A couple of decades ago an environmental foundation began offering a certification to corporations who offset their pollution impact on the world. Unlike Gore’s blatant hypocrisy, this setup is about actually planting new trees or doing other active, positive things that help make up for pollution. Now I’m not one who cares one way or another about all that. I believe we shouldn’t unnecessarily harm the planet, but I also believe that all of humanity would have a real hard time doing truly serious harm to God’s creation.

Anyway, all of that to say this. To date, only one corporation on all of planet Earth has done the work to earn this (non-)coveted Climate Neutral Certification.

Has the Goracle mentioned this, the one poster-biz for doing things his way? Of course not, because they aren’t buying indulgences from him in the form of phony “carbon offsets”. Instead, they paid to replace kerosene lamps and diesel generators with solar powerplants in Sri Lanka. They converted all of the diesel-burning buses in the San Bernardino, California school system to bio-diesel (used cooking oil). They planted over a million new trees in Asia in the 1980s, and are in the process of planting a million trees in Africa. There is one, and only one, large-scale American corporation honoring the spirit of combating human pollution as the folks like Gore would wish, and they aren’t being heralded as an example that it can be done. I can only wonder why.

If we’re talking now about the people who will get real profit from real carbon offsets, I disagree with the designation, “smart, conservative capitalists,” as being too restrictive. It was Gore and his cronies who were some of the first to leave the starting line, and the Left leadership in general isn’t shy about making money or being rich. As nearly as I can tell, the leaders of any political group tend to become well-off eventually, whether in accord or discord with the moral teaching of their politics.

Take a picture of a tree outside your house, if you don’t find one, download a nice one from the internet.

Go on E-Bay and sell “Carbon Credits”….. using the picture of your tree.

You can sell as many pictures of trees as you can, never having to deliver a seed, just a photo shop certificate……. and that is another opportunity!

Let’s all start creating “Carbon Credit Certificates” to sell to the “Carbon Credit Land”, who will then sell them to the “Carbon Credit” recipients?
