Yea, yea perfect world. I don’t think at this point in time the party committees are doing any better job than the old boss system did in choosing candidates.

As many as we still have to kill.

If the RNC did their job we should have candidates to stand up and cheer for.

I think you’re right, Newt does seem to express his personal wisdom quite well lately.
I would though like to see him with a greater ability to effect actual change, whatever position that would be.
I’m just shy (as I’m sure a lot of us are) of the bait and switch politicians that we have tolerated for far too many years now.
If the RNC did their job we should have candidates to stand up and cheer for.

I hear ya, I just think another office would ruin him. Relieved of the office, he has the freedom to express his inner beliefs so clearly. Tied to an office, he is then also tied to the politics which run that office, thereby constraining and even diminishing the freedom of thought so clearly expressed in the quote you provided above. I’m convinced he is more valuable as a “free agent” (for lack of a better descriptive) in that he can talk about his true beliefs without any fear of political consequence.

Newt by far has the best gray matter in politics.
He also knows how the machine works, he doesn’t need a learning curve, he can step in make adjustments and those who would, aren’t about to get away with guile and deceit.

In my mind I want to know, would he be true to the citizens will, truly defend the Constitution or would he roll for the big/international bankers and Corp. currency loyalists?

I’m starting like the idea of a Thompson-Gingrich White house team.
Thompson lends the perception of morals and character to the mix and Gingrich adds the brute brains and horsepower.

The recent vote for a time line to withdrawl the troops of the United States of America fighting the war against those who want to kill us all, by the Democratic controlled Congress of the United States of America.

Plain and simple. The Democrats “own” defeat, and will not be happy until millions die and the terrorist are trained by Iranians, supplied by China and Russia, and start walking into an elementary school near you, seperating your childs head from his/her body, all the time having and Islamic orgasim over our defeat.

Yes Democratic party, your sucess is being celebrated, and this is just the start. You have no one else to blame but yourselves…….. maybe, just maybe, those who stayed home last time out when it was time to vote, might look at this and say, “hey, wait a minute……”

In the back of my head, I hope Gingrich doesn’t run for office because he’s far too valuable on the speaking, book signing, and talk show circuits. A presidency would rob the U.S. and the world of a consistent, intelligent, conservative voice it desperately needs to hear.

I think that they’re placing it all on the line in “do or die.” If they do not prevail, here, now, then Al Qaeda is finished.

I think that we are very, very close to killing the snake.

Al Qaeda, which is facing a significant threat from Iraq’s Sunni nationalist and Islamist militant groups, is trying to achieve three goals: First, to maintain its parallel power structure in the Sunni areas; second, to emerge as the vanguard of the Sunni resistance to the United States and the Shiite-dominated Iraqi government at a time when Sunni political leaders are cutting deals; and finally, to embarrass the Iraqi Islamist militant groups by arguing that they are not following true Islamic teachings.

This is a broad and far-reaching strategy. Also, very well thought out. However, does anyone really believe AQ (from what we’re told) has the resources to pull this off? By the day, Iraqi’s are putting their own money into rebuilding efforts, are giving up insurgents in their midst, and are joining the police force to fight lawlessness (even if their tactics can be described as questionable). Of course, if we cut funding to our military efforts there and bring our troops home, AQ’s strategy becomes so much easier.
