Um. Anyone here in the Midwest ever shop at Aldi? You can get a loaf of bread for 59 cents last I checked. I haven’t bought milk in a long time, but last I remember it was under 1.50.

Manhattan prices? Are you kidding me? Who’s out of touch here, Rudy or the reporter?

Those prices were dead-on for the Western New York area. I dunno where these reporters are getting their groceries, but they are paying WAY too much.

As long as he knows the price of a sixpack of beer (between 5 and 10 bucks, depending on the brand and store) I’m good. something EVERY man should know is the general cost of a sixpack of beer.

Besides, I can think of other much more important issues to diagree with Rudy on than the stinking price of Milk in Manhattan.

Maybe Rudy is just trying to appeal to people outside of New York, because my milk and bread aren’t too far from that. I pay maybe 2 bucks for milk and often get bread for a dollar.

I’m nearly horrified at the prices quoted for those two places.

I agree with some of the others – I do ALL the shopping, and I just realized I have no clue what I pay for milk or bread. I’m not sure I could guess to within a dollar on either.

Obviously I’m a filthy rich out of touch elitist. Nice to know.

The price of either bread or milk–as a fraction of his net work–is probably on the order of 1e-8. Spare me.

And, for what it’s worth, I probably would have guessed the same numbers–maybe as much as $2.50 on milk–and I do my own shopping.

I only buy milk if I’m baking.

Now I can tell you that a Gallon of Lemon Iced Tea is $1.25
A pack of 8 Hamburger Rolls is $1.50…

And Lets see, Pizza Buffets are usually $5.50 a person (Drink included) While Steak Buffets are $10.60 per person.

Why would a New Yorker know the price of anything in AL?
He may as well be in another country in terms of the cost of living, taxes, etc. There really is no comparison. I lived in AL for 24 years and worked in the NE for 2 years. Trust me.

Based on prices in Toronto, Rudy’s estimate of bread cost was right on. I don’t buy milk so I don’t know about that. I’m no Giuliani fan (I’d rather have Hillary win), but this is brain numbingly stupid. Who the hell cares about buying groceries, God invented women for a reason.

This is totally a guy thing–nothing to do with Rs v. Ds. My husband has absolutely no clue what anything costs, except maybe for cars. Actually, it’s even worse than that:

Couple of years ago a new SUPER supermarket opened in our area. He wanted to check it out, so I told him to pick up a loaf of bread while he was there. He came home without the bread and told me that they didn’t have any–none whatsoever. Said he walked around the whole place twice and they simply did not carry bread.

My thoughts exactly!

I went grocery shopping yesterday where I purchased both bread and milk and I’m not sure what it costs.

I do know that I looked at bread that ranged in price from $0.99/loaf to $4.99/loaf looking for a balance of lots of fiber and no corn syrup.

Why do they put CORN SYRUP in WHEAT BREAD?!?

As for milk….well…..I haven’t bought a gallon in years. But I have no idea what I paid for the half gallon yesterday.

My guess is that the human brain has a finite capacity for memory. I would not give a flying flip if the President didn’t waste space in his brain with the cost of groceries. As long as he remembers where that oil price control knob is, I’m happy.
