Thanks Robert. Of all the absurdities and travesties of Islamic law, the most heinous seems to be the apostasy law. To put someone to death for changing or abandoning religious faith should clearly indicate that Islam is barbaric.
Wow, I’m surprised that Spencer is actually suggesting that Obama become the religious tolerance candidate who has any real chance of ending the war on terror. I tend to see Obama as some type of Manchurian candidate, and I think raising the issue of apostasy law during the campaign may do more harm than good. It is, however, spot on in terms of needed Islamic reform, but it slips in the distraction of the death penalty, among others. Touting Obama as the former Muslim might empower other Muslims to follow suit, and put the brakes to this religion, but it’s going to take a whole lot more to address both the fundamental and extremist problems. I doubt that Obama will even consider jumping into these issues with any substance.
I think Spencer would like to see a candidate - any candidate - honestly address the ferocious intolerance of Muhammad’s teachings. Continuing to pretend Islam is being perverted by extemists is the biggest problem with the WOT.
Nah, he’s too koleen, art-tic-u-late, and a nice guy.
Not qualities we want for office. Prerequisite’s require at least one affair, one bribe, and at least one shady back room deal or level of gross incompetence.
These are the people we put into office. Seems to me it’s the litmus test for all politicians.
I haven’t followed Spencer closely, so I could be wrong. He seemed sincere to me. It was a little surreal to hear someone giving campaign advice to Obama on a conservative blog. Good campaign advice, too.
I don’t think Obama’s target audience for the Democratic Party primaries would tolerate such a message. Spencer’s advice would require Obama to admit that America has a problem other than George W Bush. The Kossacks and DU-ers would punish him most severely for this.
Agreed. Placing this video statement out there now is a brilliant move on Spencer’s part. Spencer’s comprehensive style outdoes any slick ad (think Hillary 1984) .
Frankly, it doesn’t matter how much truth you put out there, liberal minds are gonna believe what they WANT to believe, and disregard the rest. That’s the way their goofy minds are wired, and that’s the way it works. It wouldn’t matter a bit if practicing Muslims were killing people daily the world over and still blowing up large buildings here on occasion, liberal minds would STILL believe that the REAL threat to them and America are the evil Christian conservatives.
I too think Mr. Spencer is genuine with his message. Though I disagree with Sen. Obama’s liberal stance on policy, he could have a unique perspective to address apostasy law.
I have nothing to argue with here. Freedom of religion is something we take for granted in America. Americans should be free to have any religion they want.
Blowback

Loved it. Especially working in the “Clinton was the first black president” thing.

My problem with Obama? He changed from the world’s most intolerant relgion, to an African Centric racist “Christian” religion.
Please… go check out his church…

Robert Spencer ends with: “Senator Obama, thanks for listening.” Right. I’m sure Obama is getting right on it.

Robert Spencer = A Man with a Message.
This guy is great. I’m emailing the link to the obama campaign.
I for one encourage more promotion of his books. His message is one of tolerance and vigilance not just “can’t we all get along.”

This, I like.

P.S. I like all of Robert’s of course.

No doubt.
And not just watch, prepare.

Brilliant, Robert… as usual. I love it.
Here’s something else that is a bunch of hooey: Barack Obama actually taking your advice. It could happen, but I won’t hold my breath.

I guess they need to find someone who remembers if Obama had pit hair before he converted.
