I’m in College Station, TX (caught a Ray Charles concert – yes, he was there in the auditorium of A&M :), and saw only bits of the Gore appearance at night – was struck at how ugly, truly ugly this man has become. He is a caricature of a human being and has no clue about it. And what was with that shirt honora, my elegant-dress-advocating-friend?

If the Democrat Party won a mandate back in November, why are they so divided on the issue of Iraq? Democratic Party leaders are facing a caucus deeply divided on the issue and hold only a narrow majority in Congress…….

In any case, I like the massive respect for the office shown to “Bush” and “Cheney” (as they are generally referred to in the MSM).

Do I need to provide a CDIB card for your review? The point of my carpetbagger comment was the last oil boom we had in OK was in early 80’s, about the same time Detriot was suffering. We had jobs in the oil patch and the laid off union auto workers came down in droves for jobs. Not the most productive bunch of guys I’ve worked with since the oil patch isn’t unionized. Along with it they brought their values that have IMO not been what I or the people that I know want for OK. They complained about everything right up to the oil bust, when they left. Don’t let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out of town I say. I love OK and I won’t leave it.

I have no love for Gore, but there is no such thing as an ex-vice president or ex president. They are vice president forever and president forever. They are just not serving the country. It is still (shudder) President Carter. It honors the position, not the person.

Notice that she was not representing Calif. at the hearings, but is one of the Democratic leaders. I did not notice the California seal on that gavel. Senators represent their state, and represent national interests. That “insufferable person” is a leader in the Democratic party. One more reason to not call yourself a Dem.
If you struck each of the Dem leaders who are embarrassing, you would end up with a short list of honorable Dem leaders.

Oh yeah:

That said, let me point out, that we address ALL “ex” presidents, and “ex” vice-presidents, by the title of the office they once held…I’m pretty sure, we extend this courtesy to senators and even mayors.

We do this, out of love and respect for our Country, and what it stands for…Not because of politics or ideology.

After all, wasn’t Ronald Reagan entitled to be addressed, “Mr. President,” even after he left office?

I’d like to see Al Gore debate anyone on global warming. Bjorn Lomborg and Lord Monckton keep calling him out but he won’t do it.

Inhofe was great! His constant references to “his time” was an obvious and deserving shot at the Algore for skirting all of the commitee rules all day long!

Good job Senator! At least SOMEONE on the Right is fighting back about something, ANYTHING, geez!

I couldn’t agree more!

On several issues I have sent emails to these guys and on all occasions I have received either a reply (not a form letter but something directly addressing a specific topic) or a phone call when they are back in OK. I can not say enough about these two guys, they are true Sooners and they give me hope that our country will not go down the crapper.

As for the higher culture, to hell with the rest of the country. Culture to me is working in the oil patch, cow crap on my boots, my Winchester 93 in the pickup window. Born, raised and live all my life in OK, wouldn’t live anywhere else. Not that it applies to most who post here but we don’t want any more carpetbaggers moving here like the last time we had an oil boom.
