Video: “Postal”

From Hollywood’s worst director comes yet another adaptation of a video game, the fourth of his career. The game itself appears to be an extreme rampage-y FPS in the mold of “Grand Theft Auto,” which, judging by the not-safe-for-work trailer, Boll has taken as a license to make his film as shocking as possible. I suppose he figures if he can’t please his critics, he’ll assault them. (Literally.)
Which brings us to this. The Bollbashers site got hold of it somehow; perhaps Uwe himself leaked it. More disturbing even than the fact that he’s playing it for laughs is how spectacularly realistic it is. This guy is a D-list hack and the production quality in the trailer betrays that — but not here. Most of you will know this view from photos and some of us will know it from having been to the top of the Trade Center, but it’s letter perfect. Someone spent a lot of time making the shot look as realistic as possible. The better to enhance “the joke,” I guess.
Compulsively watchable, though, as there’s no one among us who hasn’t wondered what it must have been like. Click the image to watch.

As a video game fanatic, this man has single handedly tried to take down the Video Game into movie industry, and it hurts my heart…the crap this guy considers art is disgusting. Check out IMDB…see how well this guy is received in general.

Disgusting. Absolutely reprehensible.
DakRoland on April 9, 2007 at 4:15 PM
There are some sick f’in people in this world.
infidel4life on April 9, 2007 at 4:20 PM
Oh AllahP, a whip-it reference and Uwe Boll bashing in the same day. Love ya man.
It is hilarious because if this is left in the final cut, Boll will be completely ostracized as opposed to bordering on complete irrelevance. Sadly, he’s just looking to increase his notoriety. What an ass.
SouthernDem on April 9, 2007 at 4:22 PM
Thats disgusting.
Viper1 on April 9, 2007 at 4:22 PM
I’ll tell you what, its an F’in shame these people have no morals. Do you think any of the families of the 3,000+ victims of 9/11 plus the additional thousands who have died in the wars following 9/11 will care to see any of this f’in film?
Vincenzo on April 9, 2007 at 4:34 PM
Not laughing.
John on April 9, 2007 at 5:13 PM
Realistic as possible?
But there weren’t human window washers for the WTC towers…it was done by machine.
JetBoy on April 9, 2007 at 5:22 PM
sigh I swear there is some people in this world that need a good asskicking.
djohn669 on April 9, 2007 at 5:23 PM
How about some more great comedy? Pearl Harbor is a real knee slapper. What about Bo-pahl?
Darfur… The Musical.

I’m not surprised. Uwe Boll suckered a bunch of his most vocal critics into a boxing match claiming it was a PR stunt, and then he beat the crap out of them and quit when the real boxer showed up.
I think it’s time for another match Dr. Boll……

You know, I’ve been working on a treatment for “The Killing Fields On Broadway” for a few years now. Pol Pot is to be played by Rosie O’Donnell. It’s gonna be bigger than Seussical!
Vincenzo on April 9, 2007 at 5:53 PM
As someone who watched them fall from the corner of my block, I cannot bring myself to watch this or any other footage of their collapse.
What is almost just as bad, is the fact that a select few elitist jammed the Freedom Tower down the throats of the American people.
Rebuild the Twin Towers! Anything less is a victory for terrorists everywhere.
kcluva on April 9, 2007 at 5:59 PM
I know what you mean.
I watched from my dorm 4 blocks away at 200 Water St.
I have no problem at all not clicking on the video. If this jerk wants notoriety, he’ll get it without my help.

Now I tend to be one for dark humor and I’ve laughed at things that no one else has, but this, even when detatching myself from it, I . . just . . dont . . get.

Wow…I haven’t heard of “POSTAL” since the game first came out way back when! I’m not sure how the 9/11 reference plays into anything coming close to the game tho.
As for the “humor”. I’m with Mir Cat. I have a very sick and twisted sense of humor. I watch the Rob Zombie movies and think they are comedies. I didn’t find this funny…curious maybe…but not funny.
Pilgrim on April 9, 2007 at 8:30 PM
If this is really an attempt at humor, it’s in extremely bad taste. Some people have no shame.
thedecider on April 9, 2007 at 8:33 PM
A few Mohamad cartoons and war is declared.
Yet ! A movie or trailer such as this is to be viewed as
humorous. This is one great Big WTF . . . Over
Texyank on April 9, 2007 at 9:46 PM
I say someone should produce a movie of Mohammed going to his “heaven” and being greeted by 72 Rosies.
I like the others here find this not amusing. At. All. What’s next for this douchebag? A broadway musical about the killing fields of Cambodia, or even worse, a Broadway show about the ovens at Auschwitz?
Words escape me as to the lunacy of this garbage.
MsUnderestimated on April 9, 2007 at 10:36 PM
You know………….. there are some Amercians who’s last image could have been that terrifying.
They will never get a chance to hear thier children laugh again, or see them grow up. They will never feel the warm embrace of loved ones, have children, or better the world with their own unique poetry.
All of the families before them, all of the sacrifice and love, nuturing and education, passed on from one generation to the next, were wiped out in an act of Terror.
Yeah, Democrats, go ahead and defund the war, and in the face of Victory, bring our troops home in disgrace. Then let’s get ready for some more humor, right Mr. Boll?
Hey, Mr. Boll, why don’t you bring your sense of humor to the troops in Iraq as part of the USO show?
PinkyBigglesworth on April 9, 2007 at 11:08 PM
When’s the Liver Cancer videogame coming out?
Tantor on April 9, 2007 at 11:26 PM
That is hilarious
I mean, come on, Uwe Boll is still getting work?
And that they’re making a movie out of POSTAL?!
That game is nearly 10 years old! (hence the name of the game might make a little more sense)
Nevertheless, hat-tip to AP as it’s nice to see someone else out there thinks he’s ‘the worst director in the world’
Reaps on April 10, 2007 at 1:07 AM
Yeah, to all the kids who just celebrated Easter without their Mom or Dad who were killed on 9/11, and will never laugh with all the other kids in the same way as before, that would be hilarious.
Good one Reaps………. sleep well!
PinkyBigglesworth on April 10, 2007 at 1:55 AM
Good one Pinky, try reading my post again! *thumbs up*
Mind-numbing, I swear..
Reaps on April 10, 2007 at 5:04 AM
Apparently, we disagree on what is “hilarious” and what is not……….
PinkyBigglesworth on April 10, 2007 at 12:16 PM
I just want to say that comparing Grand Theft Auto to Postal is an insult. Whatever you may think of the content, GTA has a coherent, if not entirely believable, plot and great freeform gameplay. Postal, from what I’ve seen, is just a glorification of all the things that people are supposed to be better than. The similarities are skin deep, the differences go quite a bit deeper.
Wolfman on April 10, 2007 at 4:36 PM
I will not watch that. The screen shot is bad enough.
gary on April 10, 2007 at 6:15 PM
So when you read someone’s post, you read… the first line. Brilliant.
You realise you’re the reason why THHNH thought they had to spell out all their jokes to the audience, right? In that case..:
It is hilarious:
A) That Uwe Boll is still getting work;
B) That they’re making a video game out of Postal, which in itself implies;
C) They think that it’s going to make money
Perhaps with your amazing ability to re-interpret my post to get offended by it, I’ll apply your reading comprehension skills to your own post and decide to be puzzled as to how someone can talk about ‘kids missing out on easter with their father’ because of Uwe Boll.
Yeah, that’ll do it.
And now this post is going to slide off the front page and into the archives anyway..
