Media Matters mauls Politico
posted at 9:36 am on March 28, 2007 by Bryan
I haven’t done any scientific surveys to determine if the George Soros creature called Media Matters for America is actually the lamest site on the internet, but intuition tells me that it is. The people who run that site use the bottomless pockets of Soros, a man who thinks America is a Nazi country today in spite of the fact that we’ve spent precious blood and treasure to put down a couple of Nazi-like regimes since 2001, to come up with the silliest, most one-side critiques of MSM journalism you can find anywhere. Then they breathlessly report these non-stories as though they’re reporting the very end of the world and creation itself. They take themselves very seriously indeed, but no one else has any reason to treat them likewise. They’re basically a left-wing outfit lavishly funded to push the MSM to the left.
Here’s an example. Media Matters is up in arms because–gasp–Drudge got a tip about a story yet to hit the streets and–gasp again–promoted it. You mean…Politico tipped Drudge? And Drudge promoted the tip? And then posted a link to the story once the editors at Politico hit the publish button? How shocking. My world may never be the same again.
Adding to the comedy, MMfA cites liberal blogger Rick Ellison, sorry, Glenn Greenwald, as its subject matter expert on Why This Matters. And apparently, MMfA sees no problem with using a leftwinger as its go-to guy to explain media imbalance.
To recap: MMfA is shocked, shocked that Matt Drudge gets good tips and flogs them. As if that hasn’t been Drudge’s standard operating procedure from day one. I wonder–do the geniuses at MMfA realize that this is pretty much how the entire internet works? On tips, leads, leaks and links? And to buttress its clueless case against both Drudge and Politico, MMfA doesn’t go to a neutral or non-partisan analyst, which with its Soros-funded Rolodex its legions could surely find if they wanted to. MMfA goes to a leftwinger known for his own hypocrisy and sock puppetry. Neither of which rates a mention in MMfA’s breathless exposee. I wonder why.
Mr. Soros needs to de-clownify Media Matters for America.
And yes, this post originated from a — hold on to your hats, folks — tip.

Why do you care, Bryan? We all know who they are.
Is it Soros or Greenwald that has you so incensed?

Not a chance. He’s probably proud of it.

My grandfather, God rest his soul, was on his death bed. He beckoned me to his side. I grabbed his hand, tears streaming down my face. I said, “What is it Grandaddy?” For the first time in a long time his eyes appeared clear and his last words I’ll never forget:
“Matticus, never trust a gypsy or a Hungarian.”

It’s obvious that wackiness, stupidity, or downright insanity is excused when the person is wealthy. If Soros had no money, he would be wandering the streets of the city mumbling to himself and carrying “The End is Near” signs. But wealth sometimes gives a person some credibility even when undeserved.

Wow…I guess once you start writing a story it is your intellectual property.
All of us here have had our intellectual property stolen. We type with our fat fingers while the next guy types with his fast fingers and then slam down the ‘Submit’ button. Lo and behold NeoConNaziFengSui has posted my thoughts two minutes before I did. What to do? Sue the bastard!

I care because it’s entertaining to watch MMfA pretend to be something that they’re not.

Media Matters is just upset that Drudge didn’t wait 24 business hours before posting.
RedinBlueCounty on March 28, 2007 at 10:08 AM
Well, from my POV, the whole left is incessantly engaged in pretending to be something that they are not.

George Soros bathes himself in the moisture of my soiled and bloodstained underwear.

I don’t imagine that the fact that the story in question is of the sort Soros and company don’t want published has anything to do with the purple rage on display at MMfA.
No, when people discuss things among themselves without MoveOn.org involvement, it’s a conspiracy. And we all know how evil conspiracies are.
Keep watching MMfA. One of these days, we’re going to see a website actually burst a blood vessel for the very first time. I hope someone gets a screencap.

To these goons, only leftwing media matters.

Tips are immoral and wrong. Unless they involve GOP corruption rumors. In which case, I bet Media Matters would laud the tip as critical to democracy.

The spiders have detected one attempting to crawl out of the box and are now flailing in their attempts to get it back where it belongs. The notion of political reporting that is independent of the political agenda of a news conglomerate is very dangerous to them. People might actually start reading it. That it might be their own fault for slanting the news causing readers to go elsewhere for perspective doesn’t dawn on them.
Expect the attacks on Politico to now increase from all media because Sorros has now signaled that Politico is fair game. The Post and The NY Times will be next to slam Politico, just watch. Politico is a threat to their stranglehold on political reporting. A free and independent press is the last thing the Democrats ever want to see.

Media Matters and Newsbusters are both worthless, laughable organizations. They both put themselves on a pedestal as some sort of media watchdog, exposing bias and standing up for truth, when in reality they are two of the most partisan and demagogic organizations around.
You can’t be a media watchdog if you’re only going to tell one side of the story. Until a credible, truly non-partisan source exists for exposing factual inaccuracies and slant towards one side in the news we’ll be forced to do it on our own. Both of these sites are a joke and not worth anyone’s time.
JaHerer22 on March 28, 2007 at 11:52 AM
You’re spelling it wrong. It’s “Media Matters for Amerika“.
Similar goals, too.
Nethicus on March 28, 2007 at 12:00 PM
JaHerer22,
MMfA isn’t terribly concerned with factual inaccuracies, and there are none in the Obama story in question. If a story isn’t delivered with their approved hard left spin, MMfA is going to bark about it. Not so with Newsbusters…unless you’d like to provide some similar examples.

Well, Soros know a Nazi country when he sees one.

Hopefully that will be the first week in 2008 Pablo.
John from WuzzaDem, that is an incredible link. Had no idea. I thought of him as a monster before. The only good thing about Soros is that he is as old as he is. He’s one of the ugliest beings in the world, in all he undertakes and stands for, having milked the very system he so condemns.
