Good news: Aussie imams set to reaffirm rape apologist as mufti

And why not? They’ve been protecting him for years.

SHEIK Taj Din al-Hilali is almost certain to be re-endorsed as the spiritual leader of Australia’s Muslims during a gathering of the nation’s Islamic clerics in Sydney tomorrow.

Sheik Hilali is expected to win the backing of 60 imams to continue in his role as mufti despite making a series of controversial declarations in the past year, including that Muslims have more right to live in Australia than Anglo-Saxons because their ancestors did not arrive as convicts. He also compared scantily clad women to uncovered meat…

It is understood that some imams will push for the position of mufti to be voted on every four years. Sheik Hilali has not faced a challenge for the position since being appointed mufti in 1989, a move made in an effort to prevent him being deported because of inflammatory remarks he made in relation to women and Jews.

They’re going to make up for it by formally declaring that Australian Muslims should pay their taxes, vote, and otherwise follow civic obligations that, um, everyone else in the country already follows. Apparently there were some in the community who were “hazy” on that point.

This is intriguing, too:

It will be one of a series of items on the agenda for the meeting which will also consider a report by the Lebanese Muslim Association suggesting that clerics should be encouraged to become surf lifesavers and volunteer firefighters to improve the Muslim community’s image.

LMA president Tom Zreika says in the report that Australians have “had enough of us”.

Whether that is true or not Sheik Hilali says he and the community have had enough of Mr Zreika.

Meanwhile, across the Tasman Sea, more healing: “It’s an underlying threat, but it’s like the twin towers – they imploded. Islam does the same thing to a society – it makes it implode.”

Some on now AP, this one actually deserved the meat picture:

In the religious address on adultery to about 500 worshippers in Sydney last month, Sheik Hilali said: “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?

“The uncovered meat is the problem.”

Well of course they will. He was right, you know. Women who get raped were asking for it like the meat they are. (Does that make sense? I’m sure to a muslim, it does.)

Why does his appointment prevent his deportation? Just politics?

This interesting:

Race Relations Commissioner Joris de Bres said freedom of speech meant viewpoints could not be suppressed “unless they lead to hostility”.

Why exactly does a country need that position?

No political relevance there. An elected position to represent the Muslim body in Australia, what could go wrong?

Feel the love.

I wonder how this guy would feel about rape and beatings for punishment, if gangs of women were allowed to molest men (however they deemed fit) using the same double standard rules of proof that Islam dictates for women?

… a report by the Lebanese Muslim Association suggesting that clerics should be encouraged to become surf lifesavers and volunteer firefighters to improve the Muslim community’s image.

Didn’t a group of schoolgirls get burned to death a while back in Saudi Arabia because the Saudi religious police wouldn’t let those Saudi firefighters get in to rescue those girls by touching the woman flesh?

Didn’t a woman Muslim doctor refuse to treat a man with testicular cancer which resulted in his death?

They will need both woman and men Muslim lifeguards swim out at the same time to the drowning victim to see who will be able to touch the victim. If you are gay or a Jew then you are in real trouble. Women firefighters in full garb and veils will also be needed.

That’s exactly what we need… female muslim firefighters. I really wanna be trapped in a burning building, then see my rescuer collapse as her burka lights up like the 4th of July.

Uncovered meat?

How about a 500lb woman in a short skirt? That’s a lot of uncovered meat. No?

Ok. How about a 120lb woman in a short skirt with plenty of bronzed skin showing except she’s 90 years old.

I think it would also be good if Minneapolis cabdrivers from Somalia could also volunteer as lifeguards to improve their image in Minnesota – the land of 10,000 lakes.

With their speed they could rescue you in no time – unless, Allah forbid, you have alcohol on your breath. Then, as Calypso Louis said recently, the judgement of Allah has come upon you.

But, hot popping prohphets, that still would be no problem, the next lifeguard in line could then swim out for the rescue. Although 90% of the cabdrivers are those Sharia loving guys you have at least a 10% chance of rescue.

I say if he talks about a man not being able to control himself, why not start a collection to pay for a few ‘Ladies of The Evening’ to visit him (with a camera of course).” I can see the front pages all over the world now. .

Yesterday for the first time I saw a woman in a store in full robe and niqab-only a small slit for the eyes. She was obviously pregnant and pushing a stroller with a small boy about age 2 or 3. Her husband was about 10 feet or so in front of her. I did see them speak to each other so I knew they were together.

I was surprised she was out in public, being so pregnant.
I was also surprised that her husband was wearing a Reebok t-shirt and shorts. If he’d been wearing a long robe, the contrast wouldn’t have seemed so weird, but they looked like 2007 AD and 207 AD together.

Why does his appointment prevent his deportation? Just politics?

He overstayed his tourist visa, and then the Labor immigration minister of the time decided to grant him permanent residence. This is ironically the same minister who implemented the mandatory detention (hello Tancredo) policy, which most people on the left use to protest vehemently against the Liberal government these days..
