Video: “Lil’ 9/11″

From “The Human Giant,” which Wikipedia tells me debuted on MTV 10 days ago. When you’re fishing for buzz, there’s no better lure than 9/11 humor. It’s surefire.

I suppose I should be offended, but beyond a certain threshold of absurdity I just can’t care.

If stupity was a crime then the democrats wouldnt be able to hold office.

William Amos on April 15, 2007 at 2:32 PM

And yes I know how to spell “Stupidity” but my fingers are too fast and my brain too slow today.

William Amos on April 15, 2007 at 2:33 PM

The most offensive thing about that video was the utter lack of laughs.

MoxArgon on April 15, 2007 at 2:34 PM

Anyone offended by that needs therapy.

flipflop on April 15, 2007 at 2:39 PM

Does Rachel Marsden write for this show? If this is indeed from MTV, I’m not surprised… but it is pretty disgusting.

RightWinged on April 15, 2007 at 2:40 PM

It could almost pass for a parody on the indoctrination of children in the Arab world. All that’s missing is the hatred of Jews.

RedWinged Blackbird on April 15, 2007 at 2:40 PM

RightWinged beat me… I was gonna ask if anyone is truly surprised that it was offensive AND unfunny, coming from MTV??

SHUT UP AND JUST PLAY VIDEOS, MTV…You’ve sucked for years.

tickleddragon on April 15, 2007 at 2:44 PM

I wasn’t offended, I was in awe of the utter stupidity. My IQ just went down a few points.

amerpundit on April 15, 2007 at 2:58 PM

I was in awe of the utter stupidity.

Agreed. MTV has gotten so bad that not only can’t they do music videos any more, they can’t even do funny.

flipflop on April 15, 2007 at 3:11 PM

I couldn’t even sit through it.

But I’ve discovered, thanks to Pravda (via Fark), that Imus was canned because he was going to reveal secrets about 9/11. Here’s the best line, with its confluence of 9/11, Imus, and Rosie:

“But, to the US War Leaders, Don Imus represented the most serious threat, to date, of the growing assault against them by America’s media personalities threatening to expose the truths behind the events of September 11, 2001 and the Iraq/Afghanistan Wars; and to such an extent that another American media personality, Rosie O’Donnell, has expressed concern that US Military Leaders could actually imprison Mr. Imus.”

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on April 15, 2007 at 3:19 PM

Who knew that BDS was a real affliction! Child abuse…

Zorro on April 15, 2007 at 3:24 PM

Attila, was that from Pravda or The Onion? I know the link lead to what looked like the English version of Pravda but…

Zorro on April 15, 2007 at 3:27 PM

and this relates to…????

sonnyspats1 on April 15, 2007 at 3:38 PM

Child abuse.

Connie on April 15, 2007 at 3:39 PM

Uhhh… yeah.

Dash on April 15, 2007 at 3:40 PM

Really Stupid

Libs are feeling pretty confortable. All the giggles
an attack on this country can buy. It’s going to take
a few more 9/11’s to wake them up if it’s at all possible.

Texyank on April 15, 2007 at 3:49 PM

Few things more entertaining than someone who doesn’t do English very well trying to. Always gives me a chuckle.

Bob's Kid on April 15, 2007 at 3:49 PM

Little S%!t.

Lol, I suppose Al Shaprton and Jesse Jackson are Bush’s henchmen?

RightWinged on April 15, 2007 at 3:49 PM

Oh, that was in response to Attila’s Pravda quote.

Bob's Kid on April 15, 2007 at 3:49 PM

Yes. 9/11 is definitely something I want to see satirized.

Idiots.

dalewalt on April 15, 2007 at 4:05 PM

So saying “fuc?” in front of a child is funny?

PinkyBigglesworth on April 15, 2007 at 4:17 PM

I remember when MTV2 came out and they played a lot of music but the last time I saw it they were just putting more of their crap shows on it.

EnochCain on April 15, 2007 at 4:23 PM

Okay, I thought the trailer part at the end was kinda funny. I’m just happy they didn’t try satirizing the buildings blowing up.

frankj on April 15, 2007 at 5:10 PM

And the “based on a true story” punchline was clever.

frankj on April 15, 2007 at 5:11 PM

They think nearly 3,000 people pretend died that day?

naliaka on April 15, 2007 at 5:25 PM

MTV was the impetus for pulling the cable plug in our house. No a la carte packages are offered so anyone who wants cable or SAT TV, ALWAYS gets stuck with MTV and its slimey cousins as part of the basic package. The good channels are always extra cash in the enhanced packages. It’s such a racket - you pay for a pile of shows you don’t want, which get a cut of the proceeds, even though you never watch them, then you must pay to block the shows you find are vile for your kids.

naliaka on April 15, 2007 at 5:31 PM

I’m outraged! (TM)

/not really outraged

Bad Candy on April 15, 2007 at 6:59 PM

William Amos:

Stupity: Because “Stupid” is just too good for some people.

:)

Merovign on April 15, 2007 at 7:08 PM

Um, was that supposed to be funny, informative, thought provoking, offensive, or cute?

It wasn’t any of those, I’m just wondering what it was supposed to be.

Unless the goal was to have me sit here and presume the writers who thought this up were miserable failures at conveying any thought, they missed the target.

If that was the goal, it’s certainly an ironic goal.

gekkobear on April 15, 2007 at 11:18 PM

Mtv was also the first cable station to air commercials on a regular basis just like over the air networks. There were very few complaints about it from the people who watch Mtv, so other cable stations decided they could get away with it too.
So the next time you’re watching cable or satellite and wonder why you’re paying to watch commercials, you can thank Mtv.

forged rite on April 16, 2007 at 1:17 AM

You never actually see them and the kid in the same shot when they curse. It’s all editing. The thing about all the ice cream in the world being stolen was kinda funny, and I want to see more of Bush and Bin Laden fighting in a cave.
