[...] Talk about sinking to a new low. On Face The Nation today John Murtha ponders using impeachment as a bargaining chip to get the President to bend to the will of Congress. These are the same people that claim that President Bush is misusing his power and yet their misuse of power is somehow ok. The constitutional article on impeachment says “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” So by the Democrat definition of an impeachable offense being not agreeing with your opposition most of the Dem’s should have been gone years ago. Yet I almost want them to try because if they do then they will lose the House and Senate so fast it will make their head spin, and they can kiss the White House Goodbye. Ok, I thought I was hearing things . . or rather not hearing things. Let’s play, ‘What’s number 2?’

I was referring to C, actually.

The man is loco. If you have like minds in the Congress and the Presidency, there is no exercise of a veto necessary.

The separation of powers was created for exactly this reason. If you have two disparate philosophies between the executive and legislative branch, there is 1) The veto; 2) Congress’ ability or inability to override the veto.

Nowhere in the constitution does it say that the President and Congress have to agree. If the Congress doesn’t agree but cannot override the veto, viola! Compromise Constitution style.

Our founding fathers did not live in a utopia. They played politics with naked blades and guns — dueling was commonplace — and made the separation of powers to preserve the rule of law.

All we hear about from the left for six years is how Bushco is dismantling the Constitution and the fourth Reich is on it’s way. Now that they are in power, all the Donks have shown is a prediliction for ignoring the Constitution and trying to take over the Executive Branch.

Not to add any credibility to this fools ideology, but just how have the Democrats EVER compromised on anything?

BTW, I know someone who personally sat in this tools office, no more than four feet away, trying to explain the need for, well, something important.

He left the meeting looking at his aides and handlers in disbelief, that he had wasted his time, “This guy belongs in a retirement home……” was his parting words.

A President’s refusal to compromise as to a matter within the President’s constitutional responsibilities as Commander in Chief is not an impeachable offense.

Mutha’s comment shows how power-hungry and irresponsible the Democrats are. Murtha is the one who should be removed from office.
