Tim, I think I've said clearly several times in my comments that it seems Islam itself is a problem facing people and nations who want to live and think freely. That's just one nasty verse in an entire sura of death and deceit; call at-Tauba as your witness, early and often. To repeat, I've never been given any trouble here for saying that it seems Islam itself is a problem; it's just a thing that needs saying with some politesse.
