Why does his appointment prevent his deportation? Just politics?

He overstayed his tourist visa, and then the Labor immigration minister of the time decided to grant him permanent residence. This is ironically the same minister who implemented the mandatory detention (hello Tancredo) policy, which most people on the left use to protest vehemently against the Liberal government these days..

Yesterday for the first time I saw a woman in a store in full robe and niqab-only a small slit for the eyes. She was obviously pregnant and pushing a stroller with a small boy about age 2 or 3. Her husband was about 10 feet or so in front of her. I did see them speak to each other so I knew they were together.

I was surprised she was out in public, being so pregnant.
I was also surprised that her husband was wearing a Reebok t-shirt and shorts. If he’d been wearing a long robe, the contrast wouldn’t have seemed so weird, but they looked like 2007 AD and 207 AD together.

I think it would also be good if Minneapolis cabdrivers from Somalia could also volunteer as lifeguards to improve their image in Minnesota – the land of 10,000 lakes.

With their speed they could rescue you in no time – unless, Allah forbid, you have alcohol on your breath. Then, as Calypso Louis said recently, the judgement of Allah has come upon you.

But, hot popping prohphets, that still would be no problem, the next lifeguard in line could then swim out for the rescue. Although 90% of the cabdrivers are those Sharia loving guys you have at least a 10% chance of rescue.

How about a 500lb woman in a short skirt? That’s a lot of uncovered meat. No?

Ok. How about a 120lb woman in a short skirt with plenty of bronzed skin showing except she’s 90 years old.

Didn’t a group of schoolgirls get burned to death a while back in Saudi Arabia because the Saudi religious police wouldn’t let those Saudi firefighters get in to rescue those girls by touching the woman flesh?

Didn’t a woman Muslim doctor refuse to treat a man with testicular cancer which resulted in his death?

They will need both woman and men Muslim lifeguards swim out at the same time to the drowning victim to see who will be able to touch the victim. If you are gay or a Jew then you are in real trouble. Women firefighters in full garb and veils will also be needed.

I wonder how this guy would feel about rape and beatings for punishment, if gangs of women were allowed to molest men (however they deemed fit) using the same double standard rules of proof that Islam dictates for women?
