In response to a question from notorious left-wing shill Jennifer Loven, who currently holds the record for the quickest hit piece published after a State of the Union address and who was last seen in these parts drawing incredulous looks from Hamid Karzai for her moronic questions about terrorism. Here she wanted to know what the biggie is about someone from a branch that’s not constitutionally empowered to conduct foreign policy traipsing off to conduct foreign policy. Bush neglected to make that point, which is probably for the best for various reasons, and instead ticked off a list of reasons as to why the meeting’s such a bad idea. Including one I forgot when I wrote about it the other day: namely, that it never works.
Reiterating the press’s one-way position on separation of powers, David Gregory asked Bush later why he’d want to veto an Iraq spending bill with a built-in timetable. After all, hadn’t the American people elected the Democrats to conduct foreign policy? Have a banana, chimp-face.

Grandma Pelosi like great, great, grandpa Byrd is merely feeling the onset of Alzheimers.
You might want to reconsider tht whole stem cell research argument.

Allahpundit just made my point..As long as they speak, AP will work for the boss!
Pam on April 3, 2007 at 11:27 AM
So with Pelosi meeting Assad which one is “Speaking truth to power?”
LakeRuins on April 3, 2007 at 11:29 AM
I wonder if Nancy was really sent there to deliver a message… The Repubs were sent first and Nancy sent afterward to confirm the unanimity of the message. Crazy? maybe…
TheBigOldDog on April 3, 2007 at 11:37 AM
Nancy knows best what is good for this country, just read Time magazine, Newsweek Magazine, Cosmo. She is our Mother Pelosi.
She’s a woman, she just knows best what is good for us. It is like a Republican to criticize her for doing what she knows is best, what all smart people know is best.

That dingbat leftist Polosi needs to back off and go home. She’s endangering the lives of our soldiers and usurping the duties and responsibilities of the state department.

Well if anyone is an expert on counter-productivity, that would be Bush. I’m amazed people continue to show up at these things.
honora on April 3, 2007 at 11:51 AM
Looks like somehere would rather bend over and grab his ankles just for the heck of it.
Kokonut on April 3, 2007 at 11:58 AM
The really weird detail of this trip that I haven’t heard discussed is the simple fact that Representative Waxman looks exactly like a pig. That must be just totally freaking out our Islamic friends and enemies alike.
Griz on April 3, 2007 at 11:59 AM
Oh maybe they show up because he is the PRESIDENT??? The one who is supposed to conduct foreign policy?
Lets see… I didn’t get to vote on Pelosi… she aint my President. Why is she off in a foreign nation directly violating US Law (Logan Act) creating a seperate foreign policy?
And yes, I condemn Republicans who do the same dam thing.
Romeo13 on April 3, 2007 at 12:01 PM
I’m sure you do. That would be fewer reporters salavating over the latest pronouncements from those who were NOT elected President.
KelliD on April 3, 2007 at 12:02 PM
Good point. What makes it even worse is that she is only a member of the House, which means she doesn’t even speak for the entire state of California. And yet, there she is, acting on behalf of all of us. Makes me so freaking proud.

Didn’t you know that Madam Pelosi is the Most Powerful Woman in America? My God, she’s third in line to the throne, I mean the presidency! Who are we to criticize the Most Powerful Woman in America! Never mind the fact that the Constitution assigns foreign policy to the executive branch, she’s the Most Powerful Woman in America and no one should be allowed to challenge her right to decide the fate of the world! Isn’t that right, honora?
RedinBlueCounty on April 3, 2007 at 12:22 PM
If I heard him correctly, it sounded like the President was advocating an multilateral approach to dealing with Syria. But, wait, the libs have been railing about what a unilateralist his is. Could they have gotten it wrong??
Mother Pelosi’s efforts are the offspring of Jimmah’s and Jesse Jackson’s meddling efforts over the years. Where are the results?
Mallard T. Drake on April 3, 2007 at 12:27 PM
As the gal at Pelosi’s San Fransisco office told me…”If Bush wont talk to Assad, then speaker Pelosi must!”.
Unmitigated arrogance abounds in the moonbat mind!
csdeven on April 3, 2007 at 12:42 PM
Honera,
Aren’t you put off by Pelosi’s silliy remarks about there being a new congress in town? Her waving around the gavel like a little kid who got what they wanted for christmas? Bribing members of her own party with silly pork to pass a bill that hasno chance of passing?
Doesn’t it seem like she ought to be more mature and act like she’s been there before instead of like she thinks the position alone makes her qualified to be a responsible leader?
csdeven on April 3, 2007 at 12:48 PM
Are you serious?? Pelosi has no authority to go off and do this (and neither does anybody else in Congress). Where’s the outrage? Pelosi (and the other members of Congress) doing this is the equivalent of Bush drafting legislation and passing it all by himself.
Rick on April 3, 2007 at 12:49 PM
I wonder if Nancy was really sent there to deliver a message…
What message could Nancy possibly deliver, other than “We’re weak-kneed idiots, please come and attack us”?
mojo on April 3, 2007 at 1:49 PM
Watch out, she’ll bat you with an eyelash.
Nancy’s Chamberlain moment.
Kini on April 3, 2007 at 3:00 PM
The Dems have a long history of trying to undermine Republican Presidents and thier foreign policies.
Law be damned! The Dems beleive that here, as with most of their policies, they have a “moral imperative” to act. It matters not that they haven’t the authority!
conservativecaveman on April 3, 2007 at 3:48 PM
Yes I am. And I don’t think this trip is productive. My comment on Bush being the very embodiment of counter-productivity is not in conflict with that POV.
honora on April 3, 2007 at 3:54 PM
She does this out of her deep love and dedication for this great county.
Entelechy on April 3, 2007 at 5:30 PM
Correction - great country, not county :(
Entelechy on April 3, 2007 at 6:56 PM
Well then why take a swipe at bush? If you really want to earn some respect around here agree with us when you agree instead of ALWAYS presenting the negative view.
Your “counter productivity” statement is without context and the ONLY way for you to get it into context is to go off topic. It would sure be refreshing to see you give Pelosi the criticizm she deserves even if you never believe in conservatism.
csdeven on April 3, 2007 at 10:34 PM
Good post cs.
It seems many on the Left can’t shake their Bush Derangement Syndrome, at any time, to offer intellectual honesty.
angryamerican on April 4, 2007 at 1:02 AM
Actually, President Bush didn’t really criticize her. All he said was: “Thank God someone other than me has to put up with her crazy botoxed ass.”
Khyber Pass on April 4, 2007 at 8:46 AM
I think I have enough respect, and if not, I’ll live. Interesting that you refer to my opposing opinion as “negative”.
You’re right, I don’t post my negatives re Pelosi–why pile on? I provide a counter-balance. If that offends you, I am sorry.
honora on April 4, 2007 at 12:51 PM
Having the respect of your own kind isn’t respect. It’s cronyism. It isn’t about piling on. You could disagree with her and leave out the extra adjectives that a lot of use to describe her.
We don’t need a counter balance here. This isn’t huffpo or dkos.
And I know you’re sorry. Now apologize. J/K! Couldn’t resist.
Really though. Think about how you present yourself here.
