Like the man said, if you want to change the world you’ve got to get ‘em emotional.

Don’t scoff. It works.

Oh, oh … do I get to be the first to say it?

Fake … but accurate?

Professor Blather on April 20, 2007 at 4:17 PM

You do, Prof. It’s more like fake and inaccurate, though.

steveegg on April 20, 2007 at 4:19 PM

Ugh… Journalistic integrity. And the world will never know (unless they read HotAir)

RightWinged on April 20, 2007 at 4:20 PM

Give ‘em break allah — they are just making sure we see things their way!

wytammic on April 20, 2007 at 4:21 PM

Professor Blather on April 20, 2007 at 4:17 PM

Yeah, multiple versions, some with gloomier colors of the same photo…. proof that the smoke stacks were demolished last year, and a photo showing it wasn’t all smoggy around the site (at least on a particular day in 2005). Fake but INACCURATE.

RightWinged on April 20, 2007 at 4:21 PM

B-B-B-B-But…The Greater Good (TM) , Allah!

Can’t you see that the media is just telling a little white lie to make sure we limit our expectations from a truly fair and earth friendly economy? Is that really so wrong? Is it?

Bad Candy on April 20, 2007 at 4:32 PM

I want a poll question that asks how much more in taxes are you willing to pay to prevent global warming.

kmcguire on April 20, 2007 at 4:39 PM

The CBC is filled with vacuum-heads, all the reporting is so slanted, all the time.

I think they export US newspeople…they get trained in propaganda dissemination up there and then ply their dishonest trade down here.

They tried to shut Don Cherry up once, luckily he has testicles and stood up to those Stalinsts.

GOD not gore controls the weather!

abinitioadinfinitum on April 20, 2007 at 4:39 PM

Ah! The Sky is Falling!

And if you pay $19.99, Al Gore can show you how to stop it.

Operators are standing by.

Black Adam on April 20, 2007 at 4:41 PM

GOD not gore controls the weather!

In the eyes of liberals there is no difference.

EnochCain on April 20, 2007 at 4:41 PM

They’ll blame it on some contractor I’m sure.

Highrise on April 20, 2007 at 4:42 PM

Al Gore would be proud. Sounds to me like CBC’s got some ’splainin to do.

amerpundit on April 20, 2007 at 4:42 PM

Oprah is doing an energy conservation segment as we type…

unamused on April 20, 2007 at 4:42 PM

Highrise on April 20, 2007 at 4:42 PM

Oh, most definitely. It will be the photographers, or the editors, or someone else’s fault.

amerpundit on April 20, 2007 at 4:43 PM

These liars have no shame.

infidel4life on April 20, 2007 at 4:48 PM

Long live the blogs, else such lies would never be exposed and opposed. What journalists USED TO DO, they now fear citizens doing to them. Uncovering their lies and distortions to keep the truth visible.

kmcguire on April 20, 2007 at 4:39 PM

None, because MMGW is crap.

Oprah is doing an energy conservation segment as we type…

unamused on April 20, 2007 at 4:42 PM

Rightwinged is wondering why unamused is watching Oprah as we type…

RightWinged on April 20, 2007 at 4:52 PM

unamused would sooner eat his television that watch Oprah.
However, my wife watches her. I think she does it to push my buttons…

unamused on April 20, 2007 at 4:57 PM

Tightly coupled but loosely cohesive.
Global Warming is an excuse to put your head in the sand and ignore the global hatred around us.
It’s a distraction, it’s an excuse to bring back communism.
Hillary wants those oil profits and it’s the first step towards nationalizing industry. Blogs are not enough, this needs to be on the boob tube. I hope Smerconish gets the MSNBC gig also.

If you can’t dazzle em with brilliance, baffle with bull$hit!

SilverStar830 on April 20, 2007 at 5:00 PM

argh… it dropped the “em”?

…baffle em with bull$hit!

:/

SilverStar830 on April 20, 2007 at 5:00 PM

According to the poll, seven in 10 Americans want more federal action on global warming, and about half of those surveyed think the government should do “much more” than it is doing now.

Two words……. “Brain Washed

PinkyBigglesworth on April 20, 2007 at 5:08 PM

You know, when I was a kid, the news was bad, and biased, and it took a lot of work to prove it.

I actually did a study for a journalism class that showed (on a small scale involving the local paper and TV news) that you were actually better-informed about what had actually happened in the last month if you avoided the paper and news shows.

Did I mention I was not popular in journalism class? The teacher loved it, though - he was an actual journalist of the sort we don’t see many these days.

The great news is, now we can ALL do that on the net.

Fight the MSM power! :)

Merovign on April 20, 2007 at 5:10 PM

Even if these photos were not retouched this scene could be reversed with anti pollution efforts. Have you ever seen pictures of Pittsburg PA during the height of steel production in the US ? Today Pittsburg is a beautiful city, just minus the smog>

sonnyspats1 on April 20, 2007 at 5:25 PM

Isn’t this the same smoke that was over “Burning Beirut” last Summer?

They’re just recycling.

For faux-offsets.

profitsbeard on April 20, 2007 at 5:58 PM

I just finished “State of Fear” after putting it off for a long time.

While the plots in the book were much more dramatic, the tactics and strategies used by the ‘global warming cabal’ that Crichton described are no different than they are by the real life Gorebots.

LegendHasIt on April 20, 2007 at 7:55 PM

Uh, that’s not even smoke. It’s steam with some color added. The original was taken in winter, with a fair bit of temperature difference between the effluent air and the atmosphere. Those same “steam stacks” in summer?: no steam. Add some brown, and you got yourself a nice ‘lil attack on capitalism…..
