The way she sniffles - she’s so gross. That lady nodding her head in agreement with so much nonsense, precious. And her head being cut off most of the time…

I can’t believe I watched this. Good thing the comments there are closed.

I agree entelechy, I couldn't take watching the whole thing, it was sickening! Those trolls behind "Jabba-the-Hut" knodding in agreement to all her ignorant drivel, obviously their paycheck is more important to them than integrity, but then again they're probably too ignorant to know the difference between BS and the truth!

All the while queen bee Jabba is sniffling and snorting like a pig, I found myself wanting to yell, "sueey...sueey...here piggy piggy.."

If you ever saw a blacksmith at work, say making a horseshoe, you know he has to heat the metal to make it more pliable. The smith puts the iron into the fire (until it glows), and it’s still quite solid. But it’s less hard at high temperatures, easier to bend into shape with a hammer.

So it is with steel. At near room temperature, steel resists bending, keeping its shape under heavy loads. In buildings, the steel is typically strong enough to hold 50% more load than its worst-case scenario. But when heated high enough, but still below its melting point, the steel can lose more than half its strength. And if the steel (as in beams) were forced to handle more than its normal load, say by the loss of other beams from a jumbo jet smashing into the building, the total strength left in the beam may be insufficient for the load.

This is why the towers fell. Nothing had to melt.

You're exactly correct stonemeister.
I'd like to add, steel doesn't just melt, in a coal forge it can actually burn, it oxidizes to nothing.

Isn't it about time for this fat lady to sing?

You see, that catch-phrase is really a reference to the late Kate Smith singing at sporting events, it is about Brunhildde, who sings farewell amid the consuming flames of her funeral pyre in the final scenes of Wagner's "The Valkyrie". Yeah, the chick in the horned helmet and brass bra that appears in virtually every cartoon about opera.

RO could go out in a blaze of glory in a steel mill!! Oh, the irony.

Disclaimer: my knowledge of opera and German spelling is shakey, but sufficient for these purposes.

Having a bad case of insomnia this a.m. so I logged on to catch the latest headlines. Why?, why Bryan did you have to post that horrific vid of Ro & pals, I may never sleep again! Every time I shut my eyes all I see are those things looking back at me. And Ro's comment on having 6 beers on "date night" sent me into a perpetual shudder.

I just couldn’t resist mentioning this. You don’t have to “melt” steel to weaken it. Melting means changing steel’s physical state from solid to liquid. However, solid steel has different properties at different temperatures, while still not being melted.

I'm sure that you could explain this to her in detail for hours on end, and her reaction would be something like, "Well, the Bushies let the Bin Laden family fly out of the country. Google it," in spite of the fact that Richard Clarke approved their exit. The facts don't really matter.

Obviously the Bay Area Bridge was brought down by controlled demolitions and then a tanker truck set alight on it just to embarass Rosie the Rocket Scientist.

Rove is just that evil.

Everyone knows steel is impervious to fire. It is bent by massaging it, just like Uri Geller used to do to bend them there spoons.

Do I have to explain EVERYTHING to you people?

In the case of the Twin Towers, the steel didn't need to "melt"... that is, it didn't need to liquefy to lose its strength. It only needed to heat to the point that it lost its rigidity. With the windows knocked out at nearly the top of a skyscraper and the wind blowing through and a jet load of fuel to burn, that was pretty close to being a blast furnace and plenty hot enough to weaken the steel.

Of course, that might be a little too complex for Rosie.

In the case of the Twin Towers, the steel didn’t need to “melt”… that is, it didn’t need to liquefy to lose its strength.

Waffles would be only too happy to have Rosie’s support, even if it means rolling around in the Truther mud with her.

Perhaps he's hoping to make RO more appetizing by slathering on buckets of wifey's ketchup.

I just couldn't resist mentioning this. You don't have to "melt" steel to weaken it. Melting means changing steel's physical state from solid to liquid. However, solid steel has different properties at different temperatures, while still not being melted.

If you ever saw a blacksmith at work, say making a horseshoe, you know he has to heat the metal to make it more pliable. The smith puts the iron into the fire (until it glows), and it's still quite solid. But it's less hard at high temperatures, easier to bend into shape with a hammer.

If she spontaneously combusts, I predict more than steel with melt.

How can such a pile of pigheaded ignorance, a woman who was once incapable of calculating fractions on the air but now passes herself off as an authority on structural engineering, possibly just pass quietly into the night?

You can't just discount the fact that she is a world renowned structural engineer. I hear she builds a mean gingerbread house. Of course I have no photographic evidence to support this, because according to unnamed sources inside The View, she usually eats the entire house before she's finished building it, and then smokes a candy cigarette with satisfaction.
