The different groups of voters in the democratic party break down into something like this:
1. The welfare recipients group- they support the candidate most likely to expand the biggest number of government programs.
2. The race bating group - They are all guilty upper class who are closet racists themselves, they will support a candidate that will provide the most oprogressive reforms for minorities, like slave reparations.
3. Illegal aliens – We know who they are, legally they arent supposed to vote, but they all got registered, when the states gave them their driver’s licenses, so they will vote anyway, for the candidate that is most likely to give the a green card and the most social services.
4. The Pacifists – They will support the candidate most interested in calling all our troops world wide home, apologizing to those nations whose rogue governments we destoyed, and will support the superior authority of the United Nations.

If Fred! enters the race and gets the nomination, prepare for a whole election season of MSM coverage along the lines of: Fred is the candidate of the religious nut Southerners, i.e, the heir to Bush’s Christian right legacy.

And I suppose they’ll be right. I mean, isn’t the knock on Rudy that he’s not Christian-y enough with his abortion stance and his apparent lack of hatred towards gays? When anyone asks “Can Rudy win over the base?” they’re really asking “Will the churchy South vote for a dude who doesn’t mind abortions?” My guess is that the churchy South won’t vote for Rudy.

I think if Fred! or Mitt get the nomination, it just keeps the Republican party mired in the religious right when it should be embracing libertarianism.

But what the hell do I know?
