in reality the Gov was probably going around 90 (at least according to unofficial witnesses prior to the accident). The Parkway is a race track when there aren’t a lot of cars on it.

Heard on the radio that he will likely get a ticket, though they normally don’t ticket people who have been injured in accidents (gilding the lily….). Sort of an object lesson I guess.

Seriously though, many, if not most, MVA fatalities are the result of being thrown from the vehicle. While I’d have to leave the dynamics of the accident and mechanism of injury to the experts, I can tell you that some accident scenes are downright confounding. I was on the scene of a one-car accident in which a pickup truck slammed into a utility pole. The driver was thrown through the windshield and his daughter went through the passenger side window. As we were packaging them for transport, a neighbor came running down the road with a small child in her arms whom she had found her on her front lawn about 40-50 yards back from the scene. Police found a few hairs on the sliding rear window of the pickup and figured that was where she was thrown from. Good news: all three survived without major sequelae. Good advice: buckle up!

Ya know, this idiot probably could have walked away from the accident with a few scratches had he used his seat belt. I haven’t heard of anyone else in the vehicle getting injured – maybe they took the sensible precaution of buckling up. My bet is, they were hauling @ss at 80-90 MPH when the SUV lost control (SUV driver, sorry Rush fans).

It is ironic that a member of the party who wants to legislate the mandatory use of seat belts in every state, gets tossed around like a rag doll and breaks half the bones in his body because he didn’t buckle up – and broke the law in his home state of NJ.

Stay tuned for the issuance of tickets for speeding and riding without a seatbelt. He’s what? The Governor of the state?

I disagree with Corzine’s politics. I didn’t vote for him. I think it surely wasn’t his brightest act not to be wearing a seatbelt. Having said those things, I’ve met him several times, performed for him several times as a musician, etc., and I can say with authority that he is a decent, well-intentioned man. I wish him only the speediest of recoveries.

Karl Rove stands at some sophisticated machine on a wall twirling buttons and dials.

Two buxom cocktail waitressess serve all drinks.

Limbaugh: George we really got to do something about this Imus character.

George: Absent-mindedly says uh huh

Karl: On it Mr. President. Karl turns some dials and all of a sudden on the screen Imus’s TV show appears. Imus’s voice can be heard talking about the Rutgers women basketball players. Karl whispers into a microphone and all of a sudden everyone hears Imus say “nappy headed hos”

Imus: Thinking to himself “I meant to say Catholic Schoolgirls … yet nappy headed hos came out … how did that happen.”

Sharpton and Jackson are cracking up laughing.

Karl does his signature rap impression.

Sharpton and Jackson are now laughing themselves to the floor.

Everyone chuckles.

George: still coloring, says uh huh

Karl nods to Sharpton and Jackson.

Jackson: well take it from here Karl.

Hannity: slaps the black cocktail waitress with a sound smack on the fanny and then pulls her onto his lap. He tells her “how would you like to be my nappy headed ho?”

Waitress: Looking slightly uncomfortable, smiles sheepishly.

Sharpton: Hannity, that sista ain’t gonna have nothing to do with you, you drunk Irish cracker.

Hannity looks like he is about to respond but falls face first into his potato soup.

Limbaugh still drawing on his cigar looks over at Hannity and shakes his head.

Door opens suddenly and Rosie ODonnell is standing there and says Mr President its time for your 3 oclock appointment with Hillary about the transfer of power to her in 08. At 4 oclock you have an appointment with your brother Jeb about him taking the presidency in 2016.

George still coloring simply says “uh huh”
