Moron who botched joke defends other moron who botched joke

He’s in no position to be haughty about humor in bad taste so I guess he’s obliged. Plus, the guy did vote for him, no matter what the media would have you believe.

Exit question: Is Imus’s comeback the only one Waffles has in mind here?

Like rats leaving a sinking ship, they climb over their wives and children to save their own butts.

Of course Kerry’s conservative sympathy will liberate his 08 running chances. Or vote for me, I’m a liberal conservative joker.

Kini on April 17, 2007 at 9:48 PM

Does this mean we can give Kerry long suspension or a strong suspension as well?

Wishful thinking on my part I expect.

F15Mech on April 17, 2007 at 9:51 PM

It because Howie Carr and Rush called him out. Where was “Live Shot” when Imus needed him – when it counted?

TheBigOldDog on April 17, 2007 at 9:52 PM

Imus was so last week.

It’s over, Johnny.

JammieWearingFool on April 17, 2007 at 9:57 PM

Oh what I wouldn’t give for a “Halp Me Jon Cary” photoshop with the heads of Imus and his broadcast crew in it.

Allah?

Jack M. on April 17, 2007 at 10:10 PM

Kerry will withdraw his defense of Imus in 5, 4, 3 ….

fogw on April 17, 2007 at 10:25 PM

Part of the reason Imus was fired is because he would not be able to come back do the type of show that Kerry would appear on. No one would have listened.

The guests were mostly left-wing weenies and ground the show to a halt.

Chuck and Bernie were gut conservatives and made the show worth listening to

Valiant on April 17, 2007 at 10:27 PM

I think Lurch is still smarting over the fact he couldn’t get away with his own botched joke. Defending Imus somehow absolves his own stupidity.

thedecider on April 17, 2007 at 10:32 PM

Of course, he was probably against Imus’ joke before he was for it.

thedecider on April 17, 2007 at 10:33 PM

I recall Imus blabbering ahead of the 2004 election that he had voted for Mr. Bush in 2000, then fully intended to vote for Mr. Kerry in 2004. He might be a registered independent who votes for whomever he likes at the time. Media Matters hate him because he doesn’t like Mrs. Clinton and makes negative comments about her.

I don’t care for Imus and haven’t watched him since the election of 2004, or shortly after, and then only occasionally. However, I don’t believe he should have been fired – it is a dire warning for what’s yet to come in the restriction of speech. Better to disagree with what’s said than to not be able to say things freely, even if stupid at times. It’s simply too easy to lead to darkness.

He’s in no position to be haughty about

Mh – Mr. Haughty Waffles can’t help himself. He is simply haughty. Because he steps into it and wants to be forgiven or interpreted with nuance, he defends the same.

On this one, though, he is right – just the wrong messenger.

Entelechy on April 17, 2007 at 10:33 PM

The idea here is that everybody else is for getting rid of Imus. Kerry figures that being the lone voice on this one couldn’t hurt his chances (you can’t really be below 0% in an election) and maybe it will earn him some points somehow.

Either way, I hope he wins the nomination.

Go Fred!

greenpiece on April 17, 2007 at 10:40 PM

Imus can learn a thing or two from Kerry. He should have attacked Bush and Rove for making up the controversy, insisting that he was talking about Bush when he said nappy headed hos, not the Rutgers ladies. Then he could attack anyone who doesn’t buy the excuse for being too dumb to understand what he meant. The media would have bought it.

I’m still waiting for a piece on Fred! you guys. Please, we need some relief.

No worry – he’ll have been informed by tomorrow what he should have said, and then he’ll say it correctly. Apparently John’s name isn’t even on the CC list for the talking points anymore. Sic transit flipflopia.

With the killings at VaTech on my mind, I thought it would be the right time to remind Mr. Kerry of the people he would put in harms way just to make a politcal point……. {and looking at them, Mr. Kerry offends me more and more…}, Michelle, Ian, Brian, Allah…. only my opinion, but this should have been done long ago. To the troops, their families, and our country……….

…….. some of the photos might be duplicated, but what the hey, they only died for our freedom.

For “Sam“…

If you have time to watch “American Idol”, these are worth watching….. “Faces of the Fallen“, “A Marine’s Soldier Story“, “lost” {small warning language}, “In Appreciation“, “If I Die Tomorrow“, “Angel by Myside” ,”Arms of the Angel Fallen Tribute“, “Tribute Song“, “American Heros“,

…. if lasted this long, and the tears haven’t started, warning, get the tissues, “Soldier, an American Hero Tribute…”, “Tribute to an American Soldier“, “Tribute to our American Heros“, familiar song, but different pictures you need to see “American Tribute” , same song, more American heros, “American Soldier Tribute“, More of the same, More “Americans, God Bless Them…”,

Mr. Kerry, here is to you……..

“What started it all……”

Imus was so last week.

Huh? He was so what?

Get the picture of the “old” democratic party leader; standing in the Capital Building hallway by himself and gazing at the “new” democratic party leaders. That was my favorite picture of all time.

MORON? Nice way to talk about a decorated Vietnam Vet and US Senator and US presidential candidate. Oh know he was against the Vietnam war. Well any body that has read history book? He may be a big bag of wind, but I think he has a few more brain cells to rub together than you know who. I don’t like Kerry or did I vote for him, but gosh darn……

Talk about ad hominem, useless, bs, ignorant hate speech. Than you call out liberals that do the same? That is why the GOP is such an unattractive party, the “base” is full of haters. No ideas, just hate. If you want to know what the true GOP is about look at 2000-2206 when they had absolute control both in numbers and due to 9/11. They squandered it with incompetence, corruption, laziness, big government, deficit spending and lies (yes lies admit it).

And your biggest problem is Kerry?

The main goal of the RNC/GOP is distroy and spew demagoguery and personal attacks. It may be FUN, but you are the people who HURT AMERICA and help the terrorist. You make the terrorist happy when you divide the house, because they know it will not stand, so did our founding fathers.

The idea that tht GOP or conservatives have a monopoly on all the good ideas and some how are holier than thou makes me sick to my stomach. The arrogance and hubris of the Neo-Con movement is what has got us in the mess we are in, YET you still blindly support your “leader?”, dare not to step out of Lock-Step.

News Flash! Classical conservatism (which was basically good) is DEAD! If you keep going along with this PARTY BEFORE GOD AND COUNTRY and HATE liberals speech, you will distroy our nation. What is the point of calling Kerry a moron? Yea as I thought, you are retarded.

gmcjetpilot on April 18, 2007 at 3:03 PM

Nice way to talk about a decorated Vietnam Vet and US Senator and US presidential candidate.

He not only a moron, he is a coward. They should have decorated his ass with a yellow ribbon when he ran home from country and left his charge behind.

Wade on April 18, 2007 at 4:07 PM

gmcjetpilot,

but I think he has a few more brain cells to rub together than you know who

You have your facts wrong gmcjetpilot - they’re both not very intellectual, contrary to your and the haughty one’s assumptions.

If you want to know what the true GOP is about look at 2000-2206 when they had absolute control both in numbers and due to 9/11.

Talk about who’s ignorant. Wish you’d be right, though.

Classical conservatism liberalism (which was basically good) is DEAD!

Fixed it for ya – as it applies to both parties.

Calling a host “retarded” is not nice, and definitely not refined, or tactful.

Also, and most disturbing to a pilot, if you still fly, I’d be scared of you.
