as simple as "why don't you marry her" at all, and you're the only one childish here, because you lack critical thinking skills. It’s a matter of don’t put the flag of your country in my face, in the context of demanding OUR constitutional rights for Mexican criminals, especially when you’re working for a mainstream news organization. I’m not saying they should be waving American flags, they shouldn’t be out in the open protesting at all, because the entire issue is stupid. Hey, why don’t I go out and protest because I want the right to shoot people, or protest because I want the right to deal drugs! Bottom line is, NBC agreed with me and punished their employee.

Nonfactor, you’re as dishonest as ever. You took one part of my quote out of context so you could ignore the larger point that buried you.

Out of context? I quoted an entire sentence. You could've removed that sentence if you didn't want anyone responding to it. The section I quoted was basically the thesis of your entire post--you don't think people should be waving any flag besides the U.S. Flag, you don't think the Constitution should apply to non-citizens, you think that if people like a country so much they should live there (as I type that I'm reminded how childish that sounds "if you like her so much why don't you marry her").

I'll check it out.

is your Scottish friend here illegally and is he waving it in support of those breaking the laws of our country?

EnochCain on May 2, 2007 at 12:52 AM

No, my Scottish friend is not here illegally, but neither is the cameraman (I expect), and how do you know the cameraman is waving his country of origins flag because he is "in support of those breaking the laws" and not simply because he is proud of where his family came from?

There is no reason to be waving a Mexican flag at these events, NONE!

To display the mexican flag at these protests does not say...
.
The only American LAW I broke is crossing the border. I would be PROUD to be an American citizen FIRST with a mexican heritage second.
.
What it says is...
.
The BORDER CROSSED ME when you WHITE people STOLE OUR LAND and we are going to take it back by Illegal Immigration, over population by birth rates, using your lunatic left wing liberal party or all of the above.
