“I don’t trust the media to tell the story of the surge”
Say it aint so…
So we win this thing, then we leave and the MSM has to compete with multiple documentaries highlighting their errors and bias. If I were a news director I would be wishing for defeat too. They are just invested too deeply in defeat to turn back now. The MSM’s biggest numbers come the babyboomers and nightly news. That demographic is going to pass away in 20 years. Isn’t it bads business to alienate the next generation?

Will there be a next generation to alienate?
The way the next generation is currently being re-educated, I’m not sure it’s going to matter.

Excellent. Now will anyone see this other than HotAir bloggers?

We need more frontier journalism like this making into the mainstream.
Michelle gets lots of face time on Fox. Too bad the network doesn’t give her and Bryan and Allah a 1/2 hour slot for Hot Air.

I completely agree that the imbed program COULD be useful.
IF the military set WWII type reporting standards that ensured the safety of our boys FIRST.
IF the military insisted they truly IMBED for weeks at a time and live la vida loca.
IF the MSM weren’t such lying p*ssies.

A devastating commentary on the MSM, which refuses to go after the “story” in Iraq, but is content to deliver antiwar talking points. How can we make informed decisions when we cannot get accurate information on what is happening in Iraq? Kudos to the gentleman here and all others who are risking their lives so we can be informed. For the MSM, coverage of both the Iarq war and the war on terrorism generally has been shameful, indeed little better than Pravda during the Soviet glory days.

If a socalled journalist is going to stay most of the time in the hotel or only spend a couple of days on patrol, then I propose the term ‘tag along’in the same manner of police tag alongs.

FANTASTIC Vent and they seem o tell it just like it should be reported. I am sorry the real word never gets out when the MSM has an agenda, which they do. I saw it in parts in Nam and see it so blantantly here on the WOT. The MSM hasn’t a clue and if it means coming out behind thier safe zone then maybe we would get some honest coverage but then again I find it highly doubtfull. I am impressed by the truthfullness of this man in saying that”The real story will not be told about the surge”.Is it ever when the MSM is doing the story??Thanks again MM and Hot Air

Great Vent Michelle!
The Islamofacist will not stop with just a tax for those who do not believe as they do. Their concept of “Dimmi” is slavery, complete subjugation in every respect. Stand for your beliefs or die on your knees takes on new meaning with the Islamofacist.
Iraq is the front lines in the conflict with the Islamofacist. The Left does not see this fact and is, as usual, unable to percieve the importance of the issues there.

For those who don’t understand the “Desperate Ground” reference…
Sun Tzu “The Art of War”
He speaks of “Ground which can only be saved from destruction by fighting without delay”
Thus in “Desperate ground, fight”
The Jihadists have staked much of their Political and religious credibility on knocking us out of Iraq. They have made it a major battleground… and thus they HAVE to fight… they are on desperate ground.

It’s been proven over and over that the “Fly By Media” reports 2nd and 3rd hand stories.
Invest in defeat.

Excellent Vent, Michelle,
I know there has been a number of home videos, picture essays, and documentaries brought back already, but none seem to make it to the American public.
Maybe, this time, it will……… starting on HotAir…

This gentleman needs to tell this succinct assessment of our times to the Fox viewers and others. He knows how to explain a complex issue in simple terms.
CNN doesn’t leave the hotel and “don’t trust the media to tell this story, at this time” – tragic state of our media…

hey guys. this is jummy and i’m in dc with the gathering of the eagles. i had to run back to the hotel to pick up some things i forgot, but i figured i’d send in a quick update.
i arrived on the scene at the vietnam veterans’ memorial at 7:30. there were at least 2000 veterans there for the gathering. by the time i left at 9:30, there were at least 10,000 and growing with a couple hundred civilian supporters filling out.
if you’re on the eastern seaboard, get in a car and get here. the business doesn’t begin for another couple hours and it’s looking like it’ll be an easy win for our side.
the answer goons have under a thousand people hanging out. saw the sheehan bus. no sheehan yet. must be inside being fanned with palm fronds or something.
because the answer turnout is looking so pathetic, they turned their pa speakers (it’s a big rig) towards the vientam memorial, where the noise was a bit more than a little disturbing. vindictivness. pettiness.
when i checked in to the hotel last night a lady strodde up to the reception desk right beside me and the first words from her mouth – before “good evening” or a simple “hi” – were “i’m here to protest the war and i have a room here”. as if it were delivering some sort of valued credential. as if the city just opened up so she could oppose security and democracy in iraq.
i spoke briefly with phil keever, author of 128 days in iraq, and if my batteries are worth anything and i manage to have the camera recording when i intend it to, i’ll have some video up tomorrow which i’ll link here.

Bless the hearts of all GoE today. Standing up for protecting the last monuments to our patriots’ sacrifice of life. Bless the families of all of them, as well as their families and loved ones serving now. It is so moving to see this now, 32 years later, fighting, basically, the same war we saw then.
Love and Hugs!
