Video: McCain calls for immediate withdrawal … from Somalia
posted at 3:05 pm on April 26, 2007 by Allahpundit
Some anti-war group dug these up and ‘Tubed ‘em. The McCain camp’s response:
“It’s intellectually dishonest to compare the situations in Haiti and Somalia to the current situation in Iraq,” said McCain spokesman Matt David. “Number one, we live in a post 9/11 world. Number two, we’re dealing with the volatility of the Middle East. And number three and most importantly, Haitians and Somalians do not want to follow us home and attack us on American soil.”
Well, actually, some of them do. But the other points are well taken. Knock McCain if you like for being short-sighted about the jihadist threat before 9/11, but there aren’t many of us who aren’t guilty on that count.
Amusing, though.
Here’s the Haiti clip, recorded a year later. It has no bearing on Iraq; I offer it simply as evidence that, until fairly recently, John McCain only owned one suit.

Even if Lost Aspen becoming SecDef eventually gave me a Congresscritter I could be at least somewhat-proud of?

One suit and an ugly pair of glasses.

McCain is irrelevent and will soon be the medias newest whipping boy, according to Howard Kurtz in todays WaPo. The Clintons have given their marching orders to the MSM to destroy him, and they are just doing their duty. They only love McCain when he’s trashing Bush or conservatives. Now that he’s standing by Bush on the war, he’s toast. They will also be destroying Obama very soon. The Clintons have tons of dirt on the MSM and aren’t afraid to hold it over them when necessary.

Somalians want to follow us home and impose Sharia law on Minneapolis.

McCain has no problem with this vid, as long as we are not 60 days from election time.

Everything changed on 9/11 – everybody gets a pass up to 9/10. After 9/11 there are no excuses!

Doesn’t matter. I’m still calling for Johnny Mac’s immediate withdrawal from his campaign for the presidency.
It’s not that I dislike the man. I just don’t trust him to faithfully represent my views. He’s definitely the sort of guy that would roll over on you if he thought he could pick up points from the liberals and the MSM.
I do honor him for his military service.

I do honor him for his military service.
While in the Navy he was a martinet, a backstabber and a liar. But no surprise there – a guy who is the son and grandson of four-star admirals is guaranteed to be a jerk when he’s in the Navy.
On top of that, he was a shitty pilot – perhaps his biggest crime.

Sorry, but I’m happy that the Libs are turning on McVain. This is what he gets for ever trying to appease them.
Don’t want him in the Prez race anyway.
But then, you all know how I feel on the subject already. ;)

If McCain keeps Shrillery and her MSM goons busy it will allow Fred! to quietly build up a considerable head of steam going into 08.
