Video: Kermit on patrol in Anbar

posted at 10:51 am on March 30, 2007 by Allahpundit

Silly fun courtesy of the Influence Peddler. I’ll make you click for the details. Suffice it to say, the “muppet gap” is now closed.

And here’s something else making the rounds. It’s borderline insofar as it shows muppets doing things we wouldn’t show people doing here, but (a) it’s funny, (b) if you can handle “Team America: World Police,” you can handle this, and (c) how often do two Kermit videos land in your lap on the same day? So here’s one for the Trent Reznor fans. But before viewing, please observe this, your official content warning.

Speaking as a big NiN and Muppet fan, that second video is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life.

Huh. The Sad Kermit website exists, and there’s a disturbing cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” in mp3.

Slublog on March 30, 2007 at 10:59 AM

Kermit’s picked up the ol’ Thousand-Yard Stare. He’s seen some stuff in his time.

F*ckin’ tragic what happened to Lou Zealand, man…all he wanted to do was throw fish for a living. But they’re gonna pay. Oh yes, they will.

:D

The second was rather macabre, which I know was the point; but not really my cup-o-tea.

The first one was funny… but you gotta wonder what the Iraqis think when they see our soldiers doing stuff like this.

dalewalt on March 30, 2007 at 11:13 AM

Well I like sick humor as much as the next person, probably more. But didn’t think this was nearly as funny as the average Muppet Show skit.

…the “muppet gap” is now closed.

How funny.

Kermit stood strong in Iraq. Upon turning home he had PTSD… Turned to drugs and song to blunt the hurt.
God Bless Our Troops.

You could see that in the face of the first one in the clip – “What in the name of PBUH is goin’ on here…”

He has good taste in music too!!!

The same thing the terrorists think-”What kind of sick/mutated mind thinks these things up, for entertainment. Allah save us from the Americans”.

tormod on March 30, 2007 at 12:04 PM

BWHAHAHAHHA! LOL!

Umm, wow, that was weird. I don’t think Trent would be happy, but then again he did say that it wasn’t his song anymore after Cash did the re-make. Such a powerful song though, especially when you see it performed live with the movie backdrop. April 17th, Year Zero, whoo hoooh!

“I’ve got my pen, I’ve got my fist, I’ve got survivalism”-TR

The Iraqi soldiers probably want to know why the hell they’re holding a stuffed green frog in a military uniform.

Wow. Kermit’s been to Iraq, now, more times than Nancy Pelosi.

Deep, deep inside they would know that such imagination only comes through intellectual freedom. Something Americans take for granted. Some, a very few, who live under tyranny, still manage to keep their minds free. They are usually killed as dissidents, or driven to insanity as unfit. Read We the Living.

Ahhh Hot Air!

I come for the news. I stay for Muppets shooting up and Panda porn.

Thanks! I needed that.

Canadian Infidel on March 30, 2007 at 12:42 PM

Heh, that first one is awesome. Kermit’s going retro with the Thompson SMG too, funny. That first Iraqi guy had a total WTF? look on his face holding Kermit.

That second one was interesting, its a razor’s edge between kinda sad and funny.

I second that notion, and throw in Anthem for good measure.

Roark on March 30, 2007 at 12:48 PM

Hmmm… wonder what those poor Iraqi soldiers would think if they knew he was dating a Pig???

Well said.

Yakko77 on March 30, 2007 at 1:26 PM

Edgy! Could be worst folks. Can you imagine the watered down version the EU would spin on Sad Kermit.

Kini on March 30, 2007 at 1:51 PM

Wow. The best part, indisputably, of that second video, was Kermit snorting coke off the cover of “The God Delusion” by Richard Dawkins.

Did anyone else catch that?

You beat me to it.

Speaking of the pig (no, not Rosie), the picure Kermit threw, did she have a “wardrobe malfuction” in that picture?

Too many Jihadi Vs Piggy jokes . .

MirCat on March 30, 2007 at 10:43 PM

Just think of the international incident when they learn who Kermit’s girlfriend is.
