I grew up in Park Forest and University Park but last lived in Steger.
Steger used to be kind of ‘redneck”-for a while you could find ‘Stars and Bars’ hanging from peoples houses.
A nice community where all were welcome.
When we move it had just gotten a Mexican market(illegals abound) and the biggest apt complex turned ‘section 8′ becuase of the influx of refugees from the projects.

why is it that showbiz stars and comedians always feel the need to espouse their political philosophies? I thought that Foxworthy was immune to it but apparently not.

The self-congratulatory culture of Country sometimes grates on me, and Forworthy brought it to that edge, IMO. I like both rock and country. One of my favorite fusions is Dolly's cover of "Stairway to Heaven". (Plays on Real ... sorry.)
