Debbie Schlussel has an excellent post on the thuggish Mark Wahlberg’s new anti-American, anti-war movie.

Heh: Jason Smith finds the irony in today’s pork filled pro-terrorist bill.

Who said it?

“I would publicly support him [Al Gore] if he joins the race.”

“It’s just not fair.”

“Don’t buy into their big lines.”

“I’m a pilot and I know just about every machine that flies. It was bigger than anything that I’ve ever seen. It remains a great mystery. Other people saw it, responsible people.”

Blowback

It was Gore’s plane on the way to the Mexico City opening of his movie.

I had to admire Symington’s last statement though. It is “conceit” to believe we’re alone in this universe. If life can take hold, it refuses to be denied.

Just sayin….

Dare I say the unthinkable?

Is it just me, or is the recklessness of the rhetoric, and the growing deceitfulness of MSM, portending serious trouble for this country, even a breakdown and national crisis within our lifetime?

Incase anyone wasn’t aware, CBS has hired lefty and Clinton pal Rick Kaplan to produce Katie Couric’s piece of trash.

http://newsbusters.org/node/11297

And this isn’t just some obvious media lefty, he’s been praising and hanging out with Slick Willy for years, golfing, even crashing in at the White House.

Don’t you think there will be a lot of fair coverage when Hillary gets the Dem nomination? A lefty female anchor who I think it’s safe to assume is part of the “it’s time for a woman president” crowd (basically every Democrat says this, because they would rather be “progressive” than say they want the most qualified candidate), being produced by a close Clinton friend, while Clinton’s wife runs for president. Oh yeah, CBS will be the gold standard in fair coverage in this election.

“It’s just not fair,” said the former President with a sadness not seen since the Ron Brown funeral.

I thought the quote would be from Algore, referring to the fact the anyone would consider disagreeing with him.

Heh: Jason Smith finds the irony in today’s pork filled pro-terrorist bill.

Charlie Rangel announced on Cavuto that the pork was left over from the last congress and was therefore the fault of Republicans, He called it Republican Pork.

“I would publicly support him [Al Gore] if he joins the race.”

A confused Hillary Clinton said this after she couldn’t recall that she was running for prez.

“Don’t buy into their big lines.”

Roger Clinton complaining the DNC was charging too much for their cocaine at the ’96 convention.

You are not alone petefrt. It is happening before our very own eyes and there seems to me that it can’t be stopped. The Republicans are totally impotent when it comes to fighting back against these people. They must shed this ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ crap and stand up and fight them with everything they can find. I’m an old fart and I have never in my lifetime seen a political party roll over and play dead like the current administration is doing. What are they afraid of? The dems hate them anyway so they don’t have to worry about hurting anybody’s feelings. The problem is that it may be too late.
Is Bush going to let them force Gonzales out? Personally I am not a Gonzales fan but not over the firings. He is perhaps one of the most ineffective AG’s we have ever had. And we thought Janet Reno was bad! He doesn’t mind putting border patrol guards in prison for doing their job but he gives Berger a slap on the wrist and will not prosecute that dude who hid all the bribe money in his freezer. What is the problem here? The reports say they have him on video tape accepting the dough but he is not indicted. Why doesn’t somebody up there in DC demand that he be indicted. What are they afraid of?
Sorry – I got carried away with all this but something must be done – and now!

The country (and freedom) we grew up thinking would last forever is disappearing in a downward spiral in our lifetime. History indicates democracies are short-lived, and I believe we’re seeing the reasons why.

The modern left is leading us into a new Dark Age. In this regard, you may be interested Evan Sayet’s very powerful lecture, delivered earlier this month at the Heritage Foundation, Regurgitating the Apple: How Modern Liberals “Think”, which I just ran across at American Thinker. Sayet outlines Allan Bllom’s “The Closing of the American Mind”
You can view it at the Heritage site or at YouTube.

You may enjoy Evan Sayet’s powerful lecture, delivered earlier this month at the Heritage Foundation, Regurgitating the Apple: How the Modern Liberals “Think.” It outlines how the modern left configures their world and how this Looking Glass ideology is taking us into the new Dark Ages. You can see it at the Heritage site or at YouTube.

Sayet’s lecture was based largely on Allan Bloom’s classic: The Closing of the American Mind. As I said, it’s quite powerful.

I agree totally with pertfrt and OBX Pete. It makes my head hurt to think about some days. In the spirit of the rare open thread on HA, I find myself wanting to travel back in time to the fun loving 90′s when cool bands occupied my attention more than the mess we’re in now.
