So, as a political calculation, this was not much of a political calculation.

The very fact that political calculations are/s.b. considered when praying for these victims, in any form, is disgusting in and by itself.

To the exit question can be added the dangerous Soros and the Kennedy clan who off-shored their important trust funds. Taxes are for the other America, the one they claim to ‘support’, ‘feel for’ and ‘lead’, when in fact they exploit it and live off of like leeches.

I’m a Christian and I know every other religion is wrong.
So and so is Muslim and he knows that every other religion is wrong.
Somebody else is Jewish and he knows that every other religion is wrong.

The point of modern civilization is to discuss religious issues without degenerating into violence. This is possible with all religions with the exception of Islam. I’ve even had civil religious debate with a Satanist I used to work with.

Are prayers supposed to comfort? I thought they were to implore the God/Deity to whom one is praying to bestow comfort upon the grieving.
If someone is praying for me, I would hope he is sincere enough to pray to the God he believes in, in the manner he believes is correct.
An insincere prayer is surely not going to provide anything.

I would imagine his loved ones are already aware this country was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. Somehow, I doubt John’s “prayer” was a surprise unless it was in that it might reveal the man possibly has a soul.

Edwards is a fraud, we can agree on that at the outset. If he has a religion, and if that religion is Christianity, then that is the ONLY religion he needs include in ANY prayer, public or private.

When I pray for the peace and comfort of the surviving souls of this massacre, you can be certain I pray in Jesus’ name, because I believe He is the one true God. Why on earth would I pray to, for, or in behalf of something I don’t accept, that I don’t believe has real spiritual power to affect change?

In his story, [Politico's Mike] Allen tells how Edwards only decided to do a prayer at all after talking with a political consultant. (I guess Edwards didn’t have time to take a poll.) This consultant is a “strategist for reconnecting with the long-lost Reagan Democrats.”
