That’s good stuff. The lightbulb/car juxtaposition was brilliant.

The only problem is all of the viewers laughed, then promptly dismissed the point behind the rant.

dalewalt on April 27, 2007 at 1:08 PM

ROFL!!

Is your pole thinning?

Most probing question Diane ever asked.

BacaDog on April 27, 2007 at 1:09 PM

Brilliant.

TheBigOldDog on April 27, 2007 at 1:10 PM

All mI can think is ………..How Ironic………..

Rock on…………

doriangrey on April 27, 2007 at 1:19 PM

I am crying, oh I better bottle those, I can reuse those later.

Oh man where is my AC/DC album?

americaslaststand on April 27, 2007 at 1:20 PM

I wish he weren’t such a Bush-hater because Lewis Black is one funny dude!
Love his rants!

Their minds won’t be changed overnight, just as they didn’t buy into the whole “man-made” global warming scare overnight either – which is exactly why we need more ridiculing rants by Lewis Black, et al.

Now, if we could just get Christopher Buckley to write a book satirizing the global warming crowd …

He tears both sides up pretty good during his standup routines.

GO LEWIS!

journeyscarab on April 27, 2007 at 1:41 PM

I really like Lewis Black. I think he’s funny as hell.

Mortis on April 27, 2007 at 1:51 PM

Heh, he pretty much summed up my attitude on the Alvengelicals, don’t tell the plebes to start sacrificing if you’re living like a king and plan on continuing to.

Bad Candy on April 27, 2007 at 2:02 PM

Oh, shit. He’s a beauty. The Best:

(Damon) “If you’re house is anything like mine, …”

(Black) “Stop!”

Duh…

Is your pole thinning ?

NO …. MY POLE IS NOT THINNING …. THANK YOU! NO ONE’S POLE IS THINNING ! GLOBAL WARMING IS A FRAUD FOR HEAVEN SAKE ! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD ! THEY JUST WANT ANOTHER EXCUSE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY !

Maxx on April 27, 2007 at 2:20 PM

The only real practical way to reduce Human generated CO2 emissions is to reduce humans. That’s it. End of Story.

I personally sponsor the genocide in Darfur because it lessens that country’s carbon footprint. I’m a Mean Green. Im also selling the unused carbon credits of Dead Former Residents of Darfur (DFRoD’s) on Ebay.

BelchSpeak on April 27, 2007 at 2:21 PM

I’m one of those “crunchy cons” so I go completely ballistic when I hear a hollyweird libtard go off on how we could all be more “green”. I would challenge them to live the way my hubby and I do. They wouldn’t – they couldn’t.

foxforce91 on April 27, 2007 at 2:25 PM

Trust me, the points Black makes on this or any other issue, are never lost.

My personal favorite? His discussion of the Super Bowl Halftime show: “It was the sound of Chaos”

unamused on April 27, 2007 at 2:36 PM

I just think it’s creepy that Oprah actually already has a small army of Greenshirts.

Blacklake on April 27, 2007 at 2:40 PM

FUNNY! And it makes perfect sense.

Kini on April 27, 2007 at 2:49 PM

He looked like a more pleasant version of Stuart Smalley.

allie on April 27, 2007 at 2:59 PM

Black is a moonbat, but he’s extremely funny.

SAVE THE PLANET-KILL YOURSELVES!

tormod on April 27, 2007 at 3:20 PM

Funny. The joke is just by being celebrities and having multiple houses and cars and jets and such they put out more carbon emissions that any of us.

I saw an ad in Vanity Fair the other day. It said “71% of us believe in global warming, the other 29% are still trying to solve the “flat earth” issue.”

It really said that.

Rightwingsparkle on April 27, 2007 at 3:38 PM

The joke was the inane coverage of Earth Day.

I wasn’t able to play the video from Comedy Central, but I found the same vid on Youtube. For anyone else having trouble here it is.

Black is definitely funny. But he uses too many expletives in his routines. His theater audiences love it, but the TV viewers have to wade through a lot of bleeping.

I still can’t understand why today’s comedians find it necessary use an unabridged dictionary to be funny. I guess it’s the Lenny Bruce in them.

pocomoco on April 27, 2007 at 4:17 PM

Outstanding commentary. Mr. Lewis Black one funny guy. His routines always hit the nail on the head and he’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind, too funny

gringo on April 27, 2007 at 4:48 PM

It’s a shame cars don’t run on cognitive dissonance.

saw this when broadcast; thanks for letting me re-enjoy this line…

urbancenturion on April 27, 2007 at 5:53 PM

Dennis Miller pretty much shreds global warming alarmism in his hilarious routines.

Resolute on April 27, 2007 at 6:22 PM

LMAO “So there ya go advice on saving planet Earth from a bunch of people who couldn’t even save planet Hollywood.”

sonnyspats1 on April 27, 2007 at 8:51 PM

Wow, who knew Diane was into thin poles.

Anyone ever determine the damage the carbonated beverages do to the environment?

I’ve listened to so many rants in my life from various people that I can’t listen to any more, including Black’s and Carlin’s. But it’s nice to see that Black gets it right once in a while.

JimC on April 28, 2007 at 4:12 AM

I’ve never seen Lewis Black before, that rant was freaking hilarious,

thanks greggis for the link, I’m going to email that one!
