The country (and freedom) we grew up thinking would last forever is disappearing in a downward spiral in our lifetime. History indicates democracies are short-lived, and I believe we’re seeing the reasons why.

The modern left is leading us into a new Dark Age. You are not alone petefrt. It is happening before our very own eyes and there seems to me that it can’t be stopped. The Republicans are totally impotent when it comes to fighting back against these people. They must shed this ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ crap and stand up and fight them with everything they can find. I’m an old fart and I have never in my lifetime seen a political party roll over and play dead like the current administration is doing. What are they afraid of? The dems hate them anyway so they don’t have to worry about hurting anybody’s feelings. The problem is that it may be too late.
Is Bush going to let them force Gonzales out? Personally I am not a Gonzales fan but not over the firings. He is perhaps one of the most ineffective AG’s we have ever had. And we thought Janet Reno was bad! He doesn’t mind putting border patrol guards in prison for doing their job but he gives Berger a slap on the wrist and will not prosecute that dude who hid all the bribe money in his freezer. What is the problem here? The reports say they have him on video tape accepting the dough but he is not indicted. Why doesn’t somebody up there in DC demand that he be indicted. What are they afraid of?

And this isn’t just some obvious media lefty, he’s been praising and hanging out with Slick Willy for years, golfing, even crashing in at the White House.

Don’t you think there will be a lot of fair coverage when Hillary gets the Dem nomination? A lefty female anchor who I think it’s safe to assume is part of the “it’s time for a woman president” crowd (basically every Democrat says this, because they would rather be “progressive” than say they want the most qualified candidate), being produced by a close Clinton friend, while Clinton’s wife runs for president. Oh yeah, CBS will be the gold standard in fair coverage in this election.
