The United States was heavily researching anti gravity publicaly in the 1950's before it all went into the black box research. If you do a patent search, there have been numerous patents given for anti gravity saucer type aircraft but that is about as far as you can go to confirm we are working on this tech.

I was out at Norton Air Force base in the early 1970's and saw one flying at night. I also have been out to Area 51 before the Government expanded the perimeter. You could see them testing the saucers at night with a good set of high powered binoculars. They are huge and are so fast that it would probably kill a pilot from the g forces so they must either be remote controlled or they have designed a system to protect a pilot from the g forces.

You cannot even get close to area 51 anymore because the patrolled perimeter has been expanded and the mountain top where I used to go is off limits now.

All of this research is top secret and the public will never know what is going on until the Government decides we need to know just like the SR-71 and F-117 were sighted by citizens before it was disclosed they existed.

Laugh now younglings, where technology goes may surprise you. In a recent History Channel presentation of Modern Marvels on Stealth Technology there was speculation that the United States really is working on saucer shaped aircraft. That shape apparently has unique properties that are conducive to superior stealth technology.

How different is that from this? Except that the former apparently has a lawnmower engine in it somewhere?

um,
Wow dont know what to say.
The Link on that video shows a link to Jean Naudins web site I have been reading his stuff for YEARS. He has been a home researcher for alternative energy (as in collecting electricity from space etc.) he also built a highvoltage UFO device that lifted a mouse off the ground only using electricity. As far as I knew he lives in France, I didnt know he had been contracted by anyone. If you google "overunity" or "free energy" you'll eventually come up to one of his websites.

Not that the guys is a Kook he actually has some brilliant ideas and works very hard on his projects. (hence this sorta cool UFO thingy.)

This is just a little helicopter. Sikorsky developed a small helo similar in concept to this back in the early 1990's. It was called 'CYPHER'. It was 6 ft in diameter and used a Wankel gasoline engine for power. Sikorsky tried to sell it as a video surveilence system to the Army, but never sold it, for some reason. It was probably about $500K/unit. Used two counter-rotating rotors.

I think a much better investment would be massive dirigible aircraft carriers. Especially when fighting low tech stone age scum like Iran.

Well, it's confession time.

I saw an actual flying saucer. For real. Parked at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ. Right outside of Anzio Landing Italian Restaurant where the fly-in's park their airplanes.

Honest.

Cross my heart and hope to die from the wonderful fettuccine alfredo they make at Anzio Landing restaurant.

My family and I were visiting Phoenix on a combination vacation-business trip. I had been told by some of my associates of the saucer at Falcon. So, I suprised my oldest (who was a big X-files fan) by taking the family to the restaurant. As we were walking in, her jaw dropped because right outside the picture window overlooking the runway and airpark, was this parked flying saucer with it's lights flashing.

Now, here's the good part.

The thing was made by a local eccentric from aluminum sheeting, a plexiglass dome, and was powered by a 4 cylinder volkswagon bug engine. And it flew. Really. The owner and maker was caught flying it on the Gila Indian reservation and busted by the FAA, because it was unlicensed (as was the "pilot'). I guess you'd call plane a ducted fan -- like the one in the video clip. And, apparently it was unstable as hell.

You can find a refence to it in the book The $100 Hamburger by John F. Purner.

I've been told that a microburst destroyed the saucer several years ago.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Be comfortably assured that whatever "technology" manages to turn up on UTube, or in Popular Science, you'll never see the truly awesome stuff until it's being replaced with a newer generation.

In 1978 the Air Force admitted the existence of the SR-71, which had been flying since 1962. In 1989 they publicly acknowledged the F-117, which had been flying since 1982 (and which the Lockheed Skunk works had begun design on in 1965, but couldn't create a flight control computer to manage the pyramidal shape. It was called the "Hopeless Diamond").

Places like DARPA are always developing new tech, and the most useful of it is always kept a secret as long as possible.

This rudderless, donut-shaped helicopter is little more than a toy. And the noise it makes is unavoidable when running that sized fan at the RPM necessary to create lift for that body.

Actually we already have this. Do you ever watch Future Weapons on the Discovery Channel? Cool show, but I saw a camera that is launched from a grenade launcher which provides a birds-eye view of the battle ground. Very cool stuff.

But I honestly don’t see the point in making a flying saucer.

Darth Executor on March 29, 2007 at 8:50 PM

Actually there would be a very good use for these, as maneuverable video feeds in an urban combat zone. Small enough to fly up over some obstacles and feed back video of where the bad guys are.

Fire for effect!

Some weird magazine I saw at Barnes and Nobles had a way to make an ion propulsion ship. You had to use like aluminum foil and balsa wood and then attach wires with 10,000 volts from a computer monitor highly dangerous. I think you can find some on youtube. Can't rememeber what they are called but they would actually hover in the air. Very Dangerous.

Some weird magazine I saw at Barnes and Nobles had a way to make an ion propulsion ship. You had to use like aluminum foil and balsa wood and then attach wires with 10,000 volts from a computer monitor highly dangerous. I think you can find some on youtube. Can’t rememeber what they are called but they would actually hover in the air. Very Dangerous.

Hahaha!

A badass flying lawnmower. If it gets me off this rock, I'll take it. :o)

Just got back from Alpha Centuri and I must say I am not impressed. Maybe I'll sell them some hi-tech parts from my third prototype which worked well in keeping the noise from my frozen daiquiri production in the rec room compartment from being heard in the whole freakin' neigborhood during hover tests. Man, until that breakthrough, liquor cost overruns caused by inquisitive neighbors was killing my research.

How different is that from this? Except that the former apparently has a lawnmower engine in it somewhere?

Wow, how many carbon-offsets will the Pentagon need for full-size models of these?

Or are these "hybrid" UFO's?
