A German Judge has actually ruled that, because a man and woman are of Moroccan descent...

I'm of Norwegian descent and thus a Viking.

The Vikings came from the Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway and Denmark).
http://www.vikingart.com/Vikings.htm

Does this mean that I can legally invade Germany, rape, pillage, burn, and take women as slaves as my ancestors once did? Cool! Look out Germany, here I come!

Hail Vikings! We Are Your Overlords!

Did you all read all the linked articles? The German’s are outraged, the judge is getting canned, the decision is being overturned...
B Moe on March 23, 2007 at 8:06 AM

Actually, the link I read said that the judge was recused from that case for conflict of interest and further measures have been recommended. Also, the decision was not overturned - in fact, it is unlikely the case will be reheard before the elapse of the year waiting period.

Don't let Justice Breyer get wind of this.

It's about time we invented a religion that makes sense. Using children as living bombs, it is ok to beat your wife, behead people who do not believe, cover the most beautiful thing on earth (women), have sex with goats (don't know if that is true but it sounds right), murder innocent people, and when insulting someone show them the bottom of your shoe.
What a great religion.

I saw a bumper sticker last week along the lines of, "When Jesus said love thine enemy, I don't think He meant kill them."

Suffice it to say I don't look to bumper stickers for theological scholarship.

Careful Pinky, Limerick, someone will accuse you of fomenting revolution.

I daresay the American public will be unable to take back the schools or the borders without first beginning to force elected leadership to obey their oaths of loyalty to the Constitution. When we start to conscientiously vote out every politician who subverts or ignores the real law of the land, then we'll be on a road back to reasonable government.

If we don't begin to do that, I fear that things will continue to worsen until a revolution is inevitable.

Maybe Germany and America aren’t so different after all. Our judges seem to find “rights” that don’t exist in written law as well.

thedecider on March 22, 2007 at 10:31 PM

American judges are doing it because it's the cool, hip thing that those morons in Europe are doing.

I hope that judge gets what's coming to him. Slowly, if you catch my meaning.

I cannot fathom how Americans, religious or not, can stand in support of a religion that believes it’s right to kill anyone that doesn’t convert.

Nothing to worry about. A few more brave, clever essays from the likes of Martin Amis and Hirsi Ali and this kind of thing will be vanquished under a mighty wave of secular feminist pluralism. My only worry is that Amis, Ali, Styen et al just aren't writing fast enough.

What we must not do is restrict immigration, no, not even to call for it. Not even to discuss it in more than a few words at a time, offhandedly, every few years, and then only to reject it because, you know, travel and communication these days, there's nothing that can be done.

We can wring our hands and stomp self-righteously every time something like this come up in the news. We can go on endlessly about how awful "multiculturalism" is--that shows what clear-eyed terror warriors we are, as opposed to those wussy liberals. But to try to reduce the Muslim influence by actually reducing the presence of Muslims--that would make us Nazis, and would only encourage and, perhaps, justify the illiberal behavior of the Muslims.

I want to know when the leftists and islam-apologists are going to wake up? Will they say "enough is enough?" or will they let this stand as well?

How hard is it for them to see what's happening to women and other cultures and religions as islam - I refuse to capitalize it - spreads?

Will they only - if then - be willing to admit they've been subjugated after they're facing Mecca and praying 5 times a day under the threat of a noose or ax or bullet?

I cannot fathom how Americans, religious or not, can stand in support of a religion that believes it's right to kill anyone that doesn't convert. How can they support people that use children to smuggle car bombs past check points and then blow the car up with the children still inside. How can they picket and demonstrate in support of men beating their wives and committing honor killings on female family members? How can they chant and sing in support of a religion that will take their rights to assemble away? How can the gays and lesbians and nudists and all the other 'get your freak on' communities stand up and support a religion that will take their right to excercise sexual freedoms and mode of dress away?

I personally may not agree with everything that President Bush does and says. The same goes for his administration. However, they are correct in that we must stem the tide of radical islam at all costs.

I want to live a long time, see my son grow into a man, spend time with my grandchildren and maybe great grandchildren, and then die and be buried in the country I love. On the other hand, if living to a ripe old age means facing Mecca and kneeling 5 times a day, then you might as well behead me now. I won't do it... ever!!

Support the troops!!

That’s not the point. Of course there is intolerance in America, there is intolerance all over the world. However, some places are much worse than others, and I think (maybe it’s just me[No, it's me and you]) that America is probably just a little bit better than most other places.[probably? a little? let's just say the best] I don’t know, billy, what do you think? Did you read the Germany story posted above?[I did] Are you aware of how Muslim women are treated in Islamic countries?[unfortunately so] When was the last time you saw a Muslim woman stoned here in the U.S. after being raped?[never]

Look Rick, I believe this is a truly special, I would say blessed, country that we live in. When we take Muslim nations to task for mysogynistic attitudes and laws, I just ask that we remember an important fact about the GWOT:
We are trying to bring them up to our level.
If we're setting the bar, let's set it high.

Basically he invalidated every law on every German book. As long as a counter point can be found in a religious text then the law is trumped. I totally agree the woman is the victim of a crime by her husband, but Germany is the victim of a crime by this judge.

I
had a feeling that evil America was going to play a part in this story. It never fails. I guess it’s much easier to be a Muslim woman somewhere else, like say…Saudi Arabia? Iran? Germany?

"While I understand the positions of each group, I do not represent any specific one as I find living in America makes it difficult enough to be a Muslim, much less to choose to follow one sect or another," she writes.

We must reject the notion that any judge’s ruling applies to anything except that one specific case and that international law has any bearing on American law.

Very well stated, Buzzy. Only true conservatism can stop that from happening. Unfortunately, the courts and the Congress are very liberal.
