OMG!! Too Frakkin Funny, you guys are the best!! LMAO!!

Viper1 on April 26, 2007 at 6:58 AM

That was fantastic! You all are so creative & the best! I will always think of your version when I watch “The Sound of Music” from now on.

Catie96706 on April 26, 2007 at 7:05 AM

Great Vent Michelle and Hot Air folk!

Best part was the end, I Love seeing Hot Air folk in their natural habitat. O’Donnell such a repugnant creature that it almost (but not quite) ranks down there with it’s sibling the Olberdouche troll. I look forward to when O’Donnell is nothing more than a forgotten episode in a cancelled show.

omegaram on April 26, 2007 at 7:16 AM

This has been a bit of a hard week for me here, but you guys were able to make me laugh and I’ve been smiling all morning with that song in my head. I can only think that Baba is secretly so relieved to have this terrible woman out of her life.
Now, who will replace the unhinged one? Someone as bad or even worse?

hoosierken on April 26, 2007 at 7:17 AM

WOW! What a classic. I thought maybe you would do something like this, ala Connie Chung. But this is spectacular! Stupendous! Outrageous! Creative! And Funny! You guys are the best.

As for Rosie, when will the fat lady sing? (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)

JohnnyD on April 26, 2007 at 7:26 AM

The HotAir Crew is up early this morning.

I had the pleasure of watching that video a couple hours ago at Michelle’s YouTube page before it was posted here. I thought it was good then too. Not as good as watching Michelle jump into the air forming letters but the year is still young.

iNeXuS on April 26, 2007 at 7:28 AM

Great stuff. Sure beats Rosie’s alleged poetry.

hillbillyjim on April 26, 2007 at 7:35 AM

BaBa WaWa: ” If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?”

Rosie: ” I wouldn’t be a tree; Trees have slender trunks and are majestic and grand. I would be….. A shrubbery.”

LegendHasIt on April 26, 2007 at 7:50 AM

Fire can melt steel and you can Google why – LOL!

We know one square is not enough for you – LOL!

You two are too funny!

TheBigOldDog on April 26, 2007 at 7:56 AM

P.S. Pretty decent singing and playing and great lyrics. (Who is the male?) Enjoyed the out-takes too. ;-)

LegendHasIt on April 26, 2007 at 7:57 AM

Surreal.

I enjoyed it ;-)

tdau1997 on April 26, 2007 at 8:06 AM

Awesomeness.

tikvah on April 26, 2007 at 8:11 AM

That still of Walters…

so… disturbing…

shudder

saint kansas on April 26, 2007 at 8:16 AM

Way to tickle the ivory MM. Very clear and clean. I’d like to hear that without the lyrics.

csdeven on April 26, 2007 at 8:19 AM

lol, very funny guys

Benaiah on April 26, 2007 at 8:38 AM

Obviously I’m familiar with the tune, but I can’t hear it without picturing not The Sound of Music but rather the opening credits to All in the Family.

Let me add that to the request list.

saint kansas on April 26, 2007 at 8:40 AM

I’m not sure about the singing quality, but the lyrics were good. Are you two going to become a lounge act in Vegas? j/k

That was a fun “tribute” to one of our favorite whipping girls. Am I allowed to say that? Too late, I have! ;-)

TwinkietheKid on April 26, 2007 at 8:41 AM

LOVED IT!

gradyman on April 26, 2007 at 8:57 AM

Singer, actress, pianist, author, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound…

RedWinged Blackbird on April 26, 2007 at 9:10 AM

I can’t hear it without picturing not The Sound of Music but rather the opening credits to All in the Family.

Ouch.

Bryan on April 26, 2007 at 9:13 AM

Nice vibrato, Bryan. MM is pretty darn good on the piano too.

For the next act, how about a piano duet with Condi Rice?

BacaDog on April 26, 2007 at 9:15 AM

That was a fun “tribute” to one of our favorite whipping girls. Am I allowed to say that?

Cool Whipping girls would be acceptable.

saint kansas on April 26, 2007 at 9:16 AM

Ugh! No more Rosie. Please. Enough is enough, already.

Lawrence on April 26, 2007 at 9:25 AM

I think ABC should cancel The View and replace it with the Michelle and Bryan Variety Show. You guys do it all, politics, comedy, music etc.

SAM 1X on April 26, 2007 at 9:26 AM

Umm…it was a great piece but after hearing Miss Malkin singing…I ummm…I want the video of her in a short plaid skirt back. :)

SuperManGreenLantern on April 26, 2007 at 9:28 AM

The Capitol Steps better watch out, there’s a new player in town! ;)

Malpaso on April 26, 2007 at 9:29 AM

SuperManGreenLantern on April 26, 2007 at 9:28 AM

How about a video of her playing the piano in a short plaid skirt? ;-)

(hides hoping that Mr. Malkin doesn’t know where I am)

saint kansas on April 26, 2007 at 9:16 AM

This IS a family website. I’ll spare you the rest of the thought because I now have to go wash my eyes with acid.

steveegg on April 26, 2007 at 9:55 AM

ok, that was the BEST!! What a great way to start my otherwise ho-hum day. YOU ROCK!

pullingmyhairout on April 26, 2007 at 9:56 AM

Man, you guys are on a roll this week! 2 in a row. Thanks for the morning smile.

austinnelly on April 26, 2007 at 9:58 AM

It rocked.

Valiant on April 26, 2007 at 10:07 AM

LMAO, BRAVO!!!

Play it again Michelle! I felt like I was in a smoky room having a scotch with Rick Blaine.

infidel4life on April 26, 2007 at 10:13 AM

Randy: It was a little pitchy in places…the lyrics were great, but the vocals were just aaight, dawg.

Paula: I could see your joy in the song, you really believed in it. I think it was wonderful, but a bit pitchy.

Simon: It sounded like some horrendous sendoff for a horrendous person. It was clearly very karaoke, but the lyrics made up for it.

stonemeister on April 26, 2007 at 10:17 AM

At least it was a better performance than Connie Chung’s fairwell ditty.

Privatestock on April 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM

Didn’t expect that! Wow! That took some guts! Brave people you are! Swan Song for Rosie!

Drtuddle on April 26, 2007 at 10:38 AM

What did you guys do with all the money?

Michelle and Bryan: What money?

The money for the singing lessons!!!

I keed, I keed.

Rich on April 26, 2007 at 10:41 AM

Michelle – great job on the keyboard!
Bryan – surprisingly good voice!

Might I suggest more musical numbers with Michelle on keyboard and Bryan on vocals?

KCSteve on April 26, 2007 at 10:54 AM

ROFL! “So long! Ching chong!”

JinxMcHue on April 26, 2007 at 11:02 AM

Wonderful! Hilarious! Even the bit of Spinal Tap at the end where you’re working out your harmonies!

Drum on April 26, 2007 at 11:08 AM

Brilliant!

Glynn on April 26, 2007 at 11:32 AM

Two days into the HA fiscal year…and TWO WINNERS already.

This is THE BEST EVAH!!!

shooter on April 26, 2007 at 11:33 AM

Loved it!

Definately a candidate in the 2007 “best of” catagory.

georgej on April 26, 2007 at 11:36 AM

What a thoughtful way to see off such a repugnant person. Excellent job Michelle and Bryan!! Congrats Babwa on ridding yourself and your show of Rosie!

Pestilence on April 26, 2007 at 11:43 AM

What a shame. Just when Rosie was starting to grow on us. Like a hairy wart on a wiches nose.

sonnyspats1 on April 26, 2007 at 11:45 AM

Ching Chong- So Long- She’s Gone- Take Behar along…
HAH! That was too funny!

gatewaypundit on April 26, 2007 at 11:46 AM

It was a little pitchy for me dogs. Y’know I’m just keepin’ it real man. It was like the worst kind of karaoke like when your drunken uncle gets up to sing …

Sorry! I’m over-idoled!

Ching Chong the *itch is gone …

LonelyMassRepublican on April 26, 2007 at 11:53 AM

Michelle – do you give piano lessons? ; )

Halley on April 26, 2007 at 12:21 PM

Ever have a pimple that just won’t go away? Its gone for a little while at least, but the pain and the puss will be back, I am sure.

Good stuff HotAir

americaslaststand on April 26, 2007 at 12:27 PM

Where’s the MM cheerleader vid?

It’s the only known antidote to Rosi-cea.

profitsbeard on April 26, 2007 at 12:30 PM

I can’t hear it without picturing not The Sound of Music but rather the opening credits to All in the Family.

Ouch.

I was referring not to the vocal timbre, of course, but to the old-timey side-by-side on my pYANN-oh keyboard duet arrangement. This is the best man, woman, and piano song I’ve heard since Elton John and Kiki Dee.

Mister, we could use a man like Ronald Reagan again…

saint kansas on April 26, 2007 at 12:38 PM

How about a video of her playing the piano in a short plaid skirt? ;-)

***falls out of chair***
You rule!

SuperManGreenLantern on April 26, 2007 at 12:41 PM

Now you can start rehearsing a video for RO’s inevitable return to the airwaves. How ’bout “The Bitch Is Back”?

repvoter on April 26, 2007 at 12:49 PM

Great performance and vid.

Any truth to the rumor that your next musical number will be November Rain by Guns N’ Roses?

ScottMcC on April 26, 2007 at 1:03 PM

Not bad on 2 days notice.

This one takes frontrunner position in next year’s ‘Best Vent’ vote. How long it will hold the lead is anyone’s guess.

moc23 on April 26, 2007 at 1:12 PM

This is silly. You guys don’t get it. Rosie is going to be back with a vengeance on some piece of crap syndication deal that will make her a very wealthy woman. She may be too hot for a show so closely tied to ABC but the fact is that they wanted her to sign for three more years because she got the ratings up something like 15% over the previous year.
Now Rosie (shudder) will go off with her high Q rating and executive produce a syndicated show that will allow her all the unfettered freedom she could want. She will make a ton of money playing to the moonbats and the vast number of the public who can’t even name the vice president.
Don’t kid yourself into thinking that you’ve got her scalp.

thegreatbeast on April 26, 2007 at 1:12 PM

Gotta say, this VENT is making the rounds…I’ve seen it going around MySpace, and other blogs and sites too. It’s being tagged as one of the funniest things ever! Great job on this one!

JetBoy on April 26, 2007 at 1:16 PM

Don’t kid yourself into thinking that you’ve got her scalp.

No question you’re right. Genetically altered supercockroaches in underground nuclear bomb shelters wish they had the chance of survival that Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg share.

saint kansas on April 26, 2007 at 1:40 PM

Brit Hume needs to end his show tonight with this… I don’t think anything else could be more appropriate :-)

rightg33k on April 26, 2007 at 1:47 PM

Best part?

“There it was.” -Bryan

jdpaz on April 26, 2007 at 1:54 PM

Allah could make a three part harmony. Allah a baritone or tenor?

Drtuddle on April 26, 2007 at 2:14 PM

Maybe Rosie can co-host Keith Olbermann’s show on MSNBC.

Co-Hostess HoHos Mmmmmmmmmm

americaslaststand on April 26, 2007 at 2:28 PM

Michelle, your talents never cease to amaze….

kevcad on April 26, 2007 at 3:06 PM

thegreatbeast, She already had her show and it bombed. The thing with the view, if you like the show but didn’t like Rosie, you had to put up with Rosie to watch the show. IF she has her own show, you can just not watch it. I guess. I dunno. She’s leaving the show and that’s ok with me. She’s just self destructive, and I’m not parroting anyone else’s opinion. It’s always been mine. She self destructed here, and she’ll do the same again and again as long as she has this hatred in her heart for herself.
The View’s ratings went up only during the Donald/Rosie thing, then they started back down. I’m glad she’s leaving. They could put a squealing pig in that chair and it would be better.

SuperManGreenLantern on April 26, 2007 at 4:10 PM

Love it.

The Ugly American on April 26, 2007 at 5:03 PM

BTW…did anyone else happen to catch “The Live Desk w/Martha Maccallum” yesterday and notice how they didn’t bleep the word “boner” from Rosie’s Matrix Awards speech?

Hmmmmm…….but Michelle gets bleeped for saying “balls”.

Veddy entelesting…..*puffs cigarette*

The Ugly American on April 26, 2007 at 5:21 PM

Brilliant!
Michelle, you and your guy …. you’re just the best!!!

Aylios on April 26, 2007 at 5:43 PM

“The Vent was filmed before a live audience.”

Yay, out-takes! :o)
You guys are the greatest. Thanks for a funny Vent.

Coronagold on April 26, 2007 at 6:45 PM

I just got a promotion at work, which means I haven’t had enough time to spend on HA lately… so I didn’t see this until I got home…. OHMYGOSH!!! This has got to be one of the *funniest* Vents ever!!!

dalewalt on April 26, 2007 at 8:31 PM

I see the obligatory Idol judging take-off was already posted, so I’ll just say excellent lyric arrangement, and courageous work.

Freelancer on April 26, 2007 at 8:48 PM

Very funny, and a very appropriate song. Nice voice Bryan and, Michelle, you are a very good piano player. However, you’re no Connie Chung. Just kidding ’cause that Vent was one of my all-time favorites.

thedecider on April 26, 2007 at 8:52 PM

That was brilliant! Bravo!!

I just flew in from North Georgia, sat at the computer, opened Hot Air and haven’t stopped laughing! What a gift of communication y’all have. Funny, clever, pointed, factual and all set to music. What more could one want? Thank you Michelle and Bryan… that was great.

(PS congratulations on the promotion dalewalt)

Zorro on April 26, 2007 at 9:15 PM

Talent plus and looks too! Oh, howdy Bryan.
What will happen to HotAir now that the evil one has finally gotten the stake through the belly treatment?
She’s set up to guesthost every so often-be prepared and don’t rest on your laurels.
Oh, while you’re at it, find something for AP to do instead of making eyes at KP’s photo.

tormod on April 26, 2007 at 9:21 PM
