I’m not saying do what you are sarcastically suggesting, although that is exactly what would happen (if not worse) to Christians in a Muslim country.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and I wonder often how such a (to me at the time) beautiful movement with such high ideals became such a champion and purveyor of hate, discrimination and murder.

I believe “abinitioadinfinitum on April 24, 2007 at 1:09 AM” was trying to supply the readers with an extra-biblcal historical context for the call of Abram, not God’s purpose of the call, as supplied in Genesis 12:1-8. I don’t think the intention is “adding to scripture”. Maybe the use of the word “because” was the problem.

Bryan, you should check out this article by Christopher Hitchens on some encounters our founding fathers had with radical islam. Our country has been dealing with creeps like ElBayly, and fighting radical Islamists since it’s founding. Divine Providence, indeed.

Remember, the First Barbary War was started when Jefferson refused to pay the annual ransom duty so that the muslim city-states in North Africa would leave American merchant ships alone. The Barbary pirates kidnapped American citizens and held them for ransom. Jefferson had a backbone and told them to get lost – sending five Constitution class capital ships full of Marines to make his point.

However, after the US won the war, the US State Department paid the ransom off anyway.

1) It’s not OK to publicly threaten someone with death unless you’re Muslim and they are not.

2) It’s not OK to discriminate against women, force them to wear shapeless bags on those few occasions that you allow them out of the house, kill them (even you own sister if you want!) if you catch them as much as talking to a male not approved of by the family, stone them to death if they have had an affair, put them in jail for the crime of being raped, not allowed to drive a car, hold an un-approved job, etc., unless you and/or they are Muslim.

3) Freedom of speech is a god-given right, unless you are talking to, about, with, in the company of a Muslim, or in any other way that might contact any Muslim ever from now until the end of time.

4) Its a crime to have sex with under-age girls, unless your a Muslim and then you can marry her at the age of 7 and have sex with her at the age of 9…….whether she wants to get married/have sex or not.

5) What you and whoever you partner do in private is your own business, except if you are Muslim, in which case you may be beaten, stoned to death, buried alive, hung or simply shot for what the “Church” calls “un-Islamic acts”.

6) The right to protect yourself is a right that has existed always in all living creatures from the moment God created them, unless your being attacked by a Muslim, in which case you have the right to stand there and take it, even if that means you and your family die, or for that matter if your entire nation is destroyed.

7) It’s the world’s responsibility to save uncounted people in uncounted places in Africa from genocide (sorry, I’m not allowed to say who is doing the killing, see the rule above) unless your a Muslim. In which case it doesn’t matter how many people die, after all, they weren’t/aren’t Muslims. The only exception here is if it is Muslims getting killed, in which case the entire nation where it occurred must be “cleared” of all non Muslims, then all nations that had even the most tenuous connection to the perpetrators must be “converted” for inciting it (after all, it’s always the fault of the non-Muslim). PS rumors count here as fact.

I’ve already gone on too long, but you get the point. What I would like to see is someone on the far left explain how all the above and volumes more squares with their liberal view of the world. “Not better or worse, just different” is crap. The first barrier is to get the left-winger to get past that one, to be able to say “living in our society is better than living in one ruled by a pre-medieval, genocidal (even against themselves), discriminating, misogynistic theocracy ruled by tribal warlord and governed by the rule of the sword (gun, bomb, chlorine gas, radioactive agents, RPGs, or whatever else that can be gotten in hand) as directed by religious leader who are impervious to irony, immune to logic, and completely dismissive about the value of human life.

Typically, for purposes of using a taped conversation in court, the taped person has to know in advance, and agree to have the conversation taped. There are instances where a judge can allow a taped conversation to be admissable evidence if the other doesn’t know they are being taped, but those cases are the exception, and are judged on a case-by-case situation. Recorded phone conversations are becoming more common, but people don’t understand individual state laws regarding this. They really should understand how their state treats these conversations. It’s also interesting that if you’re talking to someone from a business and inform them you are recording the conversation, they can deny you service and refuse to speak to you.

I know here in Ohio and I think most states, as long as one person (the caller counts) knows the convo is being taped, then it’s legal. The one person thing is so that someone can’t tap another’s phone, but perfectly ok to tap your own.

Islamic doctrine is incompatable with Western values. Isalmic doctrine directs Muslims to conquer or kill the infidel and is not tolerant of others who do not beleive as they do.

When will the electorate and leaders of the United States recognize Islam and the Muslim for what they are?
