Video: Richard Gere: “We have a President right now who lies constantly”
posted at 7:45 pm on March 16, 2007 by Ian
Appearing on the “Late Show,” BDS inflicted actor Richard Gere told host David Letterman “we have a president right now who lies constantly.”
O’Reilly showed the video Thursday night and following it with a clip of Gere getting booed talking about showing “compassion,” “love,” and “understanding” towards our enemy at a 9/11 fund raiser.

Richard Gere does not believe in violence–that means Gere a pacifist.
Fred Thompson does not believe in Richard Gere–that means Gere officially no longer exists.

Who cares what Richard Gere says? There is nothing about him that commends listening to any supposed “thoughts” of his.
Phil Byler on March 16, 2007 at 7:53 PM
Lies constantly…what, is Bill clinton still president? I thought that was a good thing.

Can I be the first to say “Gerbil,”
TugboatPhil on March 16, 2007 at 7:56 PM
Perhaps one of these days they may actually say what some of the “constant lies” actually are…
Mibrilane on March 16, 2007 at 8:03 PM
As far as the 9/11 clip is concerned, of course he feels that way, he’s devout Buddhist. I’m not approving of the message, just sayin.
SouthernDem on March 16, 2007 at 8:04 PM
But Mibrilane, he lies about the war, he lies about Walter Reed, he lies about KSM, he lies about A.G. Gonzalez, he lies about Halliburton, he lies about everything. /sarc
The nutroots wouldn’t believe Pres. Bush if he told ‘em the sun will rise tomorrow.

I was all set to insert my own “gerbil” joke, too.
Of course, I probably wouldn’t have used the word “insert.” Cuz that’s just wrong.

Can Richard Gere buy Gerbil offsets if he feels the need?
And if so, would his opinion count then, with a little higher pitched voice?
PinkyBigglesworth on March 16, 2007 at 8:55 PM
OK.
I have to admit something.
I don’t get it.
I must be slow or uninformed or just out of touch.
What’s with all the gerbil comments?

Another brain dead socialist that hasn’t figured out that Bush isn’t running again in 2008, oh look it’s an actor, and guess what he’s on TV. Gere’s way cuter than Rosie though.
“BOOOOOOOSH LIIIIIIIIED”… What is that?

Gerbils run wind sprints in this guy’s rectum. So what? Does that really negate his rock solid takes on politics? I don’t think so.

Well, at least snopes says that this gerbil stuff is an urban legend …
Who could’ve thunk up something like this anyway?

No; what he says does that. Just the gerbil bit is far more interesting than anything that comes out of his mouth.

This video clip of Richard Gere is a classic example of why the Left is incapable of effective leadership in the real world.
Richard Gere’s sentiments of peace, love, and understanding are noble and admirable but not realistic in this world. He is naive, does not understand the consequences of failure in a world that contains ruthless dictators, and is completly ignorant of the price so very many have paid so that he can have freedom he takes for granted.
There will always be another Gengis Khan, Napolean, Hitler, Stalin, and Hussein. History is filled with examples of ruthless despots who will not hesitate to perpetuate barbarity that would stun the naive Gere and his ilk. Chamberlain is an example of Gere’s type of politics and where appeasement will so painfully lead.
We are in a conflict with the Islamofacist for the forseeable future. This conflict is a continuation of resistance to Islamic conquest that has been going on for centuries. We need wisdom, strength, and keen insight from our leaders to avoid disaster. Gere, and his ilk, will give us weakness, naiviete, stupidity, and defeat with an enemy that will ruthlessly impose their will on those that are unfortunate enough to be conquered by them.
Gere is a classic example of what the Left has to offer – and why we cannot afford to let them impose their politically correct ideology on American policy.

Parley on March 17, 2007 at 10:18 AM
My first reaction was “this coming from a guy who plays Lemmiwinks” but that’s just too easy. He’s Mr. Peace Love and Understanding except when he doesn’t get his way. I worked in a hotel when he was married to Cindy Crawford and everytime we couldn’t satisfy his teeny little ridiculous requests he would say, “Do you know who I am?” I remember my boss saying, “Yes, sir I know who you are and we can’t make special rules just for you.” Hollywood hates Bush because they didn’t get their way in the election, period. These people throw tantrums like 3-year olds when they don’t get the table they want in a restaurant. They play dress-up for a living for gosh sakes. They make personal attacks against anyone who doesn’t bend to their whim on a dime and they’re angry with us for ignoring their influence in the last election. Drives them crazy. They don’t care about war – as they didn’t care about Bosnia – they don’t care about the carelessness of the government toward its own citizens – as they were completely silent about what happened in Waco – they don’t care about scandal – because they were silent about White Water, Filegate, Travelgate and the 93 US attorneys that were fired by their “hero” Bill Clinton. They are simply ticked that they didn’t get what they wanted in the ’04 election. It’s as simple as that.

(Tears In eyes) He’s got no place else to gooooo!
Buck Turgidson on March 17, 2007 at 10:28 AM
I’m with foxforce91, but I’d like to take it a bit further. I’ve often thought that, overall, libs are STILL dumbfounded at how they lost the 2000 election, not just the one in ’04. I’ve often thought that the ones who voted for Nader in ’00 did so, thinking that it wouldn’t matter, because Gore was a shoe-in. No one in their right mind would vote for GWB, so maybe throwing some votes Nader’s way wouldn’t hurt.
It may sound farfetched and a little underdeveloped. But I sometimes wonder.
Gottafang on March 17, 2007 at 10:40 AM
You can’t tell me that Hollywood REALLY cares about lying. You really can’t. They let Kennedy go, they let Pelosi go, they let Reid Go, they Let Sandy Berger go, they let Hillary Go and they let Bill go.
At what point can they look me in the eye and tell me they ever UNDERSTAND what a lie is when nothing dishonest those folks have done are called into question.
Pure and unequivocal politics from people in entertertainment without two brain cells between them to rub together.
Noelie on March 17, 2007 at 11:09 AM
It must be true. He hears it in his liberal echo chamber all the time.
Buck Turgidson on March 17, 2007 at 11:19 AM
What we actually “have” is a bunch of spineless seditious liberals and news media who is more than willing to tow the democrats “party line” of lies, misinformation, and traitorist ways…all in the interest of making political hay. For liberal politicians, it’s all about power. They believe that ANYTHING is “ok” as long as they are in charge and NOTHING is “ok” they are not. For the normal liberal minded democrat, it is all about Godlessness. They all have gods in their lives all right, it’s just that lacking the God of the Bible and His moral guide, they just go whichever way the winds of disguised evil and other assorted goofiness happens to be blowing at the time. Right now it is swallowing the “global warming” lies, before it was “pollution is ruining the world stupidity”, and next it will be whatever other foolish or dangerous deception the world has to offer them.
They really are a pitiful bunch. Limbaugh used to call them “human debris”, but they are really just lost deluded souls, working their way towards an eternal end that is even worse than their pathetic lives are here.
NRA4Freedom on March 17, 2007 at 12:07 PM
Hmmm. Perhaps Mr. Gere should stick to familiar subjects.
I once saw him in a movie called ‘pretty woman’ and another movie where he portrayed a gigolo.
Yeah.
He should stick to stuff he knows…like whores and sychophants.
locomotivebreath1901 on March 17, 2007 at 12:43 PM
If anyone knows all about living a lie, it’s Richard Gere.
ReubenJCogburn on March 17, 2007 at 2:55 PM
Right, locomotivebreath. He was in that movie “Looking for Mr. Goodbar” too. I remember as a young teen going to see “American Gigolo” and he did that full frontal nudity shot. In the scene he was supposed to be doing some kind of deep monologue type thing yet everyone in the theater was snickering pretty loudly. If he only knew.
foxforce91 on March 17, 2007 at 3:34 PM
All of the Dems run around saying Rosie doesn’t represent them, Penn doesn’t, Gere doesn’t, Dean doesn’t…in fact everyone who opens their mouth in support of the Dems ends up “not speaking for the party”.
This is a great year to sit back and listen to these yahoos pontificate.
(Do I get an award for using yahoo and pontificte in the same sentence?)
right2bright on March 17, 2007 at 4:35 PM
I wonder if actors and their like will ever realize that they have absolutely no effect on the world and it’s inhabitants. They are not influential in any real sense and have no lasting effect beyond the next episode or sequel. After all, you never see anyone carving a face of an actor into the side of a mountain, do you?
Here’s the harsh reality that most people hate to admit, especially people like Gere who think they are somehow important. Mr. Bush will forever be know to history as a President of the United States of America while they rest of us will someday be reduced to just a name on a grave marker. Long after the rest of us are dead and forgotten, Mr. Bush will have his portrait hanging in the White House and that portrait will stay as long as America exists.
Mr. Bush will be rememberer by many long after he dies. He will be immortalized in History. Can Richard Gere or Rosie say the same?
