How does she negotiate the latter to facilitate the former? Simple: she takes Lantos with her. As a victim he’s beyond criticism, and thus so is she by association. That, of course, makes it a game of moral-authority poker where, in order to challenge her, we have to bet some “chips” of our own. So, fine — I’ll see her Tom Lantos and raise her Elie Wiesel. It’s disgusting, but it’s a game they love to play, including/especially with Iraq per Moron Dowd and her beatification of nascent Truther and shameless Chavez-hugger Cindy Sheehan. [...]

Sure, it may sound like no big deal, an ultra-picky thing.

However…

This is no different than me running a home business on my government-furnished computer…it simply isn’t allowed. In a very close parallel to what would happen to me if I pulled a Sandy Berger with classified information, I would lose my job if I did the same thing The Obamessiah did.

…or the same thing that Webb did.

…or the same thing that Pelosi did.

…or…well, you get the idea.

This principle derives in large part from 31 U.S.C. § 1301(a), providing that official funds are to be used only for the purposes for which appropriated, as well as from statutory authorizations for allowances. 418 It is thus inappropriate to use any official resources to conduct campaign or political activities.

Of course Obama should meet his campaign staff in his Senator’s Chambers. Where should he meet the guy? In his freezer?

I’m sure that if Denny Hastert was stll House Majority Leader he would be defending the privelege of using official House or Senatorial offices to conduct or conceal criminal activities. … Especially if they have a (D) next to their name.

The GOP needs to convince the netroots to extract promises from all the Dem candidates that they will not appear on or purchase advertising from FNC during the entire campaign season. The eventual Dem nominee will at the very least look to purchase ad time to run negative ads on FNC. The nominee will either be caught in a lie to the netroots or forced to abandon a good venue for negative advertising.
