No, really. Let’s do it.

A short recon of what’s out there that might draw your attention….

In light of the fact that this was on Al Aribiyah, the guy did a pretty good job of asserting the Israeli right to exist…there was not a lot of difference between his words and those of Ohlmert.

Also, he was very clear that he is not a separatist…he was defending the integrity of the Iraqi state, and obviously wants a federal solution.

I think the interviewer showed some biases, but in doing so asked some tough questions which were not, in the context, unfair. But he gave the man (what’s his name???) a chance to answer.

In all, I think the guy came across as a reasonable leader (remember…he is speaking to an Arab audience, not a Western one…these remarks aren’t tailored for us a la Arafat), organized in his thinking and gutsy.

Well worth listening to (i.e.reading).

If we leave Iraq before the Iraqis are able to defend themselves, the jihadis will be able to focus their energies on their main target: US!

Better to have Soldiers and Marines fight the bastards over there than to have Cops and Firemen fight the bastards HERE.

What’s interesting to me is how much tied to other world governments, especially the Kurd’s, the US is. It totally amazes me how much these people realize the consequences of their future if the democrats win in 08.

If I were a Kurd, I would be somewhat pessimistic. As an American, I fear for their safety and our future should the democrat’s win.

Though honestly, there probably aren’t a lot of people out there with computers as dysfunctional as mine, so maybe it wouldn’t make enough of a difference to be worth the effort. Either way.

I used to not be in the same boat….then I got a new PC at work. Due to my boss not wanting to get Windows XP (yes, I said XP, not Vista) he special ordered the pc with Windows 2000 which isn’t compatible with the sound card (or that’s what I’m being told). It’s hard to press for a sound card when my only reason for needing one is “I like watching my HotAir videos!”. :)

So, if it’s possible to have a transcript, that would be awesome. If not, I suppose I can do my own homework and go find the transcripts myself.

You know, the Kurds would have empathy for Israelis. After all, Saddam and the Turks want to annihalate them, so they are in a rather unique position–birds of a feather and all.

Lord, please protect this brave man.

He breaks the bad news about 80% of the way through the clip — and is promptly informed by the interviewer that his radical position will draw “much criticism” in the Muslim world.

It’s almost as if the interviewer was trying to give him a chance to back out of that position.

Finally, a talking head who dares ask the tough questions!
