I only ask because its what THEY claim of themselves. Is it true? If a Muslim man actually sees a woman’s neck, he transforms into a rabid rapist? All of them?

They don’t believe they have to try. Under Islam, there is not really a parallel concept to our ideas of resisting sin and personal responsibility for your actions. The picture is that once the whole world is submitted, then all the temptations will be gone, and that will eradicate sin. They’re not actually expected to resist. It’s the community as a whole walking in submission that provides the way out of sin. Hence the zeal of the Taliban and others to enforce the edicts of Islam. Disappointment over any percieved shortcomings in their society can only be met by renewed attempts to follow the letter of Quranic law.

As has been noted, the fault in their minds really lies with the “tempter”, since they are helpless to resist. And women are one big walking temptation, hence the blanket thrown over them.

Allah’s “Quote of the day Must Read” might make them stick to the Status Quo.

From a Psychology point of view, eh hmmm…

The severe restrictions on women are a relatively new phenomenon resulting from the monarchy caving to the Wahhabists in the ’90s.

They started earlier than that. They were starting to loosen in the 70s, then the Shia had their “islamic revolution” in Iran in 1979. The Ayatollah Khomeini tried to speak for the Islamic world, and called out the Saudis for relaxing their restrictions. That was the end of that. Women were even allowed to go out by themselves at the time.

Be careful what you wish for. They’re in their Reformation now. Look at the world 30 years ago versus now. There’s more sharia now, more Islamism now, more radicals now. And it’s all based on a literal reading of the Koran that wasn’t as prevalent a few decades ago.

They’re unwilling even to try. Your question isn’t racist because Islam isn’t a race. It’s a religious cultural thing.

The Saudi’s can’t tolerate this kind of uppity attitude and she will end up tortured, dead and dumped somewhere unless somone intervenes. What an example and asset she could be for us in our war with fudamentalist Islam.

Obviously, the guy wearing the tablecloth he stole from an Italian restaurant on his head is going to have somebody else cut off that woman’s head. When it happens, the average Saudi IQ will probably drop 15 points.
