7 p.m. ET on MSNBC, which has been running a countdown ticker since this morning. What a thrill it was to wake up to find there were only eleven and a half more hours until we learn the details of Bill Richardson’s health-care plan.
If you can’t make it to a TV, C-SPAN will be simulcasting the audio. As always, we’d appreciate a heads up if something clipworthy happens. If you see something, say something.
Here’s a little light reading while you wait. Are Fox and the CBC really planning to go ahead with an event whose big draw at this point stands to be Dennis Kucinich? Hard to believe, but there you go. If you’re not in a reading mood, try the video instead. It should set the right mood for the magic that’s about to happen.
Update: All right, by wide acclaim, here’s the highlight of the evening. He does know when to shut up!

The reaction when asked for a ’show of hands’ from anybody planning on supporting DK’s effort to impeach Cheney was priceless. I think I actually saw a tumbleweed rolling across the stage before being sucked in by the gravitational pull of Obama’s right ear.
I thought Byrd held a monopoly on producing a ‘pocket Constitution’ and going on diatribes, but I was mistaken. DK appears to have taken that mantle and is ready to run with it.
Unintentionally funny line of the night:

Could somebody post the video of a piece Cafferty did yesterday on CNN? He passionately blathers on about how we have to pull the troops out of Iraq now. That there is absolutely no point for them to be there dying. Then in the next two sentences he praises Michael Ware for his take on the situation there. Ware recently said the Democrats were delusional to think pulling the troops out anytime soon was even a possiblity. Finally, Cafferty raps up his rant by quoting Powell’s Pottery Barn doctrine about us ‘breaking it so now we own it’. Cafferty said about that analogy, “truer words were never said”. It’s amazing that this mental midget has no clue that from one sentence to the next he completely contradicts everything he supposedly ‘thinks’. I’d love to see the video of that insanity posted.

A radio announcer, this morning, called the event a “cattle call”, with Gore lurching behind the curtains.

It really is like 1988 all over again. Hopefully the final results will be similar.

Hillary looked pretty good, but nobody really looked exceptional. This Alaska guy is a hoot though. Was nice to see some diversity for a change.

You mean the Krazy Kucinich who warned from the get-go that our Iraq adventure would end in a great big f*** up? Right, what was he thinking, so much better to follow the likes of Dick (”ow! those flowers are exploding!!”)Cheney and Paul (”why can’t I give my squeeze the World Bank pin?”) Wolfowitz.
Cheney and Wolfy: I think I smell Medals of Freedom…

“I predict a mostly BDS bash party with lots of back slapping and “We did it we cause the US to leave Iraq” celebrations.”

Tim Russert was on NBC news just a while ago and he really drove home an important point -all the candidates are doing a great job running against “their common opponent -George W. Bush.” Even Brian Williams made a point of noting that they did a good job aligning themselves against the president.
Who wants to be the first to tell them GWB isn’t running in the ‘08 election?

You all just jealous, because you only have serial adulterers, a flip flopping mormon liar and McCain, who sadly has this idea that walking in a market, that was sealed hours ahead of time and swept, surrounded with 100 US troops (where are the Iraq forces?), with several black hawks circling and armor vehicles, means its ALL GOOD. HAPPY TALK. Unless the GOP candidates stop the BS propaganda and GET REAL and HONEST about the real future of Iraq, the next president will be a democrat, sorry, deal with it. The GOP is getting what it deserves by the american people. Too bad.
More republicans have abortions the Dems! ha ha ha. Prove I am wrong. You are ignorant, republicans and dems fall very close in polls about supporting Roe v Wade.
OK lets overturn Roe v wade, make it illegal for abortions. We’ll jail woman for 9 months if needed. Than we’ll have 1.2 million babies to deal with, every year, year after year. $360-trillion dollars in 10 years for the Republican NO ABORTION plan. Gee you are smart. While we are at it, outlaw Pre-marital sex. Arrest spring breakers. Lets STONE WOMAN TO DEATH THAT HAVE AFAIRS LIKE THE TALIBAN. WE NEED A THEOCRACY! That is what Jesus said, go out an make disciples by passing LAWS AND BECOMING THE GOVERNMENT. That is what Jesus would do. To heck with privacy and control over your own BODY.
NEWS FLASH Roe v Wade is widely supported by a majority of Americans, who must ALL be pro “baby killing”. In fact some mistresses of republican politicians have come out and said that they where told to get an abortion by there MAN. NICE! So it does have republican support. DONT BE A hypocrite. If you are having Pre-marital sex or sex not specifically for the purpose of procreation, SHUT UP! I hate abortion but than I don’t get to tell people what to do in the privacy of their bed room or with there Doctor, Darn. Nazi Germany and Communist USSR must have been GREAT!
You believe all the propaganda don’t you. Of course only republicans love america, hummmmmm. Right. You go with that foolish thought. You are big brave man on the web aren’t you. Such a big patriot, full of moral superiority.
Really! That is strong argument “BECAUSE”. WOW. Must be true, since Bush is so Great! Rudy, ha ha ha, one day, he’s going to milk it as long as he can.
Rudy took over 8 months after the first tower attacks and 8 years later, same faulty radios that where recommend to be changed, still there. He NEVER once had drills or an updated high rise rescue plan from the 30 year old one. Police and Firemen HATE HIM. Was told NOT TO put the command center in the WTC towers, but HE DID! Tried to change the state law and “extend” his term BECAUSE. Mayor Bloomberg took over Jan 1, 2002, and never needed Rudy again. Like Bush ignored the constitution and law, Rudy want to also to extend his term. NICE! Aces! His buddy Bernard Kerik, he recommends to Bush for Home land security head, even though he KNOWS about Kerik’s mob ties. Plus Kerik used a gov paid apartment for recovery 9/11 efforts to bonk his mistress! ha ha ha. Republican family values. I guess it make sense when Mark Foley, predatory homosexual pedophile is in charge of children’s safety against sex predators. Republican, a thing of beauty.
Look don’t be a total idiot, you have NO CLUE nor does the republicans or Bush, except for self serving propaganda you listen to, VOTE Dem and DIE!
The fear mongering using 9/11 to scare people is over. 6 years of all GOP control we got, incompetence, corruption, perversion, greed, deficit spending and bigger government. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
