A PETA representative being interviewed on radio was asked why they don’t put their energy to end the destruction of human children through abortion. The reaction was, “why bother saving another meat eater”.

Just another feel good group that would rather see the Third World suffer rather than get the nutrition they need to survive and lead a healthy life.

Hening on April 29, 2007 at 8:54 AM

Nice one, Bryan.

Exit question: Should people be afraid of a racism accusation if they ask for white meat only?

Freelancer on April 29, 2007 at 9:01 AM

Let’s see, liberals the nut cases would rather save a chicken or the likes of Stanley “Tookie” Williams than an unborn child.

It’s all about priorities people.

SPIFF1669 on April 29, 2007 at 9:42 AM

How about recognizing OUR rights first before we start passing them out to the rest of animaldom. Most animals have built-in self defense mechanisms – claws, teeth, speed, stink, strength, flight, etc – but all we as people have is our intelligence and the devices we can conjure up to that end. That’s one reason we have things like the right to keep and bear arms.

Animals get to eat other animals, too. Those that cannot digest grass rely on other animals to eat the grass – then they eat them just like we do. You see, we’re ALL herbivors – either directly or by proxy.

Ever notice people who eat only vegatables have more gas than those who eat balanced diets or more meat than veggies? Eat a bowl of beans one day, then eat ham, eggs, chicken, and beef a couple days later and prove it to yourself. (You’ll need a couple days in between to recover from the beans!)

I continue to wonder why a fringe – incredibly radical group like PETA gets the attention in the MSR?? Their statements are utterly among the most stupid that I have ever heard, yet even Fox News (Hannity in particular) continues to invite these idiots to spew the nonsensical crap that they emit.
Wait a minute…..MSR? – - PETA? – - Radicals? – - Attention? – - I’m sorry, it happens every single day!!

awwwww dammit Trent, I know you’re.. delightfully eccentric.. on a lot of things, but it’s such a shame to see you in a PETA

Reaps on April 29, 2007 at 10:44 AM

The spiteful loons at PETA are so repugnant that the only people who would consider joining their cause (besides spiteful loons) are Hollywood celebrities. One has to give them credit for providing cheap entertainment. They are very high on my list of People To Laugh At.

packsoldier on April 29, 2007 at 10:47 AM

wow. My little finger hit the tab key as I was typing, which resulted in me hitting the spacebar, which resulted in a half-done message. Only had two letters to go, too.. ‘ad’

Anyhoo, might as well make this one worth posting.

It’s just a shame that any valid point peta might have about anything is rendered null and void by their obscene method of pushing their point across.

That, and yes the fact that they seem to kill more animals than they save doesn’t help either..

Anyhoo, 3-post spam so I’ll call it a night. Apologies.

Ya know I don’t think God gave me Binocular vision, and incisor teeth, just so I could stalk down, and kill and eat some poor, defenseless broccoli plant.

That being said I think Fur Farms are a horrible industry. I am not opposed to trapping and hunting, but certainly some types of farming could be revised and looked at.

Now, That being said I AINT gonna take off my clothes to protest. (Most of you should be thankful!)

PETA is filled with mostly liberal folks who would easily call Christians “fanatics” while acting fanatical themselves. A true fanatic is one who loses sight of their goal by overemphasizing the means to achieve that goal.

As

If chickens weren’t meant to be eaten, why do they taste like chicken?

lorien1973 on April 29, 2007 at 11:08 AM

According to PETA, Jesus was a vegetarian. They had a big PR campaign built around this claim a few years ago. Of course, they have to ignore the Bible to make such a claim.

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

I forget the author, but the message surely sticks!

That being said I think Fur Farms are a horrible industry.

Hmmm, cattle, chickens and other produce are also raised in close confinement.

PETA is filled with mostly liberal folks who would easily call Christians “fanatics” while acting fanatical themselves.

More Christian bashing. Why is it to some that only Christians are the best example of fanaticism? Muslims are a much better example.

Sign possiblities:

Chicken just tastes better when its been poorly treated!

Just be happy we aren’t eating you, hippie.

I guess the answer is to just close the farms and go hunting…

Hey, it could be Kentucky Fried Baby Seal!

Go away hippie, your odor is ruining my lunch.

You stand there in the cold with no shirt on, sweetie, I’ll sit inside and enjoy the taste of sweet, sweet murder. (yeah I know probably doesn’t fit on the sign…half of these probably don’t, whatever, its fun)

PETA KILL DOGS AND LOVE TERRORISTS

uptight on April 29, 2007 at 12:17 PM

I believe that to honor their beliefs that all animal rights activists should voluntarily forgo modern medical treatments, as they involve the use of animal trials.

In fact, I would make it MANDATORY that no animal rights activist (especially the paid-up members of the terrorist group known as PETA) be allowed to receive any medical treatment (procedure or drug) developed since 1900. I pick 1900 as an arbitrary time before the use of live animal for medical experiments.

Goodness knows that I would hate for such people to be treated using processes or medicines made out of the pain of innocent animals — it just wouldn’t be right.

So, if a PETA member gets appendicitis, or pneumonia, or a heart attack, or cancer, or whatever, they’ll have to deal with it the way people did in the 19th Century. No drugs for them!

I also think that PETA’s leader, Ingrid Newkirk, should be confined in “Club-Gitmo” with the rest of the terrorists.

very true. i had forgotten that part…

jummy on April 29, 2007 at 12:22 PM

DOn’t forget the anti GM foods. (Genetically Modified.)
USA donated food was shipped to Zambia as emergency humanitarian aid for a severe famine (due to a prolonged drought). Euro ant-GM “advocates” blocked the distribution of it. People were rioting to get the food, so desperate they were. Cannot find the words that fully describes the contempt that these dispicable “enlightened” men and women deserve – blocking food from starving people in Africa.
And they whinge about Darfur, (because it’s a political club to use against the US) but the moment came elsewhere, and they showed just how much they care about the Africans and their suffering.

Kinda gross actually. Which is what PETA is going for. The more you try to humanize animals – the less palatable they become.

I live near PETA HQ in Norfolk. One Saturday after returning from a nice lunch at a local BBQ place I snatched a bunch of bumper stickers from the BBQ place–about 20 at a buck a piece.

I cruise by the PETA HQ parking lot. Slip out and begin slipping the stickers under the windshield wipers. Was about done when the cop showed up and asked what was I doing. I showed him the bumper sticker.

“There’s room for all God’s creatures….right next to the potatoes.”

He laughed so hard I though he was going to choke. He said I’d better move along because if they saw me they would raise holy hell. He said, and I quote, “They’re batshit crazy ad I don’t need the paperwork today.”

I moved along.

Free Constitution on April 29, 2007 at 7:53 PM

I’m basically conservative.
I ran a pro-military/pro faith/pro USA blog for almost two years under my “handle”.
I’m a former ProtestWarrior too.
I’m anti- abortion/ pro death penalty and consider myself to be a slighty right of center Judeo-Protestant.

I also believe that fur is murder-and those that club to death(and sometimes skin alive) baby seals belong in the lowest levels of hell.
I don’t eat veal for moral reasons.
Ditto with sharks…my favorite creature.
I haven’t since I was a sophomore in high school.
I try not to buy lotion, shampoo, etc that was tested on animals.
I think gun are great for self-defense…but not if your using them to kill “Jaws” or ‘Bambi’s’ mother.
I don’t have pet cats-I have furry children(my son sees them that way too.)

I mention all this to point out that you can be pro-animal rights AND a proud Conservative.
Mutually exclusive they’re not.

Isn’t the fatted calf mentioned in the Bible as a sacrafice pleasing to God ?

sonnyspats1 on April 29, 2007 at 9:40 PM

annoyinglittletwerp,

No problem with animal lovers. Married to a devout Vegan. This thread is abotu slamming PETA. PETA has nothing to do with saving animals. They are all about publicity stunts and money raising–and slaughtering animals. Grab headlines, collect money for their anti-human cause and kill animals. That’s all they do. Oh, and living near their HQ you get the Petaheads spouting all the time around here and they really do hate humans. Their leader has been quoted many times that she felt at least half the human population should be exterminated.

I saw the Penn and Teller episode about them. Frankly, PnT went light on them.

However, bashing PETA and what you wrote can coexist.
