Video: Apple’s newest product
posted at 9:56 pm on March 14, 2007 by Allahpundit
The skit writes itself once the name of the product is unveiled but even so, it’s entertaining.
As for the “things” Bush keeps putting into it, a better analogy would be that he’s stacking them against the base to keep the structure from tipping over.

You were expecting a good analogy?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA
Love MadTV.
V5 on March 14, 2007 at 10:10 PM
Sometimes, I wonder if it’s even worth reading or tinking about anymore.
I like cupcakes.
Ringmaster on March 14, 2007 at 10:15 PM
Well, that was certainly worth watching. Not.
However the ultra-hip and carefully racially-mixed audience seemed sort of apt – notice how sensitive yet ineffectual they were? Having declared that the “iRack” was suffering and threatening to collapse, their response was not to try to fix it, but to try to flee.
bofh on March 14, 2007 at 10:23 PM
haha This was from past Saturday’s show…old…did Ace tip you off to this?
And yeah, it was the same old left talking points, trying to be humorous.
The funniest part was the beginning…

Stupid dog.
CyberCipher on March 14, 2007 at 10:30 PM
As obnoxious as was the politics behind it, they did a fantastic job with it.
tikvah on March 14, 2007 at 10:31 PM
That was great.
Ian on March 14, 2007 at 10:33 PM
Sorry, not my cup of tea………
I think it is a disgrace how this war has been so politicized, lied about, and the MSM has put a lid on ANY good news, that this “humor” and the “talking points” have become pop culture.
Maybe it was the simple bumper sticker on the rear window of a car in front of me on my way home from work that caught my attention……
“In memory of my son, SPS (name witheld) Killed in action, (Place) Iraq, January 1, 2007″
No Cindy Sheehan politcs, no using him as a “talking point”, just a Mother, having to put that on her car, because there are terrorist that want to kill us all, and her son was killed defending us.
And people want to make jokes……..jokes that distort the truth.
And this Mom goes home,…….. alone.
Yeah, real funny……..
PinkyBigglesworth on March 14, 2007 at 10:37 PM
I never cared for Mad Magazine and I guess I made a good call on MadTV as well. Though this…
Did manage to get a chuckle out of me.
SnakeintheGrass on March 14, 2007 at 10:43 PM
It was clever, at a 7th grade level, but beyond puns and twisted logic, there was no connection between the satire and the reality. To really work, the satire has to be a close analogy to the reality, not a crude spin.
But they get a solid C- for trying.
stonemeister on March 14, 2007 at 10:49 PM
Wow. Comedic genius.
I haven’t watched anything that original, innovative, cutting-edge witty, rip-roaringly hilarious since… since… since… yesterday?
Oh, never mind. Knock-knock jokes just never get old. Ask any kindergartener.

Not that I’m being snarky.
I know all there is to know about slow news days.
Misha I on March 14, 2007 at 10:53 PM
Mad TV is kinda like Joy Behar has never been intentionally funny, ever.
SNL can at least claim that at various points in its history, it was funny.
The Rott is right though, its been a dull news day.

jummy on March 15, 2007 at 12:09 AM
HAHAHA! The pure comic genius! That and a few “Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?” jokes had me in laughing fits. Such new material, constantly streaming from these liberals. Pure magic!
The analogy doesn’t even get near making sense. Pathetic attempt. I give it a D-.
amerpundit on March 15, 2007 at 12:12 AM
I think it’s quite hilarious.
BTW…I happened to notice Michael McDonald at the Liberty Film Festival two years ago.
I realize that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a conservative but then again, how many Hollywood liberals would be interested in attending a conservative film festival?
Jus’ sayin’…
The Ugly American on March 15, 2007 at 12:26 AM
[I don't want to deal with the subject matter of the joke so I'll liken it to another joke people will definitely see as childish]
Oh wait, that’s been done multiple times in this thread already.

Heh…who’d have thought that such blatant moonbattery could be so funny?

Not funny.

Terrible post.
Disappointed.
“Heartache”.

OK, how about an anti-moonbat video?
flipflop on March 15, 2007 at 12:48 AM
That’s not too far of a stretch. Jeff *Skunk* Baxter (guitarist for the Doobies) has always struck me as a conservative. Check out his Wiki profile (scroll down to his work with Defense contractors). A couple of excerpts-

Oops….Forgot that the MadTV guy is also named Michael McDonald. I was thinking you were referring to the Doobie Brothers Michael McDonald.

Tears in my eyes………… thank you!
PinkyBigglesworth on March 15, 2007 at 1:30 AM
That was pretty lame. Once “Irack” was said, the funny ended. It was just analogies fitting the MSM/Democrats distortions about the situation, that Bush is causing the problems in Iraq, that he’s just putting more and more troops in and it’s only making it worse (he’s hardly put any more in and by all accounts IT’S HELPING!), that he’s just pointlessly throwing money at it, etc. etc.
It’s not just a partisan thing… as most of you (especially those who find it funny) I’m one of the biggest critics of The Half Hour News Hour… I don’t care if it “agrees” with me, it’s stupid (so far, though the second episode got better). While I disagree with this sketch, the reason I don’t like it is because it’s not funny… though it does make it more annoying to know that the audience is the late night talk show/Daily Show type audience who gets their news from comedy bits… I have trouble ignoring these people as just idiots, because their votes are the types that cancelled ours out last election, and they’ll be around next time too.
RightWinged on March 15, 2007 at 1:40 AM
Like Conan O’Brien, MadTV just isn’t funny and never has been. This is more proof of that.
Hope you had an exit strategy for this post, Allah.
JinxMcHue on March 15, 2007 at 1:47 AM
They misspelled Iraq….
Tim Burton on March 15, 2007 at 1:49 AM
I guess I found it funny because I’ve always viewed the introduction of Democracy in Iraq where the majority of the people support Iran as foolhardy and dangerous and believed that the best plan after taking Saddam out of power would have been to install a “moderate” Sunni leader who would work with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the US to contain Iranian Islamofascism without planting hundreds of thousands of his own people in mass graves and building WMDs. But then again, thats just me.
Buzzy on March 15, 2007 at 1:51 AM
See I actually disagree there… he’s clearly a lib, but I think Conan is hilarious 75% of the time… MadTV maybe 5% if their lucky.
RightWinged on March 15, 2007 at 2:02 AM
Furthermore, as an eMac user, I found the sound effects to be particularly funny.
The Ugly American on March 15, 2007 at 2:17 AM
To each his own. Whenever I’ve watched Conan, however, I’ve had nothing but a stone-face even through the parts the audience found the funniest.
JinxMcHue on March 15, 2007 at 2:22 AM
Lol! I love it! That was actually really well done =P

iGoing to check on LGF..
Viper1 on March 15, 2007 at 5:50 AM
I think you either “get” Conan, or you don’t. I think watching him is like torture. The “in the year 2000″ skits were kinda funny; but the premise got old quick.
lorien1973 on March 15, 2007 at 9:59 AM
Joel Surnow needs to steal some writers from this show.
John from WuzzaDem on March 15, 2007 at 12:00 PM
Heh. At least they were clever about it. Dissenting viewpoints in comedy is only funny if … well, if it’s funny. That was funny.
yo on March 15, 2007 at 12:02 PM
Hello.
I actually found it funny from two points. The first point is the obvious Irack/Iraq and the CEO’s/ POTUS comparison. But the other reason it was funny is that second level where the majority of stockholders would rant and rail but in the end would do nothing except run from the responsibility they should exert to fix the problem… in other words, what the Democratic Party has been doing the whole time. Really good comedy always works on two levels.
Chike ex Machina on March 15, 2007 at 2:41 PM
Liberal humor at its most absolute intellectually bankrupt.
