Rosie O’Donnell, 9/11 Truther

posted at 9:47 pm on March 15, 2007 by Ian

Rosie O’Donnell isn’t just a terrorist apologist, she’s also a 9/11 Truther. Thanks to a tip from Howie at The Jawa Report who emailed this blog post Rosie wrote this afternoon. Rosie lays out all the proof in one of her unintelligible posts where incomplete sentences and nonsense have free reign:

• The fires in WTC 7 were not evenly distributed, so a perfect collapse was impossible.
• Silverstein said to the fire department commander “the smartest thing to do is pull it.”
• Firefighters withdrawing from the area stated the building was going to “blow up”.
• The roof of WTC 7 visibly crumbled and the building collapsed perfectly into its footprint.
• Molten steel and partially evaporated steel members were found in the debris.

Well now that Rosie lays it out — in bullet-point form too — I’m completely convinced Der Führer President Bush was behind not only the destruction of WTC 7, but all of the so-called terrorist attacks that occurred on 9/11.

Is she actually implicating FDNY in the destruction of WTC 7, or in the coverup of its destruction?

Too many Rosie posts today. A sane mind can only handle one a day.

Here is another list of ‘experts‘ I would like to introduce Rosie to:

This ‘telephone’ has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us.”
Western Union internal memo, 1876.

“Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.”
Lord Kelvin, president , Royal Society, 1895

“Everything that can be invented has been invented.”
Charles H. Duell, Commissioner, US Office of Patents, 1899

“I must confess that my imagination, in spite even of spurring, refuses to see any sort of submarine doing anything but suffocating its crew and floundering at sea.”
H.G. Wells, 1901.

“The actual building of roads devoted to motor cars is not for the near future, in spite of many rumors to that effect.”
Source: Harpers Weekly, August 2, 1902

At the end of this century we can add Al Gore to the list also.

Why do we even CARE what she says?

Just because she has the ears of the people that watches that atrocious show… she means nothing in the long run.

I could have gone to bed happier not knowing how much MORE kooky she is.

• The roof of WTC 7 visibly crumbled and the building collapsed perfectly into its footprint.

That is called gravity. There is no basis for assuming a building is going to fly sideways. I am just shocked by this comment. I expected gravity is something Rosie would be well aware of since she generates so much of it.

ill do it again, without all the f words

she doesnt understand WTC 7 took a critical hit on its transfer trusses. she doesnt understand a huge part of the south face was literally scooped out:
http://www.debunking911.com/WTC7.htm

she doesnt understand the fire in the building, and all the smoke pouring out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHdt7wRQtaY

she doesnt understand that ‘pull’ isnt a demolition term, and that firefighters repeatedly used the pull and its multiple tense forms to describe the ending of operations around wtc 7 in their testimony with the NYT.

as for her molten steel claims. the details are iffy, and even so…iron can be oxidized and burned
http://www.debunking911.com/ironburns.htm

im also sure she thinks the twin towers turned to dust but it was the four inch concrete slabs and insulation all inside the building that was pulverized.

Gee, last time I looked it takes eight years to get a masters in structural engineering. Rosie is former stand up comic turned gossip monger. Her popularity gives creedence to the P.T. Barnum quote “There’s a sucker born every minute”. The truther theory can be debunked easily by comparing the film footage of the WTC collapse to a controlled demolition implosion. Point one the crux of force is sustained on the bottom floors. Point two even though the term implosion is used debis and external force are highly visible throughout the elasped time from start to finish. I have worked in the construction industry , in various capcities including demolition, for thirtyfive years, and have earned many credits toward an engineering degree. The WTC was not designed to withstand sustained intense tempratures caused by the burning of jet fuel, which is one of the purest if not the purest burning fuels this side of liquid oxogen (LOX). Ya Rosie the beam thingy’s melted and the buildings go boom.

sonnyspats1 on March 15, 2007 at 10:59 PM

As a matter of fact, the towers did NOT collapse “perfectly into their footprints”.

http://www.implosionworld.com/wtc.htm

And someone please tell me what the hell kind of demolition charge can “melt steel”. Demolition charges are low-heat, high-impact. The hell does she think dropped the Stardust this week, thermite?

Crazy Rosie was telling Elizabeth to watch some documentary on Guantanamo. What was it?

Does her theory say Bin Laden has anything to do with the towers because if it does that implicates Clinton for not taking care of Bin Laden when he had the chance?

Drtuddle on March 15, 2007 at 11:31 PM

Okay, here’s the chain of events…. The MSM (or at least cable news channels, and probably the NY Post) “forcing” Rosie to respond on the View (which is why she laid out this post in the first place, that way she can act like “America” made her talk about it on TV, when she just meant for it to be on her personal blog).

This will start a whole controversy that will errupt in to the entire MSM, where misinformation and distortion will run wild and rarely will you hear debunking of each every “point” made by Truthers, even though they’re readily available. (Start with “Screw Loose Change: Not Freakin’ Again Edition”). You see, most people are headline reader types, which has lead to the majority of our problems in recent years… but it’s much easier to “ask questions” in just a few words that make things seem mysterious, but it takes much more time to explain and debunk each and every point… particularly when the points are lies but the MSM will actually report them as legitimate “questions”, and the vast majority of people aren’t going to spend hours researching to see if what they’re hearing is true.. they’re going to assume that no one could get away with flat out lying, even though that is in fact what the Truthers do CONSTANTLY.

Hold on tight folks, we’re in for a bumpy ride. If this does go off the way I’m anticipating… expect roughly half of the country to soon “not buy the official story” (up from like 1/3 at last check)… Expect marches by millions of Truthers in Washington… Expect them to unload on their Democrat allies in Washington who they think are part of the Illuminati and protecting Bush and all of his skull and bones satanist pals who have mock human sacrifices at the Bohemian Grove (yes, they really believe that).

Expect a few extreme lefy congresspeople and senators to “ask the questions” too (don’t be surprised, it’s already been done by at least McKinney and Howard Dean, and I think others). From there, who knows where it will go.

While you wait to see it unfold, arm yourself:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3214024953129565561&q=screw+loose+change

Seriously, be ready for people you know to buy in to this crap… there’s something about us that makes us want to believe these conspiracy theories because it’s exciting and makes real life like a movie, and not as boring as it really is, and to be one of “the few” who’s “in the know” makes people feel special. It’s about a feeling of self-importance. We all have it to some extent, some are just better at keeping it in check when we come to a fork in the road in which one path turns us in to raving lunatics and the other keeps us pretty much the same.

RightWinged, it’ll never happen, there’s no way 50% are so consumed with rabid foaming hate that they’d buy that.

Bad Candy on March 15, 2007 at 11:44 PM

It’s not the hate that will lead them there Bad Candy, as I said it’s a pyshological self-importance thing. Some people think it’s a way to deal with a type of non-direct PTSD. Millions are affected by a type of PTSD even though they didn’t actually witness 9/11 first hand… but they saw it on their TVs for weeks and months, and on the internet still today, and didn’t know how to comprehend an attack on our own soil.

I stand by that I believe 50% (give or take) will “question the official story” (if the events unfold as I guessed), but not becasue they hate… The haters are roughly 30% (the HuffPo/Kos/Greenwalk type crowd) of the country, and not even all of them are Truthers. Probably only half of them are Truthers. The “real” Truthers aren’t necessarily partisan, they believe “they’re all in on it” (Dems, Republicans, back for centuries… Free Masons, Knights Templar). Those are the “Truthers” leading the charge that “ask the questions” coupled with fast moving videos with eery music that suck people in (I myself watched one of these videos in the Truther infancy [must have been in 2002 or something]… before that term was around and before knowledge of 9/11 conspiracy theories was common, and the video seemed compelling and seemed to raise interesting questions… Until I decided I better be sure and see if there was any debunking information before I started passing anything along to friends and family… Most people won’t do that research though, and that’s the scary part. They’ll get a link from a friend to watch Loose Change, and then they’ll send it out, etc. etc.)

This has already been going on, but once Rosie sparks a new MSM media frenzy over conspiracy theories it will be mainstreamed and set off a huge domino effect. Millions of lazy idiot Americans will be passing these stupid videos on to their lazy idiot friends and we simply don’t have the power to change their minds because they have a desire to believe these things, to believe in something bigger than themselves.

RightWinged on March 16, 2007 at 12:03 AM

What’s weird about the Truthers is that none of them will ever explain to me why Osama and KSM admit doing it when they had to know they would be attacked by our armed forces for admitting such. Do the Truthers suggest that Al Qaida is willing to be killed in order to keep Bush’s secret?

VinceP1974 on March 16, 2007 at 12:04 AM

Do the Truthers suggest that Al Qaida is willing to be killed in order to keep Bush’s secret?

No, they suggest AQ is just a CIA front group. I’m so bored with debunking 9/11 myths. Its too easy and not challenging. but no truther will ever believe anything you tell them; but they sop up everything from poorly produced movies with spooky music.

lorien1973 on March 16, 2007 at 12:06 AM

VinceP1974–yes, many of them believe that al qaida is a total Bush plot. See, the way it works is Bush wants to crush all our liberties and rule like a king, so he invented terrorism, I guess–and is foisting off them as the “emergency” requiring dictatorial powers, thus leading to the Fourth Reich, gas camps, etc.

The simple idea that, you know, if Bush could conceivably pull off something like that, we’d not be in a quagmire in Iraq seems to have escaped their simple minds.

I agree and disagree; the real question is, why does ABC continue to give her a platform? Personally, I’m at the point I can’t laugh it off anymore. I have a friend who was fired from her media job after the bosses found and “were troubled by” her “extremist” Christian (i.e., pro-life) views on her blog. There’s the door, buh-bye.

I’m no psychologist, but I admit I’m fascinated with Rosie. Take some formerly closeted chick with apparent self-hatred issues, reward her with massive success, and then surround her with “Yes” people who never question the crap that comes out of her mouth. I think there’s a lot to learn by exploring the bizarre symbiotic relationship she has with the millions of viewers to whose retardation she contributes. I used to love intelligent conversation, but now I love winning elections more.

Only 1 question is necessary in debunking these Bush bombed the WTC retards. “What were the planes for?” No Really, What were the planes for then? Bush could have blown up the WTC without any planes. I mean why bother making it so elaborate when you could have just planted some explosives and blamed whomever anyhow?

RobertCSampson on March 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM

I appreciate Rosie because she’s just saying what everyone on the left believes – correction: wants to believe. Because if they actually believed that their government did this then they would be too afraid to speak out in public about it and – if they had a modicum of intelligence – they would pack their bags and head for Canada or somewhere they could get asylum. Wouldn’t it be supremely stupid, (if this were even a viable theory,) to stay in a country where the government was out to KILL you? It’s like I tell my goofball friends who “love” Noam Chomsky; if he hates capitalism and he hates the US – why is he here selling books? Does that make any sense to you?

This is the modern Democratic party. When Moveon.org say they own you (the generic you), they prove it by intimidating your people to pull out of a debate. Rosie is revered by the Hollywood left, and if you don’t think they influence, look at where the first high profile fund raisers were held. And the room is full of Rosies, Arkin’s, Baldwin’s, Penn’s, etc., etc. They believe this and the Democratic leaders do not distance themeselves. You saying you don’t believe, means very little, you support the leaders that support these wackos. You can’t have a “get out of the party” card for saying Rosie is a whack job. She, and the movers that are pushing your party, accept and embrace her.
You and many others are caught between the proverbial rock and hard place. You are afraid to walk away from a party that you once knew and embraced, yet you can’t be associated with the Democrats and be taken seriously.
As one of your illustrious leaders used to say “I feel your pain”.

…We oughta out Truthers, expose the vermin for who they are.

But… Rosie’s already out…

OH! Wait! I get it now!

Why do I think of this MIB quote every time I hear about 9/11 conspiracy theories…

A person is smart, people are dumb panicky dangerous animals.

I agree and disagree; the real question is, why does ABC continue to give her a platform?

saint kansas on March 16, 2007 at 9:25 AM

ABC gives her a platform because we pay attention and react. If the reaction was a big yawn, ABC would soon give her the “Buh-Bye! There’s the door.”

We like Ann Coulter because she gets under the skin of Liberals. Libs love Rosie because she gets under the skin of those in the right.

With the leftie dominance of the media, we will never win a battle with the likes of Rosie because the MSM is on her side every time! We end up just looking like defensive bigots to them. (as in “Leave the fat lesbian alone you bigots!” )

I will not abandon my principles just because some loons took over the Democratic party. At least I’ve got Zell and Joe!
Suffice it to say I see where you’re coming from, and I will be here to let you know we aren’t all idiots.

So

uthernDem on March 16, 2007 at 3:58 PM

Just the ones who put up with this nonsense. Which leaders have condemned Rosie, Gere, Baldwin, Penn, etc.?

right2bright on March 16, 2007 at 8:45 PM

Gregor, got a problem? You seem to be at odds with the HA staff quite a bit…

Anyway, my guess is use of slurs is what set off the mods. I could be wrong and if I violated policy, my apologies, I signed up during the first open signup, and haven’t bothered to examine the ruleboard since.

Bad Candy on March 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM

No, not really too much. That comment wasn’t directed at you in any way. It was a little sarcasm related to the banning of another member last week for making similar comments. I wasn’t suggesting that you should be banned and I have absolutely no problem with your comment. I had argued that the previous poster should NOT have been banned.

I simply pointed out that there are remarkable similarities to what that member had said about Muslims, to what members say about other religions or beliefs every day without so much as a mention, including Christians, Mormons, truthers, NAU believers, Rosie, Hillary, and liberals in general. I’m just not sure of the difference, other than Allah seems to have some personal reaction whenever anyone speaks negatively toward Muslims or homosexuals. Meanwhile, he seems to enjoy negative comments toward Christians, truthers, and NAU believers. So to me, it’s more a personal issue than a moral issue with Allah.

With that said, this post was by Ian and was in no way directed at Ian. Again, it was sarcasm directed toward the previous banning for using the word “hate.” While I didn’t agree with the way the member wrote the comment, I didn’t feel it was excessive or that it broke the terms of use.

But that’s not my call. The HotAir staff has the right to make that call as I do on my own blog. We are obviously guests here, but that doesn’t mean we must always agree.

Other than the occasional issue I have with attacks on Christians and Tancredo, as well as the customary over-reaction to any negativity toward homosexuality, I think Allah does a fantastic job and I’ve actually defended him several times against some who ask for his firing.

VinceP1974: “What’s weird about the Truthers is that none of them will ever explain to me why Osama and KSM admit doing it when they had to know they would be attacked by our armed forces for admitting such. Do the Truthers suggest that Al Qaida is willing to be killed in order to keep Bush’s secret?”

Vince, Vince, Vince. Osama & Khalid are part of the conspiracy, CIA agents ordered by Bush to take the blame so that it would draw attention away from Bush who ordered Karl Rove to mastermind the whole thing. It’s really all so very easy to explain if you’re completely insane.
