Video: Rosie dismisses KSM, says he is not “be all, end all” of terrorism Update: Rosie defends KSM; robbed of his “humanity”

posted at 11:56 am on March 15, 2007 by Ian

UPDATE: Rosie defends KSM:

In the segment prior to what we originally posted, Rosie defended Khalid Shaikh Mohammed’s “humanity”, remarking terrorists aren’t treated like “humans” but instead “treated like animals.” O’Donnell also raised a picture of KSM and commented he “doesn’t look very healthy after three years in captivity.” Note to Rosie: that picture was taken when he was captured 4 years ago in March 2003. Moreover, Rosie does not mention KSM’s terrorist ties and blood relation to Ramzi Yousef.

Our friend Debbie Schlussel has more on what Rosie said on today’s “The View.”

Continuing, Rosie said Khalid Shaikh Mohammed only admitted his part in 9/11 and other terrorist conspiracies after a “hood [was put] on his head” and he was “beaten to death.” Which is odd, because he’s still alive. And Rosie submits herself to hanging upside down — is her psychiatrist torturing her? KSM planned assassination attacks on President Clinton and Carter, many other attacks all over the world, and just recently confessed to beheading WSJ reporter Daniel Pearl.

Transcript:

ROSIE O’DONNELL, “THE VIEW” HOST: “But I just think, this man for whatever he did or didn’t do, he is not the be all, end all of terrorism in America. And our government has not found the answer in this one way [unintelligible].”

KSM planned 9-11 from stem to stern, had a hand in Jose Padilla’s planned dirty bomb attack, planned Operation Bojinka and more than two dozen other attacks worldwide. The man has buckets of innocent blood on his hands, and if he hadn’t been caught he would have pulled some off and kept planning more. Just what does it take to be the “be all, end all of terrorism,” Rosie?

You know she probably feels sympathy for the guy because she can relate to how nightamrish it is for him to shave/wax – you know – she most likely has the same problem. (Yeah, I went there.) But it’s not a bad idea; waxing the hair off these dudes to get information @ Gitmo. It heals in about a week after the first time. Hurts like heck but the worst part is the anticipation of pain. Women do it all the time. Not bad at all…

How do we get Rosie taken off the air?

georgej on March 15, 2007 at 4:27 PM

The soldier is out on patrol in Afghanistan, walking through an apparently abandoned village. Suddenly, a group of Islamists jump out with AK-47′s, RPG’s, yelling “Allah akbar” or some such. Being well trained, the soldier lowers his gun and says “Your have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney and to request one prior to any questioning. Should you not be able to afford an attorney, one will be provided for you subject to your approval at no cost. Should you give up this right, anything you say may be used against you in a court of law in the United States. Do you understand these rights as I’ve explained them to you? If so, do you voluntarily give up your right to remain silent? Here is a form for you to sign confirming your decision. Colonel, can you come here to notarize this form?”

Come on, these are non-uniformed military combatants! In any other war (every other war) they would have been found guilty of being spies (non-uniformed, dressed as civilians, and active in armed combat) and HUNG right there in the field! As it should be!

stonemeister on March 15, 2007 at 4:36 PM

So picture Rosie with hair on her chest, a couple days of beard growth… Now look at the KSM. Need I say more?

maintenanceman on March 15, 2007 at 4:36 PM

Bryan mentioned on another post that name calling really needs to be toned down by both sides.

JohnnyD on March 15, 2007 at 12:55 PM

It suffices to just call her Rosie.

My buddy Fred calls them the “seals” (as in SeaWorld, NOT as in Navy). They’ll clap at anything you say, so long as you keep throwing fish at them.

Kid from Brooklyn on March 15, 2007 at 4:02 PM

Most don’t even know who KSM is and agree with her…

But the strangest/stupidest/funniest of today, or in a long time is:

and he was “beaten to death.”

If only it would hurt…if only…

Entelechy on March 15, 2007 at 4:38 PM

Well,
I am no Fan of Radical Islam, don’t get me wrong…
But, if they have their way, Rosie will be in a Burqua.
I’m just saying….

No she would be dead; Homosexuality is a no-no in radical Islam.

Kathywms on March 15, 2007 at 2:10 PM

Rosie stoned to death AND in a burlap sack?

I, for one, welcome our new Islamic Overlords.

Misha I on March 15, 2007 at 4:43 PM

Hmmm… its Thursday already? I see the View is after their weekly viewership spike.

Hey Rosie… if Jihadists are so cute and cuddly why don’t you and your friend go live with them in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia?

Think of it as a way of getting away from the radical christians who are ‘just as bad’…. eh?

CrazyFool on March 15, 2007 at 5:01 PM

georgej on March 15, 2007 at 4:27 PM

Let her keep spewing crap like this. Her act will get tired – as will her groveling over our enemies.

thirteen28 on March 15, 2007 at 5:33 PM

And again, it’s not that I disagree with her… it’s that she’s a straight retard. She literally sounds like a child who is trying to repeat what her liberal parents told her, but not making any sense.

Probably should start picking out your rehab center ;)

wytammic on March 15, 2007 at 5:55 PM

Hey Rosie, I can think of 3,000 people who had their humanity stolen from them on 9/11. How about a few hundred in Spain on 3/11. The list goes on. The only purpose KSM serves at this point is to pump more info out of him. Once he is dry, dump him in a pit with wild, hungry boars. After the pigs have eaten, bury them all together.

Mallard T. Drake on March 15, 2007 at 6:03 PM

I am so thankful that Rosie O’Donnell has a national platform on The View to shout her views and I pray that she stays there for years and years because nobody, but nobody, makes the liberals look like terrorist-coddling haters of America more than her. She’s an embarassment to the Left when she advocates for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Tantor on March 15, 2007 at 6:31 PM

Would Rosie and her audience comprehend this?

Entelechy on March 15, 2007 at 6:44 PM

If I ever have a daughter, I hope she grows up to be as polite, smart, and tough, as Elizabeth.

USA, all the way!

ValhallaMike on March 15, 2007 at 7:00 PM

Heh. The guest-host chick says the Patriot Act makes us hated around the world. Elizabeth replies that she doesn’t care if we are hated, and the guest-host chick reponds that 9-11 happened because we are hated.
I think if guest-host chick checks her dates, she might notice 9-11 happened before the Patriot Act and even (crazily enough) before the War on Terror and Gitmo. That might lead some people to surmise there is something else that makes “the world” hate us. But guest-host chick, Rosie, and Joy are just too smart for that kind of thinking.

MayBee on March 15, 2007 at 7:23 PM

Roise O’Donnell feel that the terrorist Khaled Sheik Mohammed still is erntitled to his “humanity”. I wonder if she would think the same thing about Adolf Eichmann, Julius Streicher, Reinhard Heydrich, Jurgen Stroop and the rest of the Hitler gang.

Hilts on March 15, 2007 at 7:31 PM

Rosie’s was one long leftist rant. She got dates wrong, at one point actually said “93″ instead of “2003.” She doesn’t recognize the original picture when he was captured. She sees the US and especially the military at Gitmo as the Great Satan. She is horribly underinformed. But to cover for that, she is loud. She has affirmative hand and face gestures that confirm (to herself) she is the authority on that which she speaks. It’s really nice that she feels so much compassion for the terrorists (note she uses hand gesture quotes when she uses the word terrorist many times), but they would feel none for her were she in their sites. I think Elizabeth is just not enough on that show to be the one lone conservative voice. She’s a token “conservative” and if Debbie is right in what she says Elizabeth supports, then she is no real conservative at all. Have Ann Coulter and Rosie ever debated?

Glynn on March 15, 2007 at 7:56 PM

There must be a sizeable demographic of fat, unemployed, angry, ignorant lesbians that ABC is trying to attract. What other reason could there be for O’Donnell’s tenure?

repvoter on March 15, 2007 at 8:00 PM

The pics of Rosie reminded me it was Eat An Animal for PETA day. I had roast pork for dinner with a nice Riesling.

Faith1 on March 15, 2007 at 8:29 PM

We might ask her heftiness, does labeling them as “Marines” make them less human? I ask because I never heard her defend the Marines over Haditha or declare them innocent until proven guilty.

It is my deepest hope that once terrorists start their attacks here, thanks to the lefty moonbats, they hit her first.

LewWaters on March 15, 2007 at 8:47 PM

The Views needs to drop Rosie ‘Ching Chong’ O’Donnell or it needs to be pulled from the air. Enough of this Terrorist sympathizing woman already!

georgej on March 15, 2007 at 4:27 PM

We don’t want her off the air. We want her to spew her lies, and be laughed at.

She is one of the spokespeople for the left. Notice how the leftist trolls hide when she is higlighted. They are embarrassed at her rants. But they cannot hide the fact that they follow her logic, and sign onto her political stance. They think she is great…and that is great for us.

She represents the democratic party.

Rosie O’Donnell is off the wall. “The View” should be viewed as nuts. Barbara Walers should be held in contempt for putting her name to it.

Phil Byler on March 15, 2007 at 10:09 PM

wonk eye.

bloggless on March 15, 2007 at 10:24 PM

Rosie is now endorsing conspiracy theories about 9/11. If only she’d have the chutzpah to say THOSE on “The View.”

Debbie Schlussel on March 15, 2007 at 10:59 PM

So are you saying KSM is the “be all, end all of terrorism?”
Because if so that means the war on terror is over.
JaHerer22 on March 15, 2007 at 12:01 PM

You’re kidding, right? Are you really so ignorant that you’d believe that, or are you just so partisan you don’t give a shit?

Debbie, Rosie is an ignorant, uneducated loudmouth that has no idea how the real world works. She’ll say anything to offend and shock. It’s all about ratings to her and she has no comprehension of what her statements really mean.

BacaDog on March 15, 2007 at 11:15 PM

Oh, poor, misunderstood KSM! Wah-wah-wah! Tell ya what, Rosie – let’s play a game: Let’s put you and KSM alone in a room with nothing but a knife and a Koran. Given everything the guy has had to say, I wonder which of you would walk out of there alive and kicking?

Just to recoup: Rosie, a resident of NYC (metro area somewhere), is using her TV airtime to counsel an audience made up of many NYorkers that terrorists did not commit the war crime of ramming planes into the World Trade Center. She is telling them to ignore the evidence of their own eyes. Was she actually in NYC that awful day? Or off somewhere safe?
What a perverse world she perceives. New Yorkers remain on the #1 list of places to destroy by Al-Queda and the supremely arrogant Rosie is informing the targets to pretend there is no external threat. Therefore: No external threat, no need to man the defenses. End Result: more New Yorkers will die. Brilliant and viciously pro-death on Rosie’s part. And she claims she “cares” about people.
Barbara Walters is weak, a has-been, easily drowned out by Rosie who is dominating the show. Foolish Barbara will haplessly watch the ignorant but loud-mouthed Rosie pontificate idiocy that will disgust viewers, one by one, driving them away from the View. (IMHO, good riddence.)

naliaka on March 16, 2007 at 10:09 AM

Poor Rosie, it just isn’t the same without the laugh track!

Wander on March 16, 2007 at 10:13 AM

I don’t know what’s more disheartening about the current state of political awareness in this country — Rosie O’Donnell being able to spout her nutter ideology in a morning primetime spot with absolutely no one there to counterbalance her (the cute little Republican lady doesn’t count because she’s too timid), or the fact that audience goes absolutely ga-ga with delite every time the Rosie Ogre flaps her gums.

Mindcrime on March 16, 2007 at 10:30 AM

Rosie should have all of those in captivity over for dinner and then they can all hang together!

Oh sorry! There’s a fat pig inside, so they can’t enter her home!

Better plan a new menu.

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on March 16, 2007 at 10:42 AM

The thing that creeps me out most about Rosie is that when she “smiles,” it never, ever reaches her eyes. You know what I mean? It’s like there is no soul in there. Of course, her latest rants continue to support that theory, but all-in-all she is just creepy and smarmy.

lan astaslem on March 16, 2007 at 11:15 AM

Drudge has a link to this story today:

O’Donnell, currently a co-host of “The View,” might be looking to return to a solo slot, possibly at Telepictures — the studio where her previous talker was produced. But her contract with ABC reportedly mandates that she must negotiate with the network’s Walt Disney Co. parent before doing so.

Interesting timing of this announcement. Hopefully ABC/Disney will have no trouble encouraging Rosie to follow her dreams elsewhere.

lan astaslem on March 16, 2007 at 11:21 AM

Did rod’spiral into the stupid zone begin with the Tom Selleck attack? Her choice to be on the path of the Dark side has truly consumed her.

allie on March 16, 2007 at 11:27 AM

What Rosie and other libs don’t realize is that they will be among the first to have their heads sawn off if the Islamofacists get power over this country.

Stupid bint.

It boggles the mind that people used to call this deranged harpy “The Queen of Nice”. Talk about your downward spirals.

ReubenJCogburn on March 16, 2007 at 11:59 AM

Other than slingshotting kooshes into the audience, I never thought of her as the ‘Queen of Nice’.

allie on March 16, 2007 at 12:04 PM

So, KSM has lost his humanity. I’m sure that family and friends, of the three thousand murdered, are sympathetic of his feelings. Much more than that scum is of said people. How dare she defend that waste of skin with truck loads of blood on his hands.
Today I am watching the spiew. Not for it’s entertainment value, but to see just who is sponsoring a pro-terrorist show. I’m sure that the sponsors, and ABC, would appreciate hearing from a number of people about what they are doing.
Cindi Lauper, I’m sure, will set them straight on their ways if thinking today. (gag me with a payloader)

oakpack on March 16, 2007 at 12:12 PM

Just what does it take to be the “be all, end all of terrorism,” Rosie?

A Democrat in the White House, that’s what. If that happens, *POOF* all of the terrorism would cease, just like under Bill Clinton.

mojojojo on March 16, 2007 at 3:55 PM

Your daily Rosie.

Ahhhh, like a daily enema.

WriterMom on March 16, 2007 at 4:01 PM

The wouldn’t allow any reporters there and he doesn’t have a lawyer

Rosie’s biggest complaint is that he didn’t have access to a reporter? My God, this woman is insane!

The world according to Rosie: You have the right to a reporter and have a reporter present during questioning. You have the right to remain anonymous. If you give up the right to remain anonymous, any name you give may be used against you in the New York Times.

You got that right. Rosie and the rest of the loony left still think of terrorism as some type of out of control civil disobedience or violent protest and want to treat those who commit acts of terrorism as simply common criminals.

I saw this when Sara Jane Olsen, AKA Kathleen Soliah, was finally captured here in Minnesota.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Soliah
She was a member of the SLA terrorist group of the 70′s whose members killed people and planted bombs under police cars, yet a lot of people here, including several Democratic members of our state legislature, wanted her to be forgiven for “mistakes she made as a young woman” if I remember correctly the excuses they made for her. She was a member of a terrorist group, and admitted to killing a woman and planting pipe bombs, yet some Democrats called her a misguided youth!

That’s the kind of mindset we’re dealing with here. The left thinks that terrorists are actually heroes and revolutionaries and they IDOLIZE them. That kind of thinking is almost as dangerous as the terrorist themselves.

RedinBlueCounty on March 16, 2007 at 5:14 PM
