Photo of the Day: The Democrats’ Truther Problem

The Republicans have a war problem in 2008, but so do the Democrats. They’re just different war problems, reflecting the polarity of the two parties’ support bases.

For the GOP, it’s the fact that the base supports the war while most of the country just wants to be out of it.

For the Democrats, it’s a Truther problem. Until the major Democrat presidential candidates refute these Truther clowns, they’ll find themselves in photos like this one or videos like the one in which John Kerry acts like he’s never heard the bark of a raving moonbat before. These vignettes make their whole party look stupid. The problem is, as soon as the Democrat presidential candidates do refute the Truthers, they’ll see some of their most motivated support start melting away to the likes of Dennis Kucinich.

I still believe Barack Hussein Obama is a muslim so I don’t get all the hoopla with “his minister.” He doesn’t even attend that church regularly.

Nothing the moonbats say or do surprises me anymore. They are an abomination to my country.

Well, it’s going to be an interesting election season given your post above. I think the republicans may have a bit of an advantage or at least an easier time in that the war may (given the fortitude and bravery of our beloved troops) take a turn for the better. The democraps on the other hand have to deal with a base who’s insane hatred of President Bush is beyond help (or treatment). I think those truther signs will be around for a long time, even posted near our polling places I fear…

Wait…this is a problem HOW?

I wonder if anyone will use this in any campaign add…..? The “Magic Negro”, indeed….. what does that make Hillary, “The Magic CarpetBagger”?

PinkyBigglesworth on April 30, 2007 at 10:57 PM

Yeah, that’s a shame, isn’t it? I can’t wait for the “INVESTIGATE I-880!” signs to show up.

Or maybe these things are only fun to the Truthers when there’s blood on them.

Blacklake on April 30, 2007 at 11:04 PM

Is this the secret reason why the WTC haven’t been rebuilt?

To keep the Truthers in business?

profitsbeard on April 30, 2007 at 11:07 PM

These vignettes make prove their whole party look is stupid.

There, that’s better.

infidel4life on April 30, 2007 at 11:08 PM

These vignettes make their whole party look stupid.

You mean, they’re not stupid?

The problem is, as soon as the Democrat presidential candidates do refute the Truthers, they’ll see some of their most motivated support start melting away to the likes of Dennis Kucinich.

This assumes that “their most motivated support” … doesn’t believe 9/11 was an inside job. I’m not sure about the East Coast, but on the West Coast, it seems like 80% of the Democratic base worships Loose Change. I don’t think you’re going to see any Democratic candidate take up the issue, because they know to deny it would be suicide.

Gregor on April 30, 2007 at 11:08 PM

I would say its a one two punch for the left. The wishy washy opposition to the Iraq campaign will help them at this point. Where they do face a problem is that people aren’t gonna wanna go the direction the left actually wants to go, as in, grab ankles in the name of “dialogue”.

The people might think Iraq was a big f*ckup and hate it and want out, but there is no way they are about to go the left’s route and be a bunch of total pushovers, especially with Iran edging closer to getting nukes and promising to wipe Israel off the map, which we all know would set the entire mideast on fire, the consequences would be unspeakable.

Plus you’ve got the Truthers, which is the closest you can get to Holocaust Deniers today, they’re nuts, and there ain’t much else to be said about them. Whatever, I hope they embarrass the hell out of whoever the Dem nominee is.

Bad Candy on April 30, 2007 at 11:16 PM

Gregor, I have a hard time imagining that Trutherism is as prevalant on the Eastside, of course I could be wrong. A few of the real big hotbeds of liberalism in the Northeast are Mass, NY and NJ and DC.

I can’t imagine there are too many Truthers in NY and NJ, as a lot of them were effected personally by 9/11. Or maybe they are afraid to be as loud about it for fear of getting cracked across the skull by someone who lost someone or watched it happen or had friends or family who did, or even survivors or rescuers.

DC, you would think with the Pentagon, but DC is such a crackpot place, and they didn’t have the jarring kind of event that NY had (and NJ by extension because of all the commuters)

So in conclusion, I’d have to say probably not, but I’m speculating, but then again, liberals are very good at denying reality…

Obama does have a religion problem…

Either he’s Moslem….

Or part of an African centric racist church….

or he’s a hypocrite…

Take yer pick…

“Magic carpetbagger”. Like it. Like it a lot.

Barntender on April 30, 2007 at 11:57 PM

The Truthers are a growing problem for the Left. At the big anti-war demonstrations in Washington, a couple years ago there were only a half dozen Truther groups waving their nutty banners, indistinguishable from the other crazed moonbat groups. However, at this last March 27 demonstration, the March on the Pentagon, the Truthers were all over it like flies on a cow patty. There is a Truther born every minute and they all cluster around the anti-war movement, their respective paranoid conspiracy theories being different only by degree.

My prediction is that the Truthers will become the crazy aunt of the Democrat campaign, except she’s not locked up in the attic but running loose in the streets.

Although the GOP isn’t looking to be in great shape, the Democrats have another HUGE problem going into 2008.

Bush isn’t running.

C’mon Bryan, have you forgotten what the Dem strategy is? “If you ignore the problem long enough, it will go away” – plus, as you noted above with the Kucinich statement, it’s all about the votes.

Rick on May 1, 2007 at 12:21 AM

the Democrats have another HUGE problem going into 2008. Bush isn’t running.

You actually make a good point G Lt. They have invested SO much of their time, talent, ant treasure hating Bush that I think it will have an immunizing quality on the next GOP standard-bearer. I can’t see America accepting a transfer of BDS onto someone else.

Yes, and that makes Edwards “The Magic Faggot”. But greasy Joe will always be greasy Joe.

csdeven on May 1, 2007 at 1:02 AM

OK, it’s almost official:

Obama: The “Magic Negro”

Hillary: The “Magic CarpetBagger”

Edwards: The “Magic Faggot”

Joe: “Greasy Joe”, or my pick “Greasy Joe Skid Marks”, that puts a whole new meaning to his smirk…

I don’t even know who else is running, and I really don’t care, these nick names are money…… anyone else?

PinkyBigglesworth on May 1, 2007 at 2:51 AM

Since Truthers have such heartfelt concern for justice, the MSM will not only give them a pass but will help move their insanities into the mainstream of “respectable” debate. It’s already happening. This will allow the Dhimmi candidates to discuss Truthiness without being accused of being clinically insane (by the MSM). Same pattern as happened with the Save Saddam marches (dishonestly labeled “anti-war”) and all the disgusting blame-Israel moonbattery, not to mention the mainstreaming of outright treason (which I partly blame the Bush administration for not doing anything about it). Handmaidens of evil, like Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan, aren’t popular for no reason. The Truthers have made great inroads in the last year, and I’m sure they’ll continue.

Oh, man. This is so far ahead of shooting yourself in the foot. You know what the Democrat primaries make me think of?

A bunch of loonies in a room full of grenades, and someone told them one of the grenades has a magic pin that will grand them three wishes if they pull it!

Merovign on May 1, 2007 at 5:15 AM

Merovign on May 1, 2007 at 5:15 AM,

I hear the pins pulled in unison. Then the whispering of the wishes. Then the boom.

Hillary is being cagey. She is running as the sane one.

A Dem candidate could end up using the Truthers for a “Sister Soldja” moment. Yes, they’d lose the extreme left nutjobs but those that tend to hover just left of center and take the terrorism threat even mildly serious would flock to them. There were a lot of left-leaning Bush voters in 2004 who feared the terrorists threat and didn’t trust Kerry enough to vote for him. I think a lot of them left in 2006 and the sensible Dem candidate to pull this could win them.

Of course, that can all be out the window if George Soros truly has bought and paid for the Dem Party as his organization claims.

Faith1 on May 1, 2007 at 7:49 AM

Eh this could be an advantage though. They wait til after the nomination then denounce them for a cliche Sistah Soljah moment. Sure they’ll lose a couple of moonbat votes but others will pop an extra Zoloft and vote for them anyway.

Dash on May 1, 2007 at 8:10 AM

It is not a problem. It is simply an expression of who they are and what they believe. They have encouraged and participated in the conspiracy mongering by embracing Michael Moore, with things like “Bush lied,” “Blood for oil,” “Haliburton,” “Patriot Act,” “Oil price fixing,” “Two Americas”, “Diebold”, “Voter fraud,” etc., etc. The list goes on and on.

TheBigOldDog on May 1, 2007 at 8:10 AM

Didn’t I just recently see a news article saying that the IRS has been sending out letters to churches warning them about political activity and threatening their tax exempt status?

Must have only been sent to churches where white conservatives attend, apparently…

as soon as the Democrat presidential candidates do refute the Truthers

They’re not going to refute them. Democrats will double down, just like they have on Iraq and human-created global warming. Even when the NY Times discussed Iraq’s nuclear program (in the context of criticizing the Bush administration for putting some info about it on a website, because then Iran had access to the info) the Dems never even paused their “Bush lied about WMD!” mantra. They’ll do it in a neutral way, saying that the claims are interesting, that “there may be something to it, not sure yet but we’re looking into it.” Because, after all, it’s plausible that the “scandal-ridden” Bushco could have done that, and more.

The truther movement is just getting started, because the Democrats have mastered the art of the Big Lie.

You just beat me to it Laura!
The Dems have sold their souls, they wish 9/11 would go away and that everyone would forget about it, but blaming it on Bush is the next best thing.
They will make it fit into their agenda to get what they want. They could give a damn about this country!

lynnv on May 1, 2007 at 7:29 AM

According to the rules followed by the Muslim umma, that makes him either a Muslim or an apostate from Islam. Neither one is optimal IMHO, for different reasons.
