Video: Matt Lauer, terrorism expert
posted at 8:41 pm on March 15, 2007 by Ian
Rosie O wasn’t the first to leap to Khalid Sheik Mohammed’s defense. NBC morning anchor and now terrorism expert Matt Lauer beat her to it on this morning’s “Today” show, citing being “subjected to waterboarding” or “torture” will make you “spew out all kinds of locations.”
LAUER: How credible is this laundry list of targets? If you’re being subjected to waterboarding or torture, won’t you just spew out all kinds of locations to make it stop?
Bryan adds: The ignorance of MSM figures just never stops. We already knew much of what KSM confessed, and suspected the rest, before the recent confession was released. But evidently Lauer and Rosie would rather pour cold water on evidence that KSM is a terrorist monster than give our own troops or the Bush administration so much as an inch of credit on the war.

Possibly, Matt. That’s why you do the torture, check out the info, and then do it again and again until you get the facts.
I don’t get the outrage about torture. If it’s a choice between my family’s safety and some thug having his fingernails ripped out, I opt for the latter.

I remember that interview Ian. It irritates me how much Lauer lady seems to be invading Bush’s personal space. Not to mention just plain rude. I can’t stand that fa er, I mean girly man.
wytammic on March 15, 2007 at 8:46 PM
Didn’t Fox news actually waterboard a dude? If I remember correctly it amounted to scarring you into thinking your drowning. Now, KSM sawed off Daniel Pearl’s head. I think having the crap scarred out of you isn’t as bad a thing as having your head sawed off.

My nephew spent two years at Gitmo (on the right side)interrogating. He never saw any torture. The waterboarding (longest was 4 minutes) was saved for the real hard asses, and most of them had very little info. The leaders sang like birds. The “tough” guys were little soldiers who were following orders so they stood tough. The leaders knew better. He said the leaders sold out within minutes, and kept giving because they learned that if they gave a little valuable info at a time they would be treated well and kept safe. Sent home and they would be killed. Most that were interrogated were shocked about how civil and nice the questioning was, and were grateful. They had a different idea on how interrogation was handled.
Every bit of valuable info was double and cross checked for accuracy, and acted upon. More arrests, and attacks were carried out from the info than we may ever know.

There are only two subjects that Matt Lauer is an expert on:
1. Being a dimwitted liberal media stereotype.
2. What Matt Lauer looks like in the mirror.
ReubenJCogburn on March 15, 2007 at 9:35 PM
Ok, fine Matt………Bush is done, Gonzalez is out, Cheney is looking over his portfolio…..let’s go ahead and just let KSM go. We can drop him off on the red carpet for the Academy Awards. He will be the darling of the party.

Let’s say it: Lauer is a girlie boy who does not know his
a– from a hole in the ground.

Bryan’s right, and this is why I was fuming during my post in the Rosie thread… This isn’t “new” information at all, and ABC’s own Brian Ross confirmed that waterboarding DID WORK ON KSM AND PREVENTED ATTACKS!

Eff you Rosie and Eff you Matt you anti-American enemy aiding bastards.

Yes ! ! Steve Harrigan (SP) went through the WB process.
I think Hot Air posted it. . . .

The Movie “Star Chamber” dealt with misfits the
same way KSM would deal with Lauer, He’s ( Lauer) just
tooo self absorbed to see it. Dancing with the devil
Matt, Rosie and the rest will get us another attack.
What a bunch of blame America First dips–ts.
Texyank on March 16, 2007 at 12:41 AM
The Clinton administrations refusal to take the terrorists seriously is exactly what led up to 9/11. The lesson that we all should have taken away from that horrible attack is that another attack must be prevented by any and all means.
I support everything and anything that our military and intelligence agencies believes they must do to keep America safe from terrorist attack and that includes waterboarding and the use of pork products.
The fact that the Democrats don’t understand this just means they are not fit to lead this country and that includes those Democrats who have an R after their names.

The male version of Katie Couric… or, wait, Katie Couric is the female version of Matt Lauer… eh, whatever, they’re both way over rated and they’re both way ignorant talking heads.
And I think Matthew should just shave his damn head and get it over with. In a few years when he’s old and his journalist career is over, he can play Lex Luther in Superman IX.
SilverStar830 on March 16, 2007 at 12:51 AM
Um…yeah. Well, I don’t think old Khalid was being water boarded when he ran his pie hole at the freakin’ hearing.
flipflop on March 16, 2007 at 12:57 AM
We already knew he was a part of many terrorist plots; this isn’t really breaking news. And to take him at his word wouldn’t be the smartest thing to do either.
Nonfactor on March 16, 2007 at 2:58 AM
It seems to me that showing that KSM confessed to things that were independently verified would refute those who claim he was just saying anything under duress.
I probably could have said that better, but I hope you get the point.
mikeyboss on March 16, 2007 at 3:25 AM
Can anyone stand him or trust him?
I can’t. He has always been a phony to me.
Highrise on March 16, 2007 at 4:11 AM
Well, let me join the chorus: Matt Lauer has fecal matter for brains. About all Lauer was good at was kissing Katie fat butt. And with her gone, he good for nothing.
georgej on March 16, 2007 at 4:53 AM
Why is it that we had to lose so many good people and are stuck with A-holes like Lauer and Colmes… its sickening
Viper1 on March 16, 2007 at 7:04 AM
Matt Lauer is a faggot! Can I still say that these days?
rayvet on March 16, 2007 at 7:50 AM
No, but apparently Silky Pony is just fine!
Darksean on March 16, 2007 at 8:32 AM
Locations like WHERE, Matt?
Like the location of the rest of your hair, perhaps.
ASShat.
seejanemom on March 16, 2007 at 8:33 AM
Just where and how did a two-bit, “C” average journalist major like Laur get such deep insight into this issue. These talking heads need to stick to their news readings and stop confusing the public with their warped musings and convoluted reasoning.
rplat on March 16, 2007 at 8:49 AM
I hate to point this out, but perhaps you just revealed what our government doesn’t want the terrorists to know?
csdeven on March 16, 2007 at 9:01 AM
LOL. Guess Katie did not like it much!
Wade on March 16, 2007 at 10:33 AM
Matt, you have an extra room at the house? If so why don’t you allow KSM to shack up at your place for a while. Just till Rosie gets a bedroom fixed for him of course.
SPIFF1669 on March 16, 2007 at 10:50 AM
Matt is an idiot’s guide to be an idiot. The only reason he is on network news shows; is because his face and tone fits their non-threatening mold. Even when he asks a question, he sounds like an empty suit.
