I don’t think it’ll be THAT big an impact on Hillary. It’ll hurt because there’s truth(by which I mean totally true) about her ruthless drive for personal power. That said, this response commercial was a weak response to the Obama one, which has been the general theme of Hillary’s campaign. Its kinda funny when that rings true for people and ads unaffiliated with the campaign(as far a we know).

In the appendix of his book 1984, Goerge Orwell described Newspeak, the lauguage of the totalitarian socialist world. Newspeak was designed “to provide a medium of expression for world-veiw and mental habits” of the ruling class, and “to make all other modes of thoughts imposible”. Newspeak category “B” words “consisted of words which had been deliberatly constructed for political purposes: words that not only had in every case a political implication, but were intended to impose a disirable mental attitude upon the person using them”. These Newspeak words words were difficult to translate into ordinary English because they “were a sort of verbal shorthand, often packing whole ranges of ideas into a few syllables.” These “B words” were always compound words, a noun-verb combination welded together and eazy to pronounce. Gun-control is a perfect example.

This one was hokey compared to the Hillary version. The Hillary ad was more dramatic and the Big Brother, er, Sister imagery was very effective. This version was just a cheap, meaningless rebuttal. But, I’m sure AP’s right and there will be a string of bad knockoffs to come.

The Damage is done to Hillary. That Ad was devastating because it fit so perfectly, revealing a larger truth. Most who see it will never forget it, just like the original Apple ad which, as I recall, only officially aired once. Attempts like this only remind people of the truth of Hillary original.
