Uh, we wouldn’t call it a “dump,” which suggests disrespect, and they were almost certainly used, not unused. We would call it a genizah, which is “is a depository for sacred Hebrew books that are no longer usable. Since they cannot be thrown out because they contain God’s name, these documents, often called shemot or ‘names,’ are put in a genizah. How thoughtful (stated drolly). However, Bryan’s point was well-made. Olby counts on that segment to be a highlight in his show. Without the context of his (apparent) numerous interviews, how does the average viewer know he’s just kidding? One more thing, you are noted in this very blog for not allowing people to simply have an “opinion” without irrefutable facts to back it up. And the grounds he has to criticize what people say comes with the fact that he has an opinion and has the right to speak it.

No one’s arguing about his right to say anything. Liberals always use that as their first defense–it’s irrelevant to my question. It’s his credibility that ought to be questioned. Who is he to say anything about anyone, after the way he treats everyone he dislikes? He traffics in hate and smears. He’s a bottom feeder (ratings and otherwise). He makes Imus look civil.

Then why call someone that, night after night, and make it a routine part of your awful, bottom-feeding show? And on what grounds can Olbermann now criticize anything anyone else says about anyone else?

Olbermann has said time after time in interviews that the Worst Person in the World title was started to be a funny bit on the show that he turned into a daily thing (I think he even said that it isn’t supposed to be taken literally, obviously).

And the grounds he has to criticize what people say comes with the fact that he has an opinion and has the right to speak it. Same grounds as I have, same grounds as you have.

What else did I miss? Mary Katharine Ham asking the Secretary of Education about Battlestar Galactica.

I completely missed her post on that. Just read it. I have to tell you, MKH is one of my favorite reads. I love her out-of-the-box thinking. Imagine asking the real Secretary of Ed to put herself into a fictional situation like that. Really clever.

Oh, thank heaven! The final word has arrived.

If you take it literally, Worst Person in the World is worse than bin Laden, worse than Mugabe, worse than Mahmoud the Pirate, worse than Kim Jong-Il.

Except it isn’t meant to be taken literally.

I think she’s great at it and I want to see more. She brought a polished elegance to the Factor I hadn’t seen from other guest hosts before.

Tell her she did a real outstanding job on O’R Factor. (she may be tired of hearing this) Also, if anchoring Fox News jobs are in her future (why can’t we HA readers shake this?) please pursue the “Specials” department so this blog can stay strong. Ian’s old blog was got me through Iraq, and the entire HA team keeps this Sergeant motivated.
