Hillary’s campaign exploits Imusgate; Update: Aussie comic confronts Hillary … with a cigar
posted at 1:30 pm on April 11, 2007 by Allahpundit
Via Ben Smith. How worried is the Glacier about losing the black vote to Obama? Very.

Update: Not related to the above but I didn’t want to start a new post about it. This comes from the Aussie comedy show, “The Chaser.” The Freepers are laughing about it but I think it’s totally classless and disgusting.

Reminds me of Cartman when he was an evangelist in “Probably” (which was part two of a two-parter).

So now these young female athletes are going to be used as tools in a political campaign. The questions are: Can they see through this? Can others in the African American community see through this? Have they given the Hillary campaign permission to do this?
I can only imagine if a Republican had done the same thing say…with the Duke Lacrosse team. What if a Republican openly supported and asked for support towrads them.

The first White Woman married to a black man who was president.
Labamigo on April 11, 2007 at 1:50 PM
wow, poor hillary.
tikvah on April 11, 2007 at 1:51 PM
i meant, the part where that aussie was confronting her, not with her sympathy card for the b-ballers. That was stupid.
tikvah on April 11, 2007 at 1:52 PM
Classless perhaps, but she’s made her bed…gotta lay in it.
Jim-Rose on April 11, 2007 at 1:55 PM
I liked the Aussie video.
bopbottle on April 11, 2007 at 1:56 PM
I suppose everyone noticed that in Hillary’s picture, the white members of the Rutger’s B-Ball Team are mysteriously missing? Coincidence?
Oxybeles on April 11, 2007 at 1:56 PM
She didn’t make that bed, Bill did.
Allahpundit on April 11, 2007 at 1:56 PM
I agree: tasteless. Both Hillary’s pandering and this Aussie video.
tommy1 on April 11, 2007 at 1:58 PM
So are we to understand that the white girls on Rutgers are just what? chopped liver? who is standing up for them against these terrible and harmful comments? I mean these girls might end up with PTSD over this traumatization..
Viper1 on April 11, 2007 at 2:00 PM
Tasteless.
TexasDan on April 11, 2007 at 2:02 PM
That straight-haired ho of political pandering….
tommy1 on April 11, 2007 at 2:03 PM
lmao
Viper1 on April 11, 2007 at 2:05 PM
I’m not outraged (about the cigar).
Valiant on April 11, 2007 at 2:08 PM
So she beat silken pony to the pander….
As for the non-black team members, wasn’t this picture taken at a presser when they were complaining about how offended they were?
Canadian Imperialist Running Dog on April 11, 2007 at 2:09 PM
Imus supports Hilly 100%.
Funny how it seems she is just turning her back on her constituents based on nothing but public opinion.
Where’s the tolerance?
Mazztek on April 11, 2007 at 2:11 PM
I would venture to guess that they have separate beds, and each one makes his/her own.
Rick on April 11, 2007 at 2:11 PM
And she stood by him and blamed us (i.e. the VRWC).
Jim-Rose on April 11, 2007 at 2:12 PM
Yeah, that was pretty bad, even as much as I dislike Hillary. Its not really fair given that it was Bill that did the philandering, not her, no matter how you feel about her handling of the entire Lewinsky affair.
Bad Candy on April 11, 2007 at 2:17 PM
Yeah, that Hillary/Cigar thing was pretty classless. It definitely made me cringe a little.
Zetterson on April 11, 2007 at 2:20 PM
Obama sure has been quiet about the Rutgers/Imus matter.
Rick on April 11, 2007 at 2:20 PM
To his credit. This whole thing has turned into a media-fueled pathetic forced outrage racial grievance contest. I’m Outraged! (TM)
Bad Candy on April 11, 2007 at 2:26 PM
Reportedly, from a relative who worked in the Secret Service during the Clinton administration, they do indeed sleep in separate beds. Given Bill’s behavior over the years, can you blame her?
tommy1 on April 11, 2007 at 2:28 PM
In theabstract, that prank is a funny idea, but in practice–no. As much as I disagree with Hillary’s politics, that was nasty. I generally don’t like ambushers anyway, and when it’s a sexually themed prank played on a female, it’s really kind of creepy.
It reminds me of the guy who ambushed Michelle at CPAC.
juliesa on April 11, 2007 at 2:36 PM
Hill may have beaten Silky to the pander, but I still expect him to be the first to raise Rutgers Dollars.

Thank you Ausie’s! Man I needed a laugh! You reap what you sow!
soulsirkus on April 11, 2007 at 2:45 PM
Apparently it’s not racist to portray that only the Black Women of Rutgers were offended by Imus’ comments.
Could’ve fooled me, the other Women on the team seemed just as angry yesterday.
Every other woman in America doesn’t vote, or notice?
Speakup on April 11, 2007 at 2:47 PM
Dude! That video is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen! Gotta love the cameo by Fox News’ Campaign Carl Cameron too!
RightWinged on April 11, 2007 at 2:51 PM
Call me crazy, but I’m fairly certain that the guy that asked “How did you get into the Oval Office” is Fox’s Carl Cameron.
The prank was funny right up until the point where he offers Hill the cigar. She handled it like a champ, though, and her campaign people did a good enough job of boxing him out after the fact.
Also, “root” is the Aussie equivalent of the f-bomb (in the sexual context), which is why he got that laugh when he said, “I’m rooting for you”. “Barrack” is the equivalent of “root” as we know it, i.e: “Allahpundit barracks for the Mets”.

I have to ask this: Is that Hillary ad for real? It looks like something someone would photoshop to embarass Hillary. Nobody could be that stupid, except if you send a message to someone with cancer and it ends up being a fund raising campaign.
Have the no shame?
right2bright on April 11, 2007 at 3:04 PM
I’m sorry, I have NO sympathy for her. I would have more respect for her if she would have divorced him and left him singing sopranno for the rest of his slimmy life. If she can’t be in control of her personal life, there’s no way she can run the country.
ChrisIansNana on April 11, 2007 at 3:05 PM
I don’t see any difference between what Nifong did and what Hillary is doing, and both for the same ends ….. getting elected.
When will black America wake up and see these Democrats as the bloodsuckers they are?
fogw on April 11, 2007 at 3:16 PM
Aussies, now that’s funny. And on point!
Kini on April 11, 2007 at 3:18 PM
It’s time to move on.
And yes, surely, Imus should be fired.
People make dumb mistakes. People say stupid things. Sometimes, they’re so serious, they should are career-ending.
Career-ending means, someone loses his job. It happens. It happens all the time. When you’re not a celebrity, when your ego isn’t so distended, you swallow the bitter pill and move on.
Imus can’t conceive that apology won’t diffuse the issue of his termination.
Anil Petra on April 11, 2007 at 4:00 PM
I love Aussie humor. Best part was all of the Progressives not knowing how to handle this guy.
Tie me Hilary down, sport.
Tasteless is pasting that Rutgers photo on your website. Geesh, I can’t stand Democrats. They have an ex-KKKer in the Senate and pretend to be supportive of Black Americans for the self interest of it all.
Liberal pig-pile on the Liberal I-Man.
Hening on April 11, 2007 at 4:34 PM
Hahaha! Take that Hillary!
Again those of you who have had your sensitivities ruffled have failed to see the irony in this.
Hillary wants to cherry-pick and align herself with only the successful parts of slick willies presidency. He is what he is, she has known it for years, and she has to take it all or none of it.
csdeven on April 11, 2007 at 6:00 PM
The cigar thing was over the top. I think that these are the same the guys that put Al Kaider and Terry Wrist on some Australian flights though. That was funny!
shooten on April 11, 2007 at 6:17 PM
Side effects to doing videos of the Clintons like that may include turning up dead in your hotel room, being found dead in a ditch, and involuntary suicide.

Oh come on. She stood by him through of all of that and lied and spun her a** off. She let him treat the oval office like his personal brothel. I’m not going to sit here and feel sorry for a woman who stood by and lied for such a cheerful unrepentant swine as her husband. That, and she has never faced any hostile, or even difficult questioning on anything during her time in the Senate. The media caters to her and shields her. I enjoyed watching someone slip through and confront her with some of the ‘inconvenient truths’ of her husband’s legacy. They didn’t call her names; they didn’t make fun her looks. They just reminded her what she enabled for 8 years. Ok, it was a bit on the bawdy side, but nothing worse than the Starr report.
I was surprised at how funny these guys were. I’m so used to political humor here in the states being along the lines of ‘Bush is stupid. Bush is a nazi. 9/11 was an inside job.’ and the sub-moronic audience dutifully guffaws and claps. These guys were pretty clever.
austinnelly on April 11, 2007 at 9:13 PM
That was low-rent all the way. Zero class; what a shame.
Zorro on April 11, 2007 at 10:07 PM
Yup, that was from ‘The Chaser’s War on Everything’ from just last night. They do that all the time, but even that suprised me a little. I’m just amazed noone in the States has decked the guy yet

The Clintons have ALWAYS hated Imus, especially since the White House Coreespondents dinner that Imus hosted. You should be able to google and find the text of his speech. Jokes about Clinton getting laid in the back of a pickup.
