Argh … what did you guys do to your font colors and styles? Many of your links are showing up as white on a white background, and in a different style than before. Please go back to the old way, it was much better.

I believe that any society will lean towards democracy if given the chance. It’s good to finally hear this point of view from someone else.
It is important for our President and his staff to make it clear to all people that The United States can no more give a country democracy than we could give them everlasting life. We can set the stage, remove barriers, but that society must stand up and decide they want a democracy.
I believe that setting the stage and removing barriers is what President Bush is talking about when he says “it’s hard work”. His conviction and resolution may be so strong that he doesn’t see a need to explain beyond “I know it’s tough”. I wish he would do a better job of explaining it to us, but I admire how steadfast and consistent he is anyway.

Thanks for your work Mr. Stakelbeck. I am just amazed nobody has commented on such an eye opening interview as this one. I guess they are all to busy with Anna Nicole Smith, Duke non-rape case and Imus, to worry about the future of FREEDOM of the world as we know it.
.
Well maybe everyone will just sit back and wait until Islam rules the world and attacks Israel, and let GOD protect Her as He said He will in Ezekiel 38.
.
God help us all.

One more time everybody: Repeat after me: “Calipahte” c-a-l-i-p-h-a-t-e. The jihadists absolutely positively have to have a large section of the world hermetically sealed from our cultural influences. If they do not have such a privileged sanctuary, their coercive proselyting elsewehre will go for naught. And with Uncle Sam camped along the Tigris and Euphrates, a calipahte is impossible.
Need I say more?

Now as to the “oil problem”. There is no such problem. There is a lack of gonads and common sense problem. The mideast has nothing truly resembling a monopoly on oil. What the mideast does have is a lot of easy-to-get-to-and-therefore-comparatively-cheap oil. But wherever you can find source rock (porous and permeable stone)a history of microrganisms and other organic material, and cap rock (non-porous, non-permeable stone) to hold everything in place, you are sure to have certain quantities of petroleum. Go deep and you are likely to find natural gas, petroleum under excessive pressure that converted it to methane. Go shallow and you can find huge quantities of the solid mistakenly labeled “shale oil” a substance that can be converted to crude oil albeit at a price.
What cannot be done is to sit back and let exploratory drillers shoulder the financial burden by themselves. Instead, issue revenue bonds and pay them to drill on every square inch of land both on shore and offshore. You are acturarily certain to find enough oil and other exploitable minerals to make those bonds a profitable investment.
Oh, and one other thing. When an oil company pays a royalty to an American citizen, the payment is a business expense. But when the payment goes to a foreign government, it is a tax credit. Is anybody here interested in correcting this?

Some scary stuff. I feel this vent may have been bypassed by many because of the Va tech killings. It’s important … maybe we can keep it over a day?
