Video: Michelle clashes with O’Reilly over Rosie
posted at 10:25 pm on April 2, 2007 by Allahpundit
Only Papa Bear could wring disagreement out of a subject like this. He insists that Bertha can’t be controlled, and therefore Barbara Walters is completely blameless in (a) salvaging her career, (b) giving her a broadcast network megaphone with which to call for select Truther-themed googlings, and (c) sprinkling her with whatever’s left in Barbara’s bag of magic credibility dust. The boss and KP helpfully try to inform him that that’s insane, but there’s no reaching him. And so Barbara fiddles while Rosie burns. Or eats. Whatever.
Despite my pleading, KP did not in fact call for Rosie to be canned tonight, but she did recommend gifting her with a one-way ticket to Iran. And with that, she reclaims my eternal devotion from Chesty McTalkingPoints.
I forget what was being talked about here but it was worth a screencap. I think maybe Bill was telling her Rosie’s theory of what happened to WTC7.

Michelle is 100% corect not to give a pass to Barbara Walters. Bill O’Reilly is wrong to excuse his friend. Barbara Walters shoud be given h3ll for allowing Rosie to say what she has.
Phil Byler on April 2, 2007 at 10:31 PM
Tehran Rosie is so far out there that she is refuting her own conspiracy theories.
ganeshpuri89 on April 2, 2007 at 10:34 PM
Was wondering if this would be up tonight. Saw this live and MM was the usual concise, factual “bring the Mech guys on ABC”, “if ABC has the courage”, to debate Rosie’s point by point. MM was daring ABC to show cojones. Bill was himself.
KP, elegant as she looks, once again served that purpose. At one point “I don’t know what to say” – “Speechless on FOX” could almost be a movie…as benign as “Sleepless in Seattle”. AP, due to anonymity, you couldn’t play the male role, though she is pretty/elegant/decent/and a saner-than-the-others-Democrat.
This is precious. The link to “Rosie gets physical”, from within this one, merits a warning, I don’t know of which kind, though.
Entelechy on April 2, 2007 at 10:36 PM
Heh. I was getting worried about you, AP.
frankj on April 2, 2007 at 10:38 PM
Well, he’s right. That audience doesn’t care and won’t be budged from the fat asses to open their little pea brains.
Rosie is the pied piper of fatville and those cows eat it up like Rosie sawing through a butter-encrusted meatloaf with extra sour cream and chive mashed potatoes.
Damn, I’m hungry…
benrand on April 2, 2007 at 10:39 PM
Maybe we need to consider the fact that hanging upside down for extended periods of time may be the cause of her delirious behavior. In the end it can be summed up by the liberals’ own ideology: Nothing is your fault. Bush makes her say the ridiculous things she says(CIA mind control).
jarhead05 on April 2, 2007 at 10:40 PM
Barbara is old enough to take care of her own business AND she is not doing that. She is allowing a complete tinfoil hatted leftist loon spew hatred and lies which is par for the course with these profounds. I think, personally, that Rosie hates herself so much that it comes spewing out in all directions. I cannot help the fact that she is overweight and that her physical proportions are so way off…that is not my fault as a traditional human being…(a) her weight is her responsibility; (b) her disproportion is nature’s fault. But, at least she has a couple of stikes against her to begin with..BaBaWaWa is simply a queen bee bitch that loves her image of herself too much and believes her self to be soimportant that she cannot help herself.
sharinlite on April 2, 2007 at 10:41 PM
Thanks for the heads up about Excedrin being an advertiser Michelle. I already sent the email telling them I will not buy any of their products. I also sent a letter to ABC.
GoodBoy on April 2, 2007 at 10:42 PM
Bill is insane, (I always wondered, now I know).
Michelle is still at the top of her game.
Kirsten chalks up a few more credibility points.
And Tokio Rosie is still an idiot.
Lawrence on April 2, 2007 at 10:44 PM
I wish I’d linked it at the time I saw it because I can’t find it now, but there was a Digg thread the other day about Rosie’s trutherism. It was thousands of posts long, nearly all of it supporting her. She is mainstreaming this insanity and it’s on Walters and ABC to do something about it. O’R was talking nonsense on this segment.
Bryan on April 2, 2007 at 10:45 PM
Rosie in a burqua. Hmmmmm….. Maybe Islam isn’t so bad afterall.

When Michelle gets those angry eyes on, like near the end of the clip, I thought fricken laser beams were gonna fry O’Reilly in his chair.
Mindcrime on April 2, 2007 at 10:56 PM
Here is my personal move on this, I love the “Pirates of the Carribean” series, but I will not go to see it as long as ABC allows her to stay on the air. If a campaign was to grow with that in mind, THAT would get their attention.
bbz123 on April 2, 2007 at 11:05 PM
No. She’s echoing it. Trutherim is a common disease among the left. Many just don’t admit it; you have to get them to back into it before they realize they think it.
lorien1973 on April 2, 2007 at 11:14 PM
I was impressed with Michelle’s bag of adjectives..Good grief, I never could have strung that many together that actually made sense! Kudos to the gals…well spoken as usual
Pam on April 2, 2007 at 11:15 PM
If you’ve followed the HA threads, you’re no doubt aware that this is what I have been talking about. This Rosie business isn’t just some stupid liberal crap… This is mainstreaming the conspiracy theories, and I predict a large jump in the amount of people believing this stuff… Keep in mind, most average people have used common sense to shrug off the idiocy if they’d ever even heard of it so far. This crap will send them out to “Google it!” They’ll watch some of these Loose Change type videos and be drawn in, because it’s generally not conceivable to the average person that everything in the film would be a complete outright lie. People will watch these and be like “wow, that is weird” “whoa, I never realized he said to “pull” WTC 7″, etc. etc. Very few will seek out the debunking information because for starters it’s much more difficult to find as there are millions of Truther sites out there and you come across them in keyword searches first… but secondly because the debunking takes more time to do than simply watching an hour of “questions” (that in reality have already been answered) and total lies, set to spooky music… and again, psychology plays a role in people wanting to believe and be part of something. They want to be that one “in the know” who can go to their coworkers and fellow students and say “did you know that….”
Get ready folks, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
RightWinged on April 2, 2007 at 11:29 PM
I think I know why MM was so upset with Bill at the end, she was making a very good point……. Rosie’s audience was applauding at what she had to say!
There are people in this world, that listen to this “clap trap”, and take it as gospel, because it comes from Rosie, or another celebrity that they idolize, and for ABC or Barbara Walters NOT to get Popular Mechanics or any other credible source to “de-bunk” her “opinion”, then her “opinion” is seen as facts. And that is their only source of the news of today………
Then these people go out and vote………….. Welcome Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.
If a guest said that Bill Clinton was using Hillary’s Presidential campaign to travel the country to “sleep” with as many women as possible, as long as he brought home the cash, don’t you think the first thing out of Rosie’s mouth after the sandwitch, would be “Where’s your proof! Where’s your proof! Dellllllluuuuuuussssional! Dellllllluuuuuuussssional!”
PinkyBigglesworth on April 2, 2007 at 11:38 PM
Did anybody else notice KP’s hair? It kinda looked liked she just rolled out of bed, at least to me.
Mmmmmm….just imagine… ;-)
(AP, don’t ding me for saying this?)
BTW, Bill was just a little too overbearing towards Michelle, IMHO. Not a good thing.
kevcad on April 2, 2007 at 11:46 PM
KP kind of looks like Tennille from Captain and Tennille in that picture. So it’s obvious what Allah and KP’s song should be……
forged rite on April 2, 2007 at 11:57 PM
Heh, you’ve redeemed yourself with that one Allah.
Wait a second. She’s not responsible? She’s an Executive Producer! She’s second or third in line in for fault(I think she’s a co-exec), right behind the Moonbat Manatee. Bill’s friends with Walters and that’s clearly clouding his judgement. Malkin certainly tried to talk the O’ off that cliff, but she failed.
Bad Candy on April 3, 2007 at 12:03 AM
What I don’t get is how BOR went from “I’m not an Internet guy…it’s a waste of my time” to telling Greta VS that she doesn’t know “stuff” because she doesn’t follow the Internet.
Connie on April 3, 2007 at 12:11 AM
Thanks for reminding me of that, Pinky, that pissed me off.
I’ll still give him credit for giving time to the issue. That said…
Bill pissed me off a lot today. He also defended Al Gore’s and Kerry’s hypocrisy on global warming. Yeah Bill, go ahead and take away us plebes SUVs and any other creature comforts you can get ahold of to lower the quality of our lifestyles, while Gore and Kerry and the rest of you elite can continue to live like kings. Screw that and screw you, Bill. And yeah, I can say that, I bought obnoxious jerk offsets.
Bad Candy on April 3, 2007 at 12:12 AM
More than a quarter of the country believes that 9-11 was an inside job. Rosie is one quarter of The View. She’s just representing their “view.”
Hurrah for us.

Can someone give me the contact information for ABC?
bookwurm322 on April 3, 2007 at 12:30 AM
Ya’know, I think I disagreed with RightWinged a ways back about whether Trutherism would go mainstream on any level without being brutally smacked down swiftly and brutally. Looks like I mighta been wrong, but I’m guessing RW woulda liked to have been wrong…
Bad Candy on April 3, 2007 at 12:31 AM
In Europe, Rosie’s hate and tinfoil hat would hardly raise an eyebrow, so mainstream are such “views” there.
Human nature is frail.

Bill O was pwn3d by MM tonight.
csdeven on April 3, 2007 at 12:43 AM
Haha, you’re right… I’d have liked to have been wrong, and there’s still a chance I might be. But I’m sticking by my prediction at this point.
Don’t feel bad, you’re just a more optimistic person than I, and have faith that the truth wins out in the end. The media makes me drift further and further from that position every day.
RightWinged on April 3, 2007 at 12:51 AM
I think the truth WILL ultimately win out, I’m just a little shocked by the lack of embarrassment by the leftist elite and their media wing, so it’ll just take ol’ fashioned elbow grease to embarrass and marginalize the Truthers, just like Holocaust deniers, it’ll take longer, but we’ll do it. I’ll confess that caught me off guard, I just really thought the liberal elite would police their own and keep this nonsense under control.
Bad Candy on April 3, 2007 at 1:06 AM
Now that’s the AP we have all come to know.
Rick on April 3, 2007 at 1:25 AM
One of the things you have to understand about O’Reilly:
When it comes to the bigwigs in Network News, He will always side with them.
He might ‘go after’ low level reporters and non-news Network executives, but he wants to be a broadcast network news anchor so much that he will always side with the Dan Rathers and Barbara Walters types, right or wrong.
LegendHasIt on April 3, 2007 at 1:25 AM
I agree with O’Reilly, the public will tire of such extreme views laced with hatred. The O’Donnell Troll’s days are numbered.
Perhaps more of the electorate will recognize how irrational, misinformed, ignorant, and downright stupid those of the Left are. I hope this enlightenment becomes apparent in the next election.
omegaram on April 3, 2007 at 1:28 AM
I was busy earlier, so wasn’t able to watch O’Reilly, but did happen to catch bits and pieces of the show – one thing I thought I saw was Waffles and Mrs. Waffles on the show having a great old time. Was I imagining something there, or did that really happen?
Rick on April 3, 2007 at 1:29 AM
No Spin Bill giving Walters a pass. Did he give Ken Lay
a Pass. Did he give Jim Jones a Pass . Did he give Ward
Churchill or the university a pass . . .
M M is right on. Big Bill needs to get Walters on the
show and tell her how the Cow Eats Cabbage before R.O
eats the planet.
Texyank on April 3, 2007 at 1:37 AM
No, that was real Rick. I get that he has to give a softball interview. But he then takes a shot at people for calling Gore’s and Kerry’s hypocrisy on telling us to turn down the thermostats and drive Yugos while they live like a king, and that is garbage.
Bad Candy on April 3, 2007 at 1:42 AM
I don’t have any faith that people will see truthers for who they are. The past few years have shown pretty clearly that people prefer to take the easy way out, and it’s a lot easier to blame the U.S. government for 9/11 than it is to face the reality that there are millions of muslims who want to force their barbaric way of life in the world.

We can complain to the sponsors of The View. We can threaten ABC (and Disney) with complaints to the FCC. We can mount a boycott of ABC, as well.
There are a lot of things we can do besides complain about her here on Hot Air.
This is not the first time that Rosie has gotten a lot of people angry at her, in case you didn’t know.
I remember when Rosie went ballistic with Tom Selleck about guns. You remember when she said that gun owners should be in prison? When gun owners complained to KMART (she was one of their corporate spokespersons), KMART essentially agreed with Rosie and shortly thereafter, began to stop selling firearms and ammunition.
Gun owners began a spontaneous boycott of KMART, Rosie’s TV show, and all her advertisers. BTW, the NRA was caught completely off guard by it. They didn’t have a clue about it and were stuck playing catch up.
Several things happened as a result.
One, KMART had 3 bad quarters in a row that led to major losses that ultimately lead to a corporate reorganization. The losses were directly attributed to gun owners who simply took their business to Wal-Mart (who still carried guns and ammunition and make that fact public). And two, Rosie’s show was cancelled.
Now, I don’t have the megaphone that Fox/O’Reilly has, or even that Michelle has. But if enough people directly complain to ABC/Disney, if enough people start boycotting The View’s sponsors and the show itself, if enough people get vocally angry at Rosie’s nonsense, then ABC’s management will get rid of her.
How to start this?
Have every conservative blogger publish the phone number of ABC’s corporate offices, preferably their CEO’s extention. You can find this information via the FCC filings, BTW. Contact every advertiser of The View and complain. Tell them (and ABC) how OFFENDED YOU ARE at Rosie’s hate America/hate Bush campaign and “truther” nonsense. Tell them that you are angry at her continued raving. Tell them that either they muzzle her or get rid of her. Put them in the position where they can watch their income from advertising or their products being boycotted, instead.
Start an online petition. Start a fund to collect donations to run advertising in EVERY ONE of ABC’s major media markets.
Remember, their bottom line depends on their entertaining us or in their selling product to us via advertising. Make enough noise, prove to them that a significant number of people hate what Rosie is doing, and watch Barbara regretfully announce Rosie’s resignation.
Remember, ABC pulled the plug of Bill Maher’s show when he glorified the WTC attackers after only two weeks of complaints. Remember, as well, that Farenheit/911 was shown on less than half the screens possible due to a threatened boycott campaign led by patriots.
And finally, remember the Gathering of Eagles was such a huge success because of the concentrated effort to organize a counter protest.
My 2 cents, again.
georgej on April 3, 2007 at 6:01 AM
Why would they change the format or the characters. They have expanded their audience. Brain dead tabloid mom’s and now politicos hoping to catch the next mouth agape moment. The thing is I doubt her current labile viewership even knows who the Truthers are and they certainly are not the types to discuss the latests conspiracy theories with the other playground parents. Certainly not when they are concentrating all their positive energies on living The Secret and getting unexpected checks in the mail. Shrug.
frreal on April 3, 2007 at 7:58 AM
Plus a ticket to Tehran like KP said. We can make it work. Since Rosie is so convinced some secret gov’t entity set up this Iran hostage situation maybe they could arrange a trip for dear Tehran Rosie.

Perhaps I’m the only one who heard this, but I’ve got some bad news for all you “Rosie’s gone in a month” wishful thinkers… I heard that she was just offered something in the range of 40 million to stay on the View.
The biggest non-surprise of the day I’m sure.
Lehosh on April 3, 2007 at 8:08 AM
Am I not getting this? Why do they put KP and MM together? It’s like day and night. MM is brilliant. KP is a chirpy, whiney, emotionally-explosive child compared to MM. And when I look at MM’s bright, white smile compared to KP’s corn teeth, I can hardly watch.
PoliticallyIncorrectSandy on April 3, 2007 at 8:45 AM
Well, this will make the pendulum swing the other way, but it hasn’t returned to the “right” side yet. KP is still the girl for you AP. ;-)
As for Bill giving a pass to Bahbah Whawha, I am not surprised.
TwinkietheKid on April 3, 2007 at 8:58 AM
I’m all for that. The pussified voice within me says, “Oh, no, that would display an intolerance for free speech and make conservatives look even less tolerant.”
And then my actual voice bitch-slaps pussified voice, grabs it by the metrosexual lapels and yells, “Wake up!” If ABC/Disney is paying Rosie $X million to air out her theories that we set up the Iranian hostage scenario, why do I have to defend anything? If this is true, give us the facts. Have the mighty ABC News follow up this lead!
Is Ann Coulter going to get her own show on ABC? Michelle? Hell no… they might say something controversial or hurt someone’s feelings. Rosie’s safe and beloved by all.

Bill must be drinking koolaide if he think Walters has no control over what is happening. Even if she can not stop Rosie she can walk off the show any time she wishes. Instead she sits there like the good liberal she is.

Ms. Walters deftly navigates business/political vicissitudes, considering how succesful she is. But such abilities do not preclude strange, personal opinions. Perhaps she holds closely to the ideas O’Donnell espouses, but is too politic to claim them as her own. If so, it would be a wise move for her, then, to keep Rosie in her position to take all the heat while putting these fringe, insupportable ideas into the mainstream media. Consider, even O’Reilly releases Walters from any expectation of responsibility over Rosie’s content.
Jens on April 3, 2007 at 5:06 PM
I love the look of indredulity on Michelle’s face when O’Reilly said he was going to give Babwa a pass. I’m right there with you.

It was this event that helped my sister and me see just how pitiful this woman is.
We hadn’t minded her up to this point and often enjoyed her show. I can tolerate many things, but not when someone suggests that someone that upholds all of my rights is wrong. She was rude and inexcusable. She doens’t want guns. fine, b but just exactly when does she expect crooks to follow the laws? there isn’t an ounce of brains in that head.
I haven’t watched even clips of the view since she has been on, and I used to sometimes try to find them for when they had someone I like on. I don’t even watch the one that AP kindly puts here for us! I have no wish to get ill.
