Audio: Chris Wallace rips Keith Olbermann

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace unloads on Countdown to No Ratings’ Keith Olbermann last Friday on the nationally syndicated Mike Gallagher show. After Gallagher tells Wallace that Olbermann dubbed him Worst Person in the World, Wallace pummels Olbermann for several minutes. He calls out the deranged MSNBC windbag for casting himself as the next Edward R. Murrow.
And there’s more.
The whole segment isn’t red meat. It’s gold. Someone get this man to work writing on The 1/2 Hour News Hour, where they need him. Badly.

Wallace is my new favorite guy.
amerpundit on March 26, 2007 at 11:35 PM
Olberman encapsulates the ENTIRE liberal mindset post 9-11.
They are unhinged and whacko, and yet we conservatives seem to lay down to them like mangled baby ducks. What does it say about ut?
Bully for Chris Matthews….
Dr. Gecko on March 26, 2007 at 11:36 PM
Yee haa!
Go get em Chris!
Its one thing when WE make fun of Olberdunce, but dang thanks for lending just a bit credibility to the SLAMFEST!!
-Wasteland Man.
WastelandMan on March 26, 2007 at 11:38 PM
LOL! Go Chris! “May I quote you?” “Absolutely!”
Oh…it’s on. Too bad not many will actually hear Keith’s response because…you know.
thedecider on March 26, 2007 at 11:39 PM
Wow. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard Chris that worked up about anything. Probably just gave Olbermann more publicity than he’s ever gotten in his life, but it was fun to hear a real journalist put that hack in his place.
aero on March 26, 2007 at 11:45 PM
Is Olby really pudgy? I posted on Digg one time that he was Groucho Marx’ grandson, and the place went nuts…
d1carter on March 26, 2007 at 11:46 PM
Heh. Chris Wallace is kind of a stuffed shirt on Fox News, but is great on the radio. His weekly segments with Howie Carr are golden.
Slublog on March 26, 2007 at 11:49 PM
American Pie Dad Keith couldn’t hold Murrows Jock.

Screw you Chris! I have a frog and on many occasions it has called me ugly. Think before you speak, you just don’t understand what it feels like!
RightWinged on March 27, 2007 at 12:01 AM
… like being called ugly by a frog!
:)
petefrt on March 27, 2007 at 12:06 AM
He’s a “desk jockey” from the “toy department.” hahahaha. That sound you hear is the air rushing out of Olby after being speared and deflated by Wallace.
Mallard T. Drake on March 27, 2007 at 12:07 AM
Glad you guys condense this into something tolerable, cause I couldn’t.
Way to go Chris!

you know a good jounralist when he can completely rip someone apart in the most calm and collected manner.
Opinionnation on March 27, 2007 at 12:10 AM
This is a complete smack down. I bet he had the smirk in his face.
Ouabam on March 27, 2007 at 12:13 AM
Priceless……………
PinkyBigglesworth on March 27, 2007 at 12:16 AM
triple, Mike Gallagher is on during mornings, I’m thinking 8-11 or 9-12am. He has a fair sized audience. The only way you might know who is is that he was the guy who let the screwball Phelps people have an hour on his radio show if they would leave the funerals of the victims of the shooting shooting rampage in the Amish community.
Does Gallagher believe the NAU conspiracy? I’m thinking he does…
Bad Candy on March 27, 2007 at 12:17 AM
Of all the people who KO has targeted on his WPITW spot who knew it would be Chris Wallace who would nail him with both barrels…I wonder if Chris knows about the “monkey” remark that KO made about him after the Clinton temper tantrum..I bet if he did he’d punch ol’KO right in the mouth.
mlong on March 27, 2007 at 12:25 AM
Oh, and Chris Wallace pwn3d Keith ‘this is the finger I use to write the show’ Olbermurrow.
I actually have a Olbermann Mii, dunno, I thought it was funny, gave him the big eyebrows and everything. Yeah OK, I amuse easily…
Bad Candy on March 27, 2007 at 12:26 AM
Take THAT, Keith, you HACK!
tickleddragon on March 27, 2007 at 12:28 AM
Oh, and Olbermann, your Moonbat Rhetoric is outdated, its Faux Noise, not Fox Noise. And you’re supposed to say (sing?) something like Faux News Uber Alles!
Bad Candy on March 27, 2007 at 12:32 AM
Gawd almighty. A great way to start the week! Touche!
wccawa on March 27, 2007 at 12:44 AM
Oy, oy, oy – Olberkind got a grilling from a professional journalist. Stinkin’ brilliant!!!
“Pseudo-intellectual” – M. Gallagher
“Edward R. Murrow walked the streets of London during the Blitz; this guy never left his desk” – or close to it…
“toy department”
Then Mr. Wallace “you can put this out there” – yes, propagate it because this dude is a real zero and he really grates on me.
I have never seen/heard polite Mr. Wallace Jr. this irritated, and understand him to perfection. He was obviously surprised at being called the ‘worst person of the week’ by this pretentious nobody in the field.
Elegant job from a professional authority!
Entelechy on March 27, 2007 at 12:44 AM
And the jewel quote….
Did Chris dis sports casters? Me thinks he did.
csdeven on March 27, 2007 at 12:45 AM
Odormann has a major malfunction in the head if he thinks he can call out Chris Wallace.
You don’t go after someone from “The Family”(think Corleone’s, Soprano’s, etc.).
kevcad on March 27, 2007 at 12:48 AM
Mike is a morning radio host in Dallas on Salem Radio. Good show–very well produced.
ScottMcC on March 27, 2007 at 1:33 AM
Great to hear Chris giving the Smack Down to Olberloser..would love to hear them go head-to-head
and watch/hear Chris humiliate the Olbermoran.
Im_no_dhimmi on March 27, 2007 at 2:12 AM
There is the Chris Wallace that we know from TV. And the REAL Chris Wallace, -Howie Carr fans -REALLY- got to know a completely different individual, he is far more engaging and witty, than I had ever imagined, and -far- more CONSERVATIVE than I would ever have guessed.
He does not let his personal politics get into the mix, because I never would have guessed that he was so Conservative based on his interviews. He’s even handed.
My opinion of him sky-rocketed after hearing him banter with Howie and getting teased over his “Man-crush” on Mitt.
(Steve Ducey also teased Wallace about it on-the-air yesterday and Wallace brushed it off. :-)
Go CHRIS!~
Tina Hey on March 27, 2007 at 2:23 AM
I think the only thing Chris left out was comments on Olbermann’s soiled and bloodstained underwear.
RightWinged on March 27, 2007 at 3:12 AM
Yea, I do live up in MA and howie carr makes every other semi-major talk show host sound like trash. I guess im just spoiled.
triple on March 27, 2007 at 3:28 AM
That was great. A true, genuine smack down by one of the best. KO may end up with some sort of inferiority complex after listening to that!
“…he couldn’t cover a two alarm fire…” WOW.
Zorro on March 27, 2007 at 6:55 AM
Too bad Howie pushed the Mitt crush thing so hard. Chris doesn’t go on the show any more.
kmcguire on March 27, 2007 at 8:17 AM
Ian, pure brilliance.. thanks so much for this gem!
MsUnderestimated on March 27, 2007 at 8:21 AM
Oh boy! Daddy would be so “proud”. C. Wallace should never bring his Marxist daddy into ANY conversation. I’d bet Wallace’s daddy would side with Olbermann.
lynnv on March 27, 2007 at 8:36 AM
Howie was forever teasing Chris and Chris knew it was only a matter of time before Howie got him to say something joking that would get him in real trouble (beyond the Mitt’s an “enormously attractive man” comment). Howie knew it too. It was fun while it lasted.
TheBigOldDog on March 27, 2007 at 8:52 AM
Much like his lovemaking, Keith seems to have peaked early and has become irrelevant.
Pam on March 27, 2007 at 9:10 AM
That was great to listen to! I really enjoyed Chris getting his dander up. Didn’t know he had it in him.
Catie96706 on March 27, 2007 at 9:16 AM
Let’s see…keith who…???…who’s he talking about…???…is that the ko that was fired from ESPN…???…If so…Wallace is right on…
areseaoh on March 27, 2007 at 12:07 PM
Wow, Chris Wallace is a lot cooler than he acts like on TV. The fact that Gallagher played a clip from Olberdouche (dashing my hope to live and die without ever seeing a moving picture or hearing a syllable uttered by the moron) was made up for by the rest of that.
Wolfman on March 27, 2007 at 1:56 PM
The bitch-slap hear ’round the net. LOL
RedinBlueCounty on March 27, 2007 at 2:03 PM
Heard Mike talking about this on his show today and had to log on to hear it for myself. Chris Wallace has officially gained a new respect in my eyes. I just feel sorry for the guy who had to actually listen to Olberman to record the sound byte.
laydeeliberty on March 27, 2007 at 2:18 PM
oberloser…I like that…he’s the reason I no longer listen to the Dan Patrick Show…and the rumor is out there that dan p is more liberal than oberloser…go figure…
areseaoh on March 27, 2007 at 3:50 PM
The truly sad thing is that KO seems to be striving to be Jon Stewart and not Edward R. Murrow. Jon Stewart is most likely KO’s favorite “journalist”.
